The "Imprisoned Raynerd" mission?

From what you said, I assume you managed to enter the prison itself. If not, you can fly in through the glass roof (need to break it first), or tunnel in through the dirt. Tunneling is possible, but I do not remember what the dirt requires to break. (I traditionaly used bombard or HE dropped by a tank.)
The goal is to rescue a specific prisoner (in the basement), but killing all the guards will also win it. The furries locked themselves in, but locked doors can be destroyed by High Explosive.

I assume that's the only way to free your gals in the first Dr. X base attack? The one where you're allowed any or all of the following: shivs, rags. I found a pickaxe, smashed open the first door, dropped it, had the freed gal smash open the next door, repeat. Then we went around punching Academy folks for their weapons (and also so they didn't attack us).

Also, black powder bombs are the best lockpicks when they are available (based on no evidence, but a lowered TU cost because you don't prime them - 45 vs 65). They are not, however, the best anti-tank weapon.

Edit to add joke: You can leave a map without taking all of the enemies as prisoners and stealing their loot? Why?

I just powered through 8 levels of Baba is You in a row, half of them on the first try. Mostly rocket and Fall levels, but still.

I'm new enough that I'd prefer to play on one of the easier difficulties. Especially with the extra difficulty of having whatever the last person left instead of [preferred set-up]. If we do ironman, definitely on the low end.

I'm in, and my votes are

1) Women are superior
2) Grey (green isn't bad either, but I like the grey ships)
3) Prank

Also, I'd suggest naming the bases after famous women pirates. Possibly from an ethnicity appropriate (or as geographically close as possible) for the base location? Queeen Teuta base means we're mostly flying over land, which is where they are more likely to land. Ching Shih base should work as well.

Oh, are we doing a custom base start from the options menu? A layer of living quarters and storage (nothing else except the airlock, and no living quarters elsewhere) below the hangar helps with defense. Mess, medical, and similar places gals might be below that, labs and radar on the bottom. Trying Arnathor's base setup (layer of living quarters and storage on both sides of the hangar) ends up with way too many living quarters.

Any guesses how close we are to a new release? It looks like they usually show up this time of the month.

Oh, and put what you were more-or-less trying to do in your captain's log so we don't end up 99% of the way to a dozen different major technologies without getting them. Or we have all of the parts to make a better medical facility, but not the cash yet, and it never gets built.

Arkham Horror Card Game. Forgotten Age.

Last week, we set up the 5th scenario (I think; it's the 2-parter), played through it, and realized we used the wrong locations. Then we did it again, with the right locations and the wrong act/adgenda. This week, we got through it, but our mage dying means we only got 4 of the 6 objectives. The game says to play again, with a harder start but with less time wasted finding out what your objective is. We mulliganed it, tried again, and got to a likely no-win condition after about 30 minutes out of a 1.5-hour game.

I want to like this campaign. It tries to make agility a useful stat, it has an exploration mechanic (great for a jungle expedition), and they...tried with the resources. They also punish you for playing with 4 players instead of 2 (fewer resources, so larger groups run out of stuff/can't have everything they want and need. Also the encounter deck has whole-group effects, so more people means it's more likely to get one of the cards that hits everyone, because everyone draws a card each round), this mission at least makes the encounters mostly linear so you waste large amounts of time going through a deck to find the ONE card out of 12 that is useful instead of exploration just having you branch out, and there are a lot of gotchas that you get no hint of beforehand.

I mean, we could do one around here. We'd just need to find a group interested, a difficulty everyone can agree on, and maybe decide which decision to make the 3 times it really matters (women are superior, codex, what to do with Dr. X).

The ol' thermometer is reading "too damn hot." And it's Friday. That means, it's time for one of my favorite recipes:

1 part Sunny Delight (it's like orange juice but...not. Don't drink it straight; that's not what it exists for)
1 part vanilla schnapps

Mix, and leave in freezer. Stir/shake container sometimes so you end up with slush instead of chunks of ice. Best enjoyed in large quantities with friends, or sitting in front of the air conditioner too hot to function.

It tastes like the old orange push-up pops. Better than a frozen vodka lemonade after a hard day of work, or whatever approximation you get involved with.

On today's episode of "Is this guy a lunatic, a moron, or making shit up for votes?" we have Robert Rowland, saying he wants a 200 mile fishing exclusion zone, where the UK torpedoes every foreign ship found in "our" waters.

And it sounds like the answer to the question is a resounding "Yes."

Yeah, this is a good place to go to redefine your standards of insanity thus that you no longer fall under them~

Good news! You're not insane anymore. We cured you.

Indeed, but the unfortunate texture for "eating" chocolate in this case, has useful textural properties for the filling. A higher quality chocolate would be runny, not fudgey.

I totally know Hershey is a low tier chocolate; sometimes premium soft and velvety chocolate is not what you need. In this case, you need the waxier, hard chocolate.

(Also. Not their abhorrent milk chocolate. Special dark is a different beast. Hershey milk chocolate is nacky. I don't get why some of my coworkers like it. Cadbury makes vastly superior milk chocolate, but again, texture too soft, and nothe enough cacao.)

I have used terrible ingredients for their properties before. If you need Hershey's Chocolate, they need that kind for a reason. Also, cheeze whiz instead of cheese.

The airlock popping out isn't something you want, but if you can get it put back in fairly quickly, your batch might be fine. It will only happen when the batch is putting off a lot of gas, which also prevents anything getting in.

Also, maybe check to see if the airlock is a bit plugged.

You know, I can feel myself becoming more and more misanthropic by the day.

I started with such high hopes for humanity. Seems that reality's given (and is still giving) that notion a solid kick in the teeth.

We all made a big mistake coming down from the trees in the first place.

Hershey is not in my chocolate dictionary. Not a common brand here.
Substitute with Cadburys?

You'll want to go lower quality than Cadbury's to replace Hershey. They're the ones that had to develop a new aging technique for chocolate.

Not joking, people got upset that the taste and texture changed when refrigerated train cars were added, so they had to ruin the chocolate before delivering it, because the idiot customers are the ones you want to sell to. That is why most US chocolate is waxy and old tasting. They're still using a recipe from when refrigeration was new, designed to be like it spoiled, because people don't like change.

I have gone that route, but it would've been nice to get just a little bit more power out of it, or at the very least better cooling.

Then again I don't use my switch enough to warrant actually getting a switch heavy

Did you know you can store it in an ice water bath for better cooling?

I mean, don't, but you can.

I got a cast iron pot for birthday present. I'm gonna do hipster shit to it.

Dirty, sexy hipster shit.

You're going to throw a pizza crust in it, then instead of pasta sauce and horrible processed meats you fill it with spinach-artichoke dip (heavy on cheese, no mayo) and something like olives for a bit of salt? Maybe some chunks of chicken, and Parmesan cheese on top.

For me: I'm sick/exhausted. The dog protested that I was in bed 4 hours longer than I'm supposed to be by jumping on the bed (already impressive, it's about 3x her 4-legged standing height), pinning me down with her front paws, and licking my eyelids. I explained to her that I do not negotiate with terrorists and would continue to sleep. She adjusted her weight, pressing her sharp little elbows into ribcage. I'm online now, so you can guess who won.
