Yes, a lot of Steam users are garbage, but y'know what? Steam reviews currently are the only reviews which I trust, partially because it comes from fellow gamers, and not just some "professional reviewer" I've never heard about and don't care about. Plus you can't write negative reviews for, let's say, CoD without actually owning it. Metacritic, IIRC, doesn't care if you have the game or not, so you can write negative review for the game you hate, yet don't actually played. There are not a lot of the reviews on Steam which are simply "THIS GAME SUCKS!", thanks to the requirement of owning the actual game, because no sane individual would purchase the game just for the sake of writing "THIS GAME SUCKS!". Steam reviews which are displayed on top of store page of the game tend to be objective and almost always written by people who know a lot about the game/genre/video games in general. There's still a lot of poorly-written reviews, which are either just furious fap or equally furious hate, but most reviews displayed on the top of store page are quite objective and civil.

I've seen reviews with restaurant theme before. IIRC, there was review in the same style about Fallout 4, but it was in Russian.

Difficulty dissonance

The only example I've encountered so far was Skyrim, but damn, it was probably the biggest flaw of the game. I firstly played Skyrim on Adept (aka "Normal", excuse me if I'm wrong) and pretty much killed everybody on my way, except the dragons. I switched to Master after I hit the fifth level, cuz I've read that Master (or Very Hard) is the most optimal difficulty, yet it resulted in damage sponges who can take a large amount of punishment and kill the player in 2-4 swings (depending on the weapon type). Even poorly-equipped bandits could kill you easily, even in Dwemer armour. At first, it was frustrating, but then it simply became boring thanks to the uninteresting combat system and already mentioned before damage sponges.

TL:DR - Extremely easy when you are playing on Normal, but extremely frustrating when you are playing on "optimal" difficulty.

Intrigues in the WH40K universe combined with RTS part during the battles? Crusader Kings II but with DoW's RTS and base building during the battles? Ugh, my imagination is not working today...

This old fuck depicted here managed to live long enough to make me start screaming profanity at my monitor. I fabricated two claims on his land without noticing that he has tons of allies, so I decided to wait till he dies (his heir was lazy, dumb and suffered from syphilis). So instead of dying, he lived like 13-15 years since I fabricated the claims. Then he dies and I crush his heir without any troubles, but as a payment, I contract Slow Fever and lose an arm during the treatment.

I probably shall share my stories somewhere on official subreddit, in "Feudal Friday" thread.

When I'm looking at Teneb's forum avatar, I want to give a head massage with gel to a dude depicted on it. His bald head is not shiny enough but still looks quite sexy. He simply needs some gel for the head in order to look sexier.

The very concept of "truthful" Mass media/Journalism is self-defeating. If mass media stops feeding propaganda and instead starts telling the truth, then the majority of the people will need to have their very own opinions, which will destroy the very concept of "majority" and "masses". As we all know, the masses can't have their opinions form without state/journalist propaganda. They simply don't have enough brains/time to discuss the complexities of our world, so they just turn on TV/read a newspaper/go on The Internet, and trust all the biased bullshit the mass media/journalist spews. For example, if in my country (Russia) the mass media suddenly starts to tell the truth about the pro-Russian terrorists in the Ukraine, and how they hurt, rape and mutilate their own former friends and acquaintances just because they heard that Russia has better paychecks (not really) and that Ukrainians just want to take their rightful territory from the terrorists back, then it will give your typical Russian citizen an existential crisis (if he's not too blinded by nationalism, of course). So yea, if the very essence of mass media is to being biased, then how it can be "truthful"? Hell, the majority of Russian citizens will claim that Western mass media cannot be trusted because they are (OHMYGODOHMYGOD!!11) biased against the Russia. Same will say the majority of Westerners about Pro-Russian mass media, "they cannot be trusted because they are biased against the West". We all love One True Bias/Source™ while dismissing the other biases/sources as "wrong ones".

TL:DR - There cannot be a "truthful" and "unbiased" mass media/source because the very essence of the mass media (and humans as a species) is in being biased. Of course, it's my opinion, you don't have to agree with it. After all, it's "Unpopular/Controversial Ideas Thread"!

@ itisnotlogical - ChairmanPoo's avatar makes me a little bit uncomfortable. I think I'll just AdBlock the avatar to don't see a muscular body with a face for a crotch.

That poison hurts though, holy shit. I think the Geckos give poison too with the spray attack.

Are you sure that Giant Cazadores in the base game? Giant Cazadores appear only in Honest Hearts DLC, according to wiki. Standard Cazadores are still a pain in the ass, it's just that Giant variety can (and will) kill you in 2-3 hits.

And yea, Green Geckos are poisonous and deal huge damage.

As much as I love Uncle Iroh, pride is awesome in CKII, cuz it gives you a bonus to prestige. So I'll keep trying making my characters into crazy, deceitful, baby-torturing fiends. Also, good is boring.

As for my WTF:
I installed Titanium Wars mod for Dark Crusade and was surprised that Imperial Guard wrecked me as a Chaos. IG is pretty weak in vanilla, but they're competent in the mod.
