DF Adventure Mode Discussion / Re: A Brawl Gone Horribly Wrong

I opened this thread hoping for a loyalty cascade that ended in a town being depopulated and found one guy get punched in the nuts, and an argument about whether or not such and such censored such and such. And the argument was longer and more verbose than the description of the guy getting punched in the nuts.

I am sorely disappointed in all of you.

I, frankly, was interested in getting a better understanding by which someone can be gelded with bare hands and why in Armok's name something so horrifying can even happen.

Then I got to wonder if the gelding skill (It is a profession, Gelder, so is there a skill related to it?) increases chances of getting debilitating gelding blows in combat and whether or not this is a viable strategy for an Adventurer.

I basically want to know if it's possible to make an Adventurer built solely around making lowblows.

So im assumimg there was no predetermined sage word?

What happens when you start a brawl? Does everyone join in or do guards show up? How does it end?

In my experience, you just find someone in a tavern and punch them. Brawls are a combat state that involves nothing but unarmed blows, so biting or grappling will elevate it to No-Quarters. I've never seen any NPC join a preexisting brawl, but then again, I don't initiate brawls often.

So, my Impalaman adventurer, Ithev Saltfork, and a Pikeman walked into a tavern...

...And the latter got castrated in a brawl.

I had no idea that punches could geld, let alone in a brawl through so many layers of clothing. I only wanted a drink and to get rowdy, but poor Ithev just ruined a fellow adventurer's life. Or at least any reason for him to be renting a room upstairs.  ;D
