General Discussion / Re: [MILK] There were 12 eggs here what did you do with them? (Happy thread?!)
« on: January 01, 2022, 10:29:44 am »My good news is that last night's 12-hour shift was my last one on that job, I quit. Working in a house full of the mentally-ill was more than I could take after 8 months, especially because of the hatred and violence some of them exhibited. At first it was a genuine, noble effort to help them and I enjoyed it. Then the good boss who understood the residents' needs got fired and the new boss began moving things in a stupid direction. Examples: a.) How can telling adults with the mentality of spoiled children that they can "do anything they want" and that the staff can't tell them "no" or have good house rules that teach them self-discipline ever turn out good? or b.) Treating the staff like children by taking away the key to the thermostat because one of them turned the heat up 2-degrees in a house that has been cold year-round to 75% of the staff and all of the residents.
Wow, that's off my chest now. I've literally been singing at random in joy at the relief of leaving that place forever.
HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ME !!!
Dang yes. Bad management can ruin things faster than anything, and there's been a growing push to have managers who don't know the job. Congrats on leaving.
