Alright, so.. turns out that even with my superminothar Dhorna's speech and persuasion abilities (5000) failed on Mogem the human farmer.. most of the values I've stated to him can go for I'd wager an hour or more at least as he just won't change his values and won't see reason.

Well, Dhorna/me finally snapped and strangled the guy to death and made him an example of what happens when the values of a peace-loving minothar female is never understood and only response to them is bullying and ridicule (and I fucking hate that).

EDIT: Since I can't be arsed to create a new character and regen the world I'm probably gonna turn Dhorna to the forces of warp so I can unleash the inner beast of rage and hate within me.

Behold, the reality-devouring gator of doom.

Strange thing is this about the 3rd-6th instance of the game crashing after the fort offloads meaning that the previous attempts at forts and retiring them and unretiring my main character, those didn't have a gator of doom but something else is in the play here plus my other adventurer is still bugged and considers that human settlement he started in as home (at least he stays/lives in my fort), probably some bug caused by him being a companion for the main adventurer as the main one considers the fort I've built home. So, I tried a few things as Kothir (male minothar) to find around this issue and nope.. nothing worked and everytime I go to that human civ's village, Kothir gets possessed by AI and just stands in place and the only way to move is to jump but then the AI walks him back to the place I jumped from.. really fucking odd (travel mapping out of there is the only way to get out). Doesn't happen in the lord's building though, just in the hamlet.

For some reason after leaving the area I've built for my adventurers once I go into travel screen and it offloads the site the game crashes. I tested the SAME save yesterday and that was not the case, but then again I didn't do any interaction with the NPCs.

Luckily there's a way around it though, just have to carefully travel somewhere far, save and then it seems to be fine and after that a blip appears from my fort and it's an alligator.. seems to be the one that killed that human visitor. Though for some reason this time saving crashed too and then afterward at least it went back to normal (saves properly again).

Yesss, accept your manly tears. Or you know, your need to not have dry eyes.

Well, I'll make my minothars able to have tears again since regular minotaurs do and I am playing a compassionate female character after all currently and in the future I think when getting back to fort mode I'll figure out how to start with a kobolth civ exclusive to myself. Kobolths can still be killed but their bones are of a very tough material and they heal fast overall, basically I wont need almost all of the DFtool tags enabled and I can rest easy knowing that even when the fort's retired those kobolths won't die of old age and don't need to mess with alcohol, food and sleep and all they would need is having a full set of metal armor on and in a way be dwarves in their own way by mining and building.

Kobolths are basically my super "slave" race for drogoths/minothars and to those who don't know: I always play games as they were not meant to be be played originally.

When a need is met, emotional creatures feel "unfettered." Strong emotion like this causes them to cry. So, when your adventurer kills those evil bandits and starts crying, it's not because he feels sorry. It's because he "improved his fighter skill" or because he "got in a fight recently". Assuming you have the right needs, of course.

Your dwarves were satisfied at work, i.e. did their jobs. (Mining)

Ahh, so that's what that does/is for, that finally explains it! It never really occurred to me as I've taken a glance on that unfocused/unfettered screen many times and yet couldn't make heads and tails of the thing. Thanks!

personal artifact steel greatsword (divine stainless steel) and call it "Atlantean Sword"

And unto this, Droggarth! Destined to wear the jeweled crown of The Aquiline Dominions upon a troubled brow. It is I, his chronicler, who alone can tell you of his saga. Let me tell you of the days of high adventure!

Heh! Yeah, finding such an artifact crown would be a treat too. That movie though gives goosebumps to me to this day, hence why the first thing in terms of swords I ever wanted to use in adventure mode was a steel greatsword and once I got one I was kind of disappointed that yet again some LOTR mithril analog is many times better but then again steel is strong, admamantine is much stronger but willpower is the the strongest of them all.

Emotional needs are fucking weird.

They sure are. Even with sadness, stress, anxiety, etc at <<</off... still my adventurers start endlessly crying at some point, tears are on their eyes ALL - THE - BLOODY - DAMN - TIME! So I've just abolished the ability for crying on my custom creatures. Seriously, Drog the kobolth Battle-Lord for example was someone designed by me to be the semi-incarnation of Khorne.. and what does the game think he is? Some cry baby that starts crying endlessly the moment I remove and re-equip the same item.

So yeah, fuck tears as the emotions and personalities clearly don't work right currently. When you feel rage, hate and bloodlust last thing you do in that state is cry as I know rage and hate all too well on a personal level. When I feel rage and hate, tears just stop and all the energy and brain function tends to go towards fight instead of flight but that's just how it works with me.

What the.. it just now occurred to me that my minothar being is basically an altered-on-steroids Hell Knight monster from the original Doom games (they used to be partially hairless minotaurs and not Doom 3's abomination that has no flesh on mouth/jaw area).

Means I won't have to create a new creature if I wanna go on a hardcore hellish mayhem as a 'Hell Knight' because I've already unknowingly have a similar creature in it's place.
The only problem with that is that I have no idea still how to make goblins and demons friendly and every other civ hostile as when I play this sort of thing I want NPCs on the good side running scared or be brave or stupid enough to try take my character down.

I've given more thought into this and personally I just want to create a personal artifact steel greatsword (divine stainless steel) and call it "Atlantean Sword" or "(adventurer name)'s Wrath".

This is more fitting

Yeah, I can't argue with that. Loved the ending theme of that episode, an episode where this quote from Warhammer 40k fits:
"If the path to salvation leads through the halls of purgatory, then so be it." - Ahzek Ahriman of the Thousand Sons

EDIT: Actually, that quote fits for me too as in my mind I was:
"If I manage to slog through to get this structure done in fort mode for my adventurers.. then I can relax at least."

Reclaiming a 10k years old fort in the age of the Goblin is some epic shit. What happened to the original settlers?

Agh! I'm almost inclined to test/try out this myself for the pure factor of warhammer mayhem and epicness while listening to this:

Aw, crap. After retiring my fort again as I needed to revert and do a few changes, one of them being so I could do dancing inside the minothar room/temple of Ak the draltha goddess of nature and water. Point is that one human visitor who stayed near the area got killed by an alligator at some point and I only found out by finding her mangled skeletal body just outside the fort and by storytelling about it to dwarves which clarified what killed her and good grief does that npc woman have about 6-7 entries of things to tell stories about, the poor woman was married too and there's a husband waiting for her return probably and I'm gonna have to bring him the bad news.

So yeah, since the lass was near my fort for quite long while.. a little role-play travel to her husband's home to deliver her remains and tell what happened is in order.

And I thought DF would become kinda boring after I've built housing for my two minothars and 10 dwarves (3 came and joined the folk, had to use DFtool on them to ensure their survival.. should've attempted/used it on the human visitor too but, meh). By the way, kryptonian dwarves and minothars FTW! *cue the original Superman theme*

It was a pocket world.

Might as well be a pocket dimension the way DF works. *insert Dr Who theme here* :o

Joking aside, here's proof of the fruits of my labor:

The two pink/purple 'M' icons are the minothar adventurers of mine.

I went back from the fort mode to check out how things fare now with character all buffed up aaand.. what was it about llamas or goats following one around? Yeah, I just ran into that. They seem to be able to put tents up too and in my case it's llamas.
