Hello everyone,

When i loaded an ongoing Fortress today i got the message : "Missing Creature Definition : NARWHAL," upon loading
The World and the fortress where started with the version 0.47.04 so far i want running into any issues other then the usual crashes back to desktop that comes with every older fortress.

Is there any way i can manually fix it by adding the creature into the the world ?
If not is there any way on retiring the fortress and the world ?
I have a backup save but its 1 year old and i designed a lot of mechanical stuff in the meantime so i really dont want to use it.

Raiding works fine, if they get it done they will come back with items and artefacts from the site but if i send them out to get an artefact or rescue seomeone they just leave and return one tick later with an empty mission report.
if i raid  a site with prisoners in it they will jsut return with items not with the prisoners

The new version is nice and all but i really miss a lot of the functions that are coming with DF Hack, especially the micromanagement has gotten out of hand without it  :-\

Short version , i want to bodyswap into one of my dwarfs in one of my old fortress for an ongoing lets play project with a background story
I got send some code i need to implement somehow but i dont know where and how i could get it to work, so if someone could help me in here i would be really happy  :-\

I have a army of weaponsmiths but they seem to be great fans of zinc shortswords instead of using the adamantine wavers right next to them

DF Gameplay Questions / Starting a war with the elves

Hey guys, i started a lets play with a fortress which had the idea to be a offensive fortress directly in elvish forests.
The idea was to start a war as fast as possible and deforesting everything while defending against the elves.
Problem is that the elves wont declare a war despite me deforesting everything, insulting traders and seizing wares and killing a few of them.
What would be the quickest way to mod the game in a way that will make them atack/ declare war ?

I wanted to make  a waterhole with crocodiles, but whenever i shove a enemy in there he just kills my crocodiles with his fists and they wont fight back any suggestions ?
Same with Helmet Snakes

DF General Discussion / Generatig the same world twice ?

I just started a new Lets play and managed to generate a pretty interesting world but it was created in Version 42,
if i want to use it in the new Version is there any way to port my safe file and apply the patch or generate the world again ?
I have some pretty need stuff like a lost vcivilisation that has still 40 Dwarfs remaining and is ruledby Goblins or a human civilisation that has been founded by a Vampire which Grandfather is also a necromancer and is still around as his diplomat and so on.
i really dont want o loose it so if there is no way i will contuinue playing in 42
