General Discussion / Re: I like anime, do you like anime?

Honestly, I rewatched the show somewhat recently, I'm still sorta convinced there's a deep message about (spoilers made invisible) a boy wanting to come of age and accept his role as a man, dealing with the sudden absence and infidelity of his brother, coping with the many feelings and frustrations that come with being a teenager, and coming to terms that even if he wants to grow up as fast as possible that it's OK to just enjoy being a child while you still can.

I think that's true. I've been told that it's basically a retelling of Evangelion, but psychedelic instead of mind-numbingly depressing.

Gargantia - On the Verdurous Planet ... 13 episodes.

Add two bonus episodes. Then add another two bonus episodes of which the last will be out in April, and there will be 17 episodes in total. Which sounds like "cool, extra episodes" until you find out there was supposed to be a season two, but it got cancelled.

Man, that sucks. Well, thanks for telling me.

Upper respiratory tract infections are no joke. Really. Best to nip that stuff in the bud.

I've been watching Gargantia - On the Verdurous Planet lately. It's a show about a young mecha pilot who gets stranded on a planet where everybody lives on boats and has a relaxed lifestyle--like if the Gundam SEED lead guy crashlanded and got stuck on Fiji with no way to get back home. It's a basic fish-out-of-water story with some twists and drama, and the art is really nice. 13 episodes.

Fixed those images for you.

Oh, thanks!

Plating may not be a biological requirement, but I think it's a nice thing to do and it doesn't take that long. Helpful when you're trying to impress picky parents :P

Cool thread! I can't wait to learn some new recipes.

Spoiler: Yesterday's dinner (click to show/hide)

Stir-fried bok choy and miso yakionigiri with pickled scallion inside; custard pudding and blackberries for dessert.

Spoiler: Today's dinner (click to show/hide)
Bell pepper and zucchini frittata with leftover bok choy; half a sliced pear for dessert.

I'm trying to learn better plating skills...

Do any of you, like me, prefer your scrambled eggs dry rather than moist?
I've always much preferred them dry and fluffy, but apparently some people like them moist. That seems a bit gross to me personally.
Which is the more common way to have them?

I like them dry, myself.

I'll give this a try. My goal is to update every two weeks, in order to improve my self-monitoring skills. I will commit to not posting more frequently than that, because I want to think carefully every time. Today's writing counts as the first update for the month of March.

Leading edge => Work on executive functioning skills.

I'm starting by posting here for encouragement and community. I think the next thing is to regulate my eating and sleeping habits more, and go back to practicing Taiji to help out both of those. I might also get some books on the subject from the local academic library.
