Order our forces to focus fire on the carnifex and join them in bringing it down with our plasma gun.
+1

Them trusting our orders is basically what a commander is, so I'll take it.

Design a low-intelligence slave-inclined mind and install it n a local transportation coordination system(a set of traffic lights would work if they still exist). It should be ordered to avoid detection, observe its environment, and serve its creator.
If your interested, everyone uses self driving cars slaved to a main control system
18+3=21
the programming goes off without a hitch, and it's in the system by the next day.

Ask Jonathan Namil what we can do to help keep his artillery alive and killing Tyranids. Also commend our troops on their competence. It's nice to have personnel who can keep themselves and others alive.
16+1=17
he can't think of anything more for you to do, but he does tell you that reports say that the city is almost empty.

there not your troops, they just trust your orders.

16+3=19
they notice a tyrannid carnifex charging your position.

Politely ask one of the artillery operaters who is in charge that we should talk to, so we are better able to keep the Tyranids from killing them all.
8+3=11
they direct you to there leader, Jonathan Namil

20+3=23
the scouts tell you they noticed a strike force moving in but they dispached it.

Most useless nat 20 ever.

Determine who's directly in charge of the artillery group we're supporting. Post watchmen to keep an eye out for enemies and friendlies while we figure out things.
3+1=4
you aren't entirely sure who's in charge here.
8+3=11
you post a few watchmen.

Set up lines and fire til they're dead. Afterwards set up defensive positions and wait til someone takes charge of us.
15=3=18
You stet up lines and repulse the assault.

Determine the chain of command.
4+1=5
you're not entirely sure, but you think the rank above guardsmen is the company commanders, but beyond that your not sure.

Shift direction towards where we think the artillery is and continue on in the same fashion as before.
14+1=15
you make it to a group of artillery.
17+1+3=21
you notice a few termagants heading towards your position.

Alright, let's set out at a slow pace towards the Guard, keeping an eye out for the Artillery. Make sure to watch for tyranids and hold position to properly fire on them when sighted.
9+1=10
you think you spotted an artillery unit, but you aren't sure.
6+1+3(tyranids are Huge)=10
your fairly sure there are no tyranids near you.

A relevant quote for this situation. "Rifles don't kill people. Artillery does." Let's manuever our group to our artillery and set up to protect them so they can do their job of killing the enemy before the enemy kills us.

We should also do a head count of our troops as we are apparently the new lead.
2+1=3
you fail to locate the artillery.
19+1=20
There are about 20 guardsmen that will follow your orders that make sense.

As our helmet obviously got in our eyes, let's shift it out of our face and look again.
11+1=12
the main forces of the imperial guard are grouped in this artificial plain for farming. The main force of the Tyranid's are in the capitol city of Enporol, about 3 miles to the east, and are pouring out in a seemingly never-ending stream towards the plain.
