Find a new lair in the mountains.
but what if there are no mountains? THEN FIND SOME.

You try to find a new lair!

hmm.. You fail to find a new lair. Not only that, but you fail to find mountains. You're sure you've seen a mountain range in the distance...

I would probably answer if asked, but try to remain unobtrusive in general.

((I will be gone for a couple of days. Assume that I protect stuff in this order: my life, my pick, my still setup, and the rest of my gear. I am not above dirty fighting or lying))

Find something to eat to grow bigger.

+1
Undaunted, you decide to try again. you find a full grown buffalo, taking it down easily. +6 hunting skill. You then devour it ravenously, and grow in size.

I assume no responsibly and gained no benefit from the foolish desire of my "Colleague" to steal your backpack.

Eat the thing, get bigger.
you eat the bob-cat(cat-bob?) and attempt to grow larger. You are met with abject failure. You felt close though!

WANDER, LOOK, ADVENTURE.

PERHAPS WE COULD FIND SOMETHING MORE THEN PETTY ANTS AND ANIMALS, LIKE A RUINS OR A WIZARDS TOWER.

You decide to explore the area around your lair. It's probably important to know what goes on in your area.
You do a thorough exploration of the nearby area, but by the time you return, you've forgotten it all.

On the bright side, you finally caught something! a bob-cat to be precise.

Ride the foal to the ends of your domain.

Umm... you do know that you are a dragon, right? so, you can probably go faster than a foal. just saying.

basically, I recognize that any ale/booze I make down here will taste horrid. So, I plan to just get relatively pure alcohol, and mix it with water for a pick-me-up/pain deadener vodka style flavorless drink, and un-diluted alcohol for disinfection of wounds, that I plan to sell to Dustan in exchange for medical services.
Okay, that makes plenty of sense.  I have some content prepared about the ale, of course; and if you're looking to get your hands on some in order to concentrate the alcohol, then that sounds like a real asset to the team.  Until you die in the next scene.  But I wish to remind everyone that you are all playing on the "same save" and there is a "preserve your progress for the next people to advance" system.
I also plan to gather cave lichens, mix it with a little bit of alcohol with the micro-organisms that turn cellulose into sugar and sugar into alcohol, to get some kind of disgusting cave swill.

HugeNerdAndProudOfIt: I looked up historic ale-making, but I didn't look up historic distilleries.  If that's all it takes, then of course, I'll just wrangle some prices for you.  So that I can prep items, what exactly are you looking to make with this?

try to get work for the day at the brewery, and see if I could purchase from anywhere a tube bent at a ~75 degree angle about 3 inches from one end, and a ~115 degree angle at the other, a sauce-pan, something to keep the pan elevated above the fire, and see if I can get a water-vapor tight lid with a hole that I could attach one end of the tube to. Thats about all I would need. put it all together, attach a water skin to the other end of the tube, and bob's your uncle. that's about what I meant when I send portable still. I recognize that several of these things may be specialty parts, namely the tube and lid, but I am willing to pay a premium for a rush job.

Interesting, though I'd need more information.  How many of these components are made out of metal?

An iron skillet exists already (5 opal, weight 3 kg).  The lid would go on the pan, correct?  Covered pans are easy, and people often want a vent in their cookingware.  I've been glossing over the "suspending a skillet over a fire" thing, assuming that you could prop it up with shale on a moment's notice.  I can make up other details so long as nothing requires materials other than metal or leather, as those are the primary resources.

any number of them, metal is preferable to most other materials. Let me think... yeah, I think just about everything could be metal, and you could use a leather ring to seal it. so sure. problem with a skillet is the lack of high walls. I'm thinking something that could hold more liquid than a skillet, more like a small cauldron than a pan. so, metal is good for just about anything, with a little bit of leather for better seals here and there. I don't want to have a huge operation, just every night I could do 1 batch of liquid. I would have to monitor it and keep it from getting above waters boiling point, while above alcohol's, but doing one batch shouldn't take that long, and I can use the campfire after everyone has cooked the food.

you're counting my looking for work and a portable mini-still, right?

If Dustan sees fit to give me opal, claim it. Work at the brewery, and try to get a little booze(less than a flask-full) in exchange for some of my wages. Determine if I could afford to buy a scaled-down distillery that i could bring with me, capable of processing at min 0.5 waterskin of liquid into a more concentrated version of that liquid. if so, buy it. If offering 1 chunk of workstone or hematite or the opal equivalent could "sweeten the pot" enough, buy it. if I can convince the others to provide for some of the cost in exchange for sweet, sweet, problem solving booze on the road, buy it. if not, save my wages. Sell all my workstone and hematite. Buy 2 waterskins for 4 opal. buy 3 days of food for 15 opal.

Find a temporary lair from which to observe your trap, and then observe it.
P.S.
I believe that presous is spelled as precious.

you look around for a temporary lair and find a small hollow in a tree. unfortunately, the trap still fails to get triggered.

you hunt around for some food. your hunting skills are sorely inadequate however. +4 hunting skill.
