What companions really need IMO is a proper command menu where to set their orders like in Neverwinter Nights and those older infinity engine games. Have them able to jump and climb along with you and respect you if you want to make the first kill. I know it's probably alot of coding to do but it is essential if you're both adventurer and a commander of an army.

Still figuring out myself about these personality arrows.

Decided to copy the initially created world where my kobolth is because I prefer to have access to both adventurers in the same world setting/seed. Spawned as an outsider called Dhorna, (my drogoth lass re-invented) at the place my kobolth Drog started at which was near the same dwarven hillock. Then stole a silver greatsword and a silver whip from the same dwarven fortress but sadly no backpack, had to make one from goats and while at it made some mastercraft bone gear just incase but all she's wearing now is as follows: Artifact bone helm with five spike horns (accidently added too much due to results incorrectly saying I didn't do anything), Mastercraft bone amulet, two Mastercraft bone bracelets, mastercraft waterskin along with exceptional backpack from those goats and adorned the artifact sliver adamantine greatsword with citrine bands and artifact sliver platinum whip with some high quality morion spikes. Everything else is in the backpack.

So I went to that human bandit camp again (found some empty lair on the way this time), talked with the commander there for a bit and then bolted towards the Gakit's place to the west to test my drogoth's thoughness. I was satisfied to find out that Gakit's attacks just glanced away and the only way the bastard could do any damage to my nudist was when he grabbed her and threw her like 6-10 squares away, smashing the skin on the ground but the damage levels were still in the brown which seems to indicate that they'll heal, and fast they'll heal on a drogoth. Took but a few moments to crack and bash and smash it's skull into it's brain and kill it. :o Good thing I saved the game before as I wanna kill the demon again and this time with triple the amount of toughness added as I do not want any smashed skin.

Point is, now I've compared between a character who has a really hard time killing a demon and a character who has quite an easy time killing a demon. Fact is I honestly prefer the latter. When I want my character to hit something he/she better hit it and not miss, I'm surprised I didn't break something in real life when dealing with that demon the first time. Usually when games get too nerve-racking for too long that's when I'm about to blow a proverbial 9000+ megaton nuclear explosive with my rage and it's not even funny nor is it good for my brain cells.

EDIT: _STRAIN_AT_YIELDs at 0 on body materials results in dented non-healing parts. So I did the opposite of it and noticed that the demon didn't throw her anymore but instead tried to strangle her and in one testing instance killed her by strangling. I just wanna cut that bastards legs off while it's still alive and then hack it's head off.

I don't have artifake updated but it doesn't show the "created by soandso" in the description of an artifact, though it does show in legends.

I still get periodic giggles picturing me Birdgirl-ing into that mule.
https://youtu.be/YmjejTZWdAU?t=220

Theheh!

Anyway, at this point I'm just thinking of going back to my drogoth project who's body can't be harmed by a demon.. just how much numbers do I need to put until all of the demon's attacks do jack shit? 10,000,00 body size of a demon, now how much strength and power does this thing actually have and do, well screw it I'll just put an insane billion-trillion number possible to the all of drogoth's body materials and all strain at yields to 0, saves me from having to waste my time on getting gear on the body and can just wield a whip and a greatsword and a backpack for trophies with my drogoth. Also I really liked it when my drogoth lass charged at bogeymen and made their bodies skid about.

This all means retiring my current adventurer to somewhere and re-creating Dhorna and her personality but not yet, not yet. I've got Kobolth's newly transformed greatsword to test on something.

Yeah, vault guardians have special metal types associated with their deity. They have different names, like flickering metal or searing metal, but AFAIK they're all the same effectiveness - IIRC better than steel but not as good as adamantine - although unlike adamantine they're still fairly decent for blunt weapons.
Its impact values should indicate that it's better than wood for blunt damage, but in practice I haven't found that to be the case.

I wish I could melt divine blunt weapons down to make anything else, because anything else would be a better use of the material.

Read the wiki just now. Yeah I'm turning this clear blue metal back to adamantine and leave it only on my greatsword. At least I turned my regular clothing to that divine clothing that supposedly doesn't burn. That vault had Lerdi's Doom as the main boss/guardian, some sort of a large worm with wings that wasn't too difficult to slice open. Which brings me to that slab, read the slabs description and don't seem to be able to do much else with the thing, except maybe drag it to the doorsteps of its demon and throw it to death with it.

.....

I am finally able to think about this without laughing until I cry, there's something wrong with my brain I think.

Agh, hilarious!

EDIT: I'd really love to have my mastercrafted stuff in artifact status with my name on them, just need that "created by (character name)" to stay in artifact quality. Any pointers would be helpful.

I know about adamantine but these brutes have blue metal stuff on them. Another metal ID too.

Got the slab of some demon, dragged it on the ground floor of the vault. This demon and it's god deal in disease. To the blazes them.

Candy is generally better, but that stuff is usually better than steel.

What? o_O

Uhh, I just discoverd that the vault I found has someone called Lerdi and am currently dealing with them. One of them had a blue metal pike and a blue metal shield... blue metal!?! :o I was not aware of that.

Time to boot up DFtool and upgrade my gear to that divine metal!

