"Not so much, but I'm assuming they study the religion. Is that what you would call yourself?"

"No, nothing like that. I was just curious about a few religious things, figured I'd talk at you while you looked at your staves."

He inclined his head towards the marketplace crowds into which Farra had just disappeared.

"After you."

Liam looked around, a little surprised.

"Funny... I'd almost forgotten how a living city felt like. Wonder if they have a messenger service running here."

Of course, it was uncertain if they would risk passage to Chilcinne... not to mention the likely higher fees due to danger on the roads even if they did.

"Where do you suggest we go first? Split up, get our supplies, see the sights?"

Liam pieced his armor back on, having examined his wounds in the intervening period of time. It had not been as bad as he feared - even though the bandit leader's axes had knocked him down and taken all the breath out of him at the time, his armor had done its job. The cuts and bruises were manageable, if nothing else. He would just have to ask Sharne or one of the others about the herbal remedies they had been using for less serious wounds later.

A small grunt escaped him as he stood. Then he joined the others as they began to discuss a burial. He had hoped to stay ignorant on the topic, but now that he'd heard, there was no use denying the truth.

"Guess I probably don't want to know, then."

Unless he saw any bodies, he'd just assume the locals had been driven away.

Liam sat heavily at the edge of the oasis, watching his reflection and considering whether to shed some of his armor. He made no move to do so, but at the very least, he would have to eventually examine his wounds.

Liam groaned and sat up.

"Someone help me up, will you?"
