I would like to be dorfed as the bookkeeper/trader/paperwork man as LordBrassroast the Sigillite.

We've got a bookkeeper, but I can easily put you as the broker. (someone needs to make sure we haven't lost any wealth...) That good? (Also, is your profession 'the Sigilite' ?)

That is fine. Yes, Sigillite is the profession.

Roger that! O7

Oooook...I've taken the time to look through the legends mode. We're ruled by an Empress. Who, sadly, worships a god of agriculture. If/when she dies, I'll perform some...eugenics once we have enough dwarves to get a warlike god to be worshiped by our current ruler. :)

Airith's spirit will rejoin of course

As a Headmistress of course?

You have to ask?

Just making sure. :p Some people have changed their professions from fort-to-fort/reclaim.

Am i the only one with any sense of morality here?

Morality is relative,
Puppies are cheap,
Dwarves are zealots of,
A place that creeps and leaks,
where oversears send them to die,
so we may feast on their on their sorrow,
as we chew on their marrow
Just never forget,
That Bloodyhells is always a threat.

Can I sig this? The poem. 'Tis glorious!

Digperium Reclaim Fixes
-All dwarves in reclaim have some form of a weapon and armor and the skills for it.

-Once the fortress is reclaimed have all dwarves with little to do like hunters, peasants, fisherdwarves, etc put into military service as either Astartes with all year around training, or into the Digperium Guard with differing schedules. Officers train for three months at a time in order to get skills to train the basic, every-other-month Digperium Guardsdwarves. Five dwarves per squad until we have plenty of idle dwarves for filled squads.

-In the event of a siege, everyone is conscripted to be trained every other month, making sure that in the event of more than one person doing the same job to spread them out so we don't suddenly lose production in a given job every other month.

-Watch towers for each Digperium Guard squad must have paths and buildings created above ground to shoot at any undead that get close.

OK! Here's what I have as fixes-y-things for when I (technically we with the other six who join in the reclaiming), go to reclaim the Digperium Outpost of Goldenpages (Goldenpaged? I forget and am too lazy to look). If anyone has ideas to add to this glorious endeavor, please say! I will read them all.

Now, I won't be doing it for a while yet. I'm waiting for LNP to be updated to version 43yaddayadda (.43yaddayadda?). This is simply planning and is a way for you to say who and how you want to be dorfed as!

GLORY TO DIGPERIUM: WE WILL SURVIVE THIS TIME

XD Hopefully. Now I know that only three melee dwarves, two who are barely trained and one of those forgoes an actual weapon, and four crossbowdwarves is a bad idea. I need to just go full on 10 dwarf training squads. And find some flipping flux-stone...

Yes, TIR, that will happen. XD And everyone on embark will have some fighting skill in order to kill the zombies outside, then dig into the fortress and kill the six inside. And I'll be a proper primarch rather than just a bunch of administrative skills. (Also, this was my full initiation into the DF community! It wasn't save deletion, but proper 'everyone-is-dead' !!FUN!!)

Welcome to the Brotherhood of DF veterans!

Veterans- n. - One who has lost one or more forts due to a stupid oversight.

Ok, I'm sigging that. ...How do I sig?

Lol, just go to profile, and its one of the settings tabs. Just click quote on whatever post you want to SIG, then copy it all and paste it in your settings box...

And thanks for digging me

You're welcome! (I had to add a little bit to it fyi so there wasn't any wrong context just in case.)

To everyone else: I'm accepting names for people to be dorfed come time for the reclaiming! I don't know if I should continue it here or make a new topic titled 'Glory to the Digperium: Reclamation' Which should I do?

I want to be dorfed! Call me Cor, Primarch of the Foehammers! (Aka: hammerdwarf) You can have me train all the time or every other month as needed. If there's spare manpower at some point too, give me a training partner.

Reclaimation, #1

Did I go out fighting?

Maybe? There was so much happening I couldn't check on who was doing what. ^^; And the fact I tried to put unneeded people in the military, as opposed to everyone, probably means Airith just ran away until she got cornered and then had to fight back that way.

1st of Granite, Year 83

Damn hippy magics! They've finally invaded us to try and remove our stronghold. This will be the first test of our fledgling military.

And more of them have come along!

I've ordered that we be locked down to see how long they will wait us out.

27th of Granite, Year 83

Turns out a long time, they've been chasing one of our pets for weeks after slaughtering the other pastured animals. I've told the masons to carve fortifications in the built walls of the highest level we have in order to get the Digperium Guard stationed up there to begin shooting at any undead that get too close.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

21st of Slate, Year 83

The astartes in training and The_Lord_Bastard grow tired of waiting, I'll need to let them kill something soon. I'll open the drawbridge until one or two get close then tell it to be shut so we slowly whittle down their numbers by killing them in ones or twos.

Before the order can be given, one of the A-I-T has charged out to a goblin spearman, getting himself killed in the process because he wasn't fully armored and decided to go with his hands only. I remember ordering them to use axes, not wrestling! And I know we have a fair many axes.

22nd of Slate, Year 83

Now we wait until the two closest undead get in, the goblin spearman and a bowdwarf. The dwarf is a twisted, rotten mockery of the once proud creature. But he was also probably a traitorous hippy follower. No one is pulling the lever and the hoard is getting closer, I can hear arrows scraping along the walls and floor as the undead miss with their weapons. No injuries have been reported, miraculously.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Well, dwarf's blood. I spoke too soon.

Armok and Emperor Damn those children. We might lose the fort now because one of them PULLED THE LEVER.

(OOC: I noticed the bridge being open while the lever was on, so I thought it was out of sync and ordered it to be pulled twice. Turns out the first pull had closed the bridge then a kid went and did the second one which opened the door again.)

24th of Slate, Year 83

The lever has quickly been pulled once more, but not before a fair few undead have gotten into the fortress. DWARVES OF THE DIGPERIUM. TO ARMS!

(OOC: I believe a few undead had also been crushed by the bridge raising, but I'm not certain.)

A pen floats in the air above a page

2nd of Felsite, Year 83

I died during the undead rampage through the base...so many dead. About seven dwarves remain. I now can only watch as they get together for a last ditch attempt against six undead. If anyone reads this, know we have gone down fighting. I will try to influence someone to send out a party to drive off the undead and reclaim these sacred halls.

We may have lost this battle, but we shall win the war.
---------------------------------------
OOC: In hindsight, I probably shouldn't have been picky-choosy about who fights and who doesn't and just fill up all the spots with everyone once the undead got inside... I also should have added maaaany more to the astartes and Digperium Guard and had them train for a longer time as the undead just chased around that cavy boar for months. Well, time for a reclaim attempt later. And hopefully a much longer thing than just 2 years and not-even-past-spring.... Thank Armok the necromancers didn't follow the zombies in, then I would have had undead horses AND my dwarves rising up again.

I'm also going to wait for a working LNP for the latest update(s) before I try the reclaim.

Fear not! There will be a great many socks soon! Hopefully. I may have to import clothing...and get our legendary mason to make a great many stone things to get encrusted then sold. :3 I also need to find gold for the golden thrones...