Goblins don't know how to make way for the guy with the weapon. This isn't a toy, folks! This is what they get for making their corridors so narrow. I leave them at least a tick to move their asses, then start grabbing and throwing them. If one thinks their personal offense requires my attention, then I give them enough time to commune with their gods before their paralyzed lungs fail them. (*spine crack!* "Get comfortable, you'll only be waiting a moment.")

My character turns out is also a legendary beheader even with very difficult strikes at troll heads or necks so every goblin or a troll or a beak dog that ran out of some corridor or a hole got on an instant field execution kill almost 90% of the time as beak dogs were the only ones who kept dodging so for that I butchered and mutilated their corpses. Zero fucks were given that day.

I think you've described it well. First responders and ICU personnel go through a bit of this just by being observers to people near or past death. Seeing so many bodies in such terrible shape starts to erode your own body modesty and body consciousness. Sometimes it's obvious when a nurse or med tech is showing an inordinate consideration for the patient's modesty; it's because they're not quite as in touch with it themselves and less certain where people's boundaries are, so they err heavily on the side of caution.

Aye, aye! Also, congrats on taking that demon down!

There really should be that romance/love option for adventurers in the dialog. What's this I hear about harem anyway? Heck, I'd be happy if my female companion admitted her love for my character. Wish companions were able to climb and swim too but meh, having your love waiting for you somewhere at a place you claimed is a healthy alternative for someone who likes to play one man army.

Toady has said it is planned.

Awesome.

Anyway, regarding the demon who's skull I brutally lashed in with my artifact platinum whip is Gakit the Death of Menace, a cerulean monster who was associated with murder it turns out. Poetic justice if ya ask me, the Demon of Murder who got murdered and outwitted and outran by a body size 65,000 Kobolth who is the very embodiment of rage and willpower itself. Next on my kill list is that goddess who that demon was in cahoots with and that goddess being: Setrub Splatteredwhip who occurs in the myths of the Kingdoms of Amusement. She's a rotting female human and is associated with valor, war, death and disease. Well, not if I have anything to say about it.

EDIT: Gakit's form I fought with was this: "A huge noseless fox twisted into humanoid form. It knows and intones the names of all it encounters. Its cerulean hair is unkempt. Beware its deadly blood!" ..well I drank some of it's blood and and didn't feel a thing. My character is to tough for your shite, Gakit.

Aye, even one man armies need love. c:

I think I'm content with the Poet's aloof dependability, and the Dancer's occasional puppydog need for approval. I would take the sexual relations between us to be implicit due to the fact that we're a tight knit traveling group, and that clinical and statistical studies show exposure to life threatening conditions reduces inhibitions both in the short term and over longer periods of episodic exposure. The sex going hand-in-hand with violence in media doesn't seem gratuitous to someone who's been exposed to violence other than on a screen.

Exactly, in reality if you're an adventurer with a woman (or vice versa) as your traveling companion and you're in life threatening situations and doing fighting and all that together you both eventually decide to forget all the civilized shit and just do it to relax and experience something other than fighting 'cause you never know when she or you are dead so it's better to know sex before death. I've done research on this sort of thing over the years, examined mental states and things relating to mind due to my own mental issues.

Forgot to add this last time. Some kiddycide when they didn't like me killing murloc mayors.

I have...no idea how to interpret this. Did I punch the guts so hard they went back inside the body?

Inside the body and smashed into something resembling a minced meat. :o Ouch, well that kid's not gonna eat again even if he survives the wounds.

I brutally butchered that demon into nice bits and slices, threw his insides about and called it more than even. Only thing left to do is drag the mangled demon's bits to other demons' and gods' doorsteps as a dreadful warning and a general middle finger to both heaven and hell. Have never had this sort of satisfaction from a game, the perfect game for my internal rage and dark impulses caused by my own physical mental disorder I've been struggling with since childhoood. Nearly 200 satisfying kills scored in that goblin land. Splendid.

Oh and, my character only has bruises. If he didn't have that adamantine on his body he'd be a vegetable 60 times over.

Ugh, painfully slowly I'm trying hack and stab and lure and dodge and jump in hopes of fucking up this demon. Judging by the damages it already has, if I keep this up.. eventually this demon's gonna go down. Eventually... *keeps playing benny hill with the demon*
If he's a flier, try to lure him to a room with a high ceiling and then work on his wings. His mass on slade block floor gets really messy. Just 1 zlvl of impact is enough to finish him.

Well, he's not a flier but when I get him far enough that he'll get bored and go back I can bolt a few running strikes with the sword and do some artery damage, even managed to make the thing fall a few times.

EDIT: New strategy: Copper coin the fucker to death.

EDIT2: FINALLY!!!

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Didn't know who he was fucking with. Now if you'll excuse me, I must take a dump down his neck.

No, uhm. I think it's a demon as it's some sort of a fox in a human form. I can only bruise it's muscles and seems to be far worse than a dragon. It has a '&' symbol.

Ah. It's a demon, likely a master of a goblin civ. 3:

Smart thing would be to find it's slab... but I'm inclined to hand it's own arse to it's mouth.
