Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Screen shot from my friend, our site government is the Diamond Hammer (coolest random gen name btw).

That's a photo made with a phone, not a proper screenshot.
And it doesn't show the war/peace indicators, the yellow (or was it blue?) letters to the right behind each faction.
Tell your friend to make a real screenshot that shows the whole thing.

it literally shows that, look at the picture. It doesnt matter how its taken as long as it shows whats needed.

I have a group of 10 friends that i've been playing games with for years so i was going to make 10 naked dwarves with knives and give each of them ONE skill. One would have reading, one would have knife fighting, one would have swimming, one would have riding, one would have fighter, etc. Maybe give them an item for their skill (riding would get to start with a horse, maybe the throwing guy gets a few knives instead of just one) and just see how long we all survive. It makes each one dying a lot more important because if, for example, we lose the reader we just cant read anymore. See how long it takes for us to make it from naked outsiders to full steel legends and how many of us survive that far.

DF Dwarf Mode Discussion / at war with own civ
« on: November 14, 2018, 06:54:30 am »
I am playing a succession fort with my friend, and earlier today I finished my turn and sent it back to him. He was going through the civ screen and noticed that we are at war with our own civilization. I noticed that the liason stopped coming by but I never checked to see if we were at war with them. We thought this could be cool as we could conquer our own civ, but you can't attack any of their settlements on the map because you are still considered to be a part of it. They have yet to come and siege us though. Does anyone know if its possible to get to be at peace with your own faction or what causes them to declare on you? I sent some raids out vs some goblins that we weren't at war with, but I don't think that'd be the cause. Let me know what you guys think.

Yeah they just wander caverns. I had 11 of them at one point, basically free cavern guards. They succesfully killed off 8 forgotten beasts for me. However, now there is only 3 left so i do have to have guards down there :(

I sent my dorfs out once to pillage a Goblin pit. All they archived was to kill 5 Gobbos, nothing valuable to bring back.
I assume it depends on the situation and what they have 'acess to' at the given time. After all, if some Gobbos invade your Fort you aint giving them full acess to your fort that easily either.

I mean I'm assuming that if they stole the books they got into the tower. It must have been pretty hilarious watching FIFTY DWARVES sneak into a tower undetected. They need to up their security.

The report for whose interested. Could be some potential !fun! from that last entry

DF Dwarf Mode Discussion / Raids
« on: December 05, 2017, 05:12:48 pm »
Will it ever be possible to actually raid the villages/towns? I sent my 50 dwarf army out to go attack the tower that keeps sending zombies to attack me and instead of slaughtering the necromancers they just stole all their books and came back. I sent them 5 more times and literally none of them even got in a fight. Will this be an option soon or am I missing osmething?

it may be a DFHack thing, I'm not super versed in this game. But in the 0.43.05-r11 version I could click on things (such as workshops) with the mouse to queue up jobs. I'm talkin just click on the blacksmith and it selects it. Is there an option to enable this? I've tried doing searching on the forums but haven't come up with anyone else even mentioning it. I've been playing without it but I've used it for so long it is kind of muscle memory.

DF Gameplay Questions / Having issues encrusting stuff with Gems
« on: June 18, 2017, 11:09:16 pm »
Spent the last 8 hours trying to get my guys to encrust my furniture with gems but no one will actually do it. I've tried manually queuing them up and setting them as priority and doing it through the manager. I am playing as humans, do they not have the tag? If they do not is it possible to edit something to allow them too? Thanks in advance!

DF Dwarf Mode Discussion / Re: Question about engravings
« on: April 18, 2017, 03:21:03 am »
from what graphic pack is that from ? i like the dwarf graphic.
From phoebus one I believe.

There's an option in the options file to turn it off as default. Then wiki says use d-v to turn off ones which are already showing.

thanks that worked, for some reason when i tried looking on the wiki I couldn't find anything.

DF Dwarf Mode Discussion / Question about engravings
« on: March 21, 2017, 08:25:42 pm »
So recently I downloaded the game again to play some more to prep for the new updates coming out in hopefully a few months. When I was playing Fortress mode I told my dwarves to engrave stuff and it changed all the tiles to be the picture of whatever they were engraving which really makes the fort look terrible. When I last played the graphics packs I used just changed them to be fancier looking walls with like squiggles and stuff on them. Is there any out there that still do this? Is it some sort of bug?

DF Gameplay Questions / is there a way to sim into the future?
« on: November 17, 2016, 04:21:22 am »
Is there a way to sim your world into the future after character creation? I made an adventurer and I retired him, but now I'm interested in seeing what happens to him during retirement and if he does anything noteworthy afterwards. He killed a few bronze collosusi during his adventuring days so he isnt too shabby. I tried playing Fortress Mode to sim it in the future but I always get burnt out on a fort after about a year or two ingame and that isnt really enough time. Any suggestions?
