Masterwork DF / An observation on the nature of Fortress Defense civs

I've been playing adventure mode a lot and this just sort of occurred to me. A lot of the higher level fortress defense civs are comprised of rather powerful individuals with custom made bodyparts (Furies have steelfeather instead of normal flesh, beakwolves have fiendscale (I think that's the name), fiend spiders have fiend plate, ect). Now, a lot of these can only be reliably handled by an adventurer in steel gear or by a pretty developed fortress, which leads me to come to another observation. When Dwarf Fortress starts fleshing out military campaigns and massive battles occur past world gen (battles the player could participate in), these creatures will probably easily overpower the armies of most other civs. Furies for example, essentially have biological steel armor, and don't need to eat or sleep, and furthermore may not even age. They'll wipe the floor with most other nations if any are near them. Same with a few other species. Because wars are all processed in the background in this version, its not really a problem. But once wars start becoming more detailed, something's gonna need to be done to address this or these civs will consistently genocide their neighbors. And that isn't necessarily a good or bad thing but it will certainly shake up the world map and there may as well be a plan for it now. But its late so sorry if I articulated this poorly.

Exactly what it says. Obsidian had a perfectly fine tile for them but for some reason it has been replaced with the default b symbol. I have no idea why this is but if I had to guess, I'd go with a conflict of some kind with the new tileset update. But I dunno for sure so it could be something else.

Speaking of NPCs lacking a tile, the Jotun civ from the artic additions submod could really use some love. I haven't seen any spritework for them. But that's just me going on a tangent, my primary concern is fixing the Blendec issue.

Masterwork DF / Melting Werebeasts Bug

Yeah basically whenever I see a werebeast from the werebeast civ they bleed out in seconds. Made a werebeast character myself to see what all the fuss was about and I kept getting the message "you are melting" and then bled out in seconds. It's probably an issue in the raws but I have no idea what it could be.

So I took a few civs and had it so their guys could be armed with muskets, but its occurred to me that if I play a musketeer, replenishing my ammo would be incredibly difficult. So I was wondering where I could go in the raws to add the ability to craft stone bullets. Maybe it isn't the most realistic solution but hey, its something.

EDIT: Also what skill is musketry tied to? Crossbowman?

EDIT EDIT: Its actually Blowgunner. Huh.

MORE EDIT: And for some reason I don't spawn with any ammo. My raws look like this, am I doing something wrong?

Masterwork DF / I crash every time I load a save in adventure mode.

What it says in the title. Whenever I generate a world and make my character, and even start the game, everything goes fine. But when I save the game and reload, it always crashes. Can anyone help me?

EDIT: It seems to always happen on the "loading artifacts" section of the loading screen.

EDIT EDIT: Generated another world, this time I crashed on the "loading squads" section.

Masterwork DF / How to add a race to the mod?

Hi um, I was just wondering how I could export a race/civ, tiles and all, into Masterwork. I've got no intention to distribute it or take the credit, its just for my own personal use. That said, if this sort of thing is somehow frowned upon even then, I'll stop looking into it.

Maybe I've misinterpreted this, but apparently Fortress defense has its own graphical sprites now. Are they in Masterwork and if so, which tileset do I need to use to see them?

Does it essentially make it so there are only four sides in a conflict or is there the possibility of fighting between two slaving nations and stuff?
