Vadym, after deliberating for a few minutes on whether or not to join our intrepid highwayman, decides to indeed abandon the cart in favor of meeting with the famed 'Immortal Hunter' that was to be his boss for the foreseeable future. He climbs the steps to stand beside the former bandit.

"Привіт! You must be here to see the same man as I, no?"

Armor on an airship is a bad idea. It just doesn't work. You can not meaningfully armor the airship without turning it into an unmoveable unit.

On the other hand, flak really isn't as big an issue as you make it seem. An airship is quite big, which means it can sustain a few hits.

But more seriously, I do not see how this ship could be anything else except National Effort, it's about the size of Zeppelin (only slightly smaller) and based on Zeppelins data, even our destroyer is smaller. And that is Very Expensive.

Aye, but you also have to take into account how much goes into a destroyer. A Zeppelin will still cost less overall than any destroyer die to the relative ease of gathering the parts and materials required for it to be built. Not matter how long it is. It is literally just a metal frame and several balloons filled with hydrogen and a coupe observation decks with room for small armament, high ordinance explosives, and engines we can salvage from the Locus. I'd say that it'd probably be less expensive than anything else we have for vehicular transportation.

Aye. They'll have their flasks, but what about when the battle's over and they need to drink to Toskesh's downfall?

We really need those kegs.

My submarine has been revised to have room for tea boilers and kegs.

NAF-MAB-51 "Lead Pipe" - A small, two man mortar with a 60mm bore. It is constructed of half inch steel pipe and uses an external bipod and baseplate. With the tube, plate, and bipod, it weights a total of 136 pounds. It fires a mechanically timed high explosive round. Meant as a quick-deploy, anti-infantry weapon to be used in a squad.

NNF-SS-51 "Scorpion"-class Submarine - Our first submersible craft. Designed to go to 150m underwater with a surface speed of 12 knots and an underwater speed of 8 knots. It will have two forward facing torpedo tubes. The boat is 32.2m with a displacement of 207 long tons when submerged. The crew complement is 11 crew members. It it meant to hunt Toskesh's shipping lanes and/or bring down ships in the eastern sea. It has room for two boilers set aside for tea. And has a stowage bay for kegs of alcoholic beverages.

"Aye. Best not to stick around longer then necessary. Maybe this procuring business will take us away from here. Far as I'm concerned, that ship is bad news. But first, I think we should look into where exactly we are." Halcyon looks for a merchant that may have an atlas or a map.

Design: NNF-FB-1a 'Sea Lance': A small two tube torpedo launcher for use on ships. It has a maximum range of 8Km and a max effective range of about 1.5km. The torpedoes travel at about 36 knots. The torpedoes are British made Bliss-Leavitt Mark 8 torpedoes that have been leased to us.
The intention of the Sea Lance is for it to be mounted on our Herald-class destroyers. This would allow us to better deal with Toskesh's navy.

Future Design: NNF-SS-51 Scorpion-class Submarine: Our first submersible craft. Designed to go to 150m underwater with a surface speed of 12 knots and an underwater speed of 8 knots. It will have two forward facing torpedo tubes. The boat is 32.2m with a displacement of 207 long tons when submerged. The crew complement is 11 crew members.

I'm thinking about us using a couple design phases to make several unique rounds for our anti-tank guns.

Future Design: NAF-NG-31-HE-52 I'm assuming we have basic solid shot artillery and tank shells, AP, so we make a hollow shell case and fill it with fast acting explosives. The trigger mechanism that lights it off is a simple contact explosive in the front tip of the shell. This will be used as anti-personnel.

Future Design: NAF-APDS-52: An armor piercing shell that has a smaller diameter than the barrel of the gun we use it for. The round is 20mm in diameter, is made of a heavy density metal, and has no explosive filler. It is hoised within a set of soft metal petals, which act as a power piston, allowing full gunpowder usage for the round. Once the round leaves the barrel, the petals peel off the round leaving it moving in a straight line at a high velocity. The smaller diameter and faster speed equates to better armor penetration capabilities. But, the lack of explosive filler means that the only dangers to the crew is simple shrapnel or being hit directly. This is meant to be anti-tank.

Final one. For when the Toskesh manage to scrape together an airforce.
Future Design: NAF-NG-31-ABS-52a: An airburst round meant for use as anti-aircraft. It uses a spin timer to detonate in mid air at a preset altitude. It uses high explosive filler to propel shards of metal through the air in the hopes of hitting the fuselage of an aircraft.

Also had an idea for a crank operated field gun.
Future Design: NAF-FG-5X "Liberation" A 20mm cannon with a 1.3m barrel length. The cannon is aimed, both vertically and horizontally by two hand cranks located at the middle and rear of the cannon. The ammunition is kept in box magazines that are loaded into the gun from the side. The firing crank is located on the magazine side of the gun. The loading crank has two points of operation. Halfway loads the round and ejects the previous. Full way primes the firing block for firing. Upon priming the block, the crank locks. Once fired, the crank unlocks allowing for the next round to be chambered.
