Wow. Stumbled across this thread originally in 2016 then re-stumbled across it today and was shocked it was still chugging right along. I dont post much at all, mostly lurk, but decided to log in to say thanks for the entertaining as hell read and jaw dropping fort. Ive been playing DF for about 7-8 years, and I've never gotten a fort over 25 years old.

Keep it up, its amazing.

I first read this story in 2013, and after recently coming back to DF (and deciding to make a forum account, finally) am really happy to see its still going. Keep up the awesome work. Even though people might not comment much, im sure theres a lot of us lurkers out there.

Hey, do you guys like amazing fanart?  I sure do!

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Done by a very dear friend of mine who has an amazing knack for art.

You can find more of her stuff here!

p.s. update sometime in the next 24 hours

Hot damn. No formal training?? I know people who spent 5 years and thousands of dollars in art school who cant even come within a mile of that! Absolutely beautiful. Does she do portrait commissions?

(so glad I found this thread.... think Im the 14th long time lurker to bite the giant olm leather and sign up because of it)

Okay, everybody, this is Misty. She's not one for Practical Decision-Making. First, she needs an unrealistic dream to pursue. How about:
1. Go get a bucket make some freakin' god-milk cheese already. (What player would pass up that for a fortress)
2. Find a chef in the process of preparing a lavish meal.
3. Insert All The Cheese into their cooking process.

+1

Also maybe since its magic goddess cheese, if the other dwarves eat it they'll all start worshiping Cowsea and take up farming instead of acting like typical players homicidal maniacs. And cheesemakers will finally get the respect they deserve!

Im a long time (since 2011) lurker. For years I watched the stark raving madness that rampages about these forums, but never felt the need to join in. Stumbled across this thread a couple of days ago and it was so awesome I had to create an account.

So I guess you could say this thread is better than dwarven child torture training pits, mermaid farming, pedophile goblins, blooddrenched homicidal elephants and reports of cats puking their guts out and dying from dwarves sloshing booze everywhere. Thats pretty good, right?
