DF Gameplay Questions / Splitting Seed Bags

Let's say i have a seed bag with 50 plump helmet spawns in it. And i only want to sell 25 plump helmet spawns at Trade Depot, or i want to take 25 plump helmet spawns out of the bag for no specific reason. Is there any way to do this?

My dwarf therapist autolabor system acting strangely. Whenever an immigration come, dwarf therapist assign labors to dwarves that don't have any skill points on it. But dwarves that have skills on a labor don't assigned automatically. It's annoying to organize everything when every immigration arrives.

Thank you for all responses guys, it's been very helpful.

I think quiver was the problem because i uniformed my marksdwarf army without quiver.
Also i found that sedimentary layers can always be found near rivers (stream not brook).

DF Gameplay Questions / Problems about marksdwarves, burrows, keas and iron

1- My marksdwarves won't shoot with bolts at all. They have 100 copper bolts assigned for both training and combat, in training everything seems good. But whenever these dwarves are sent to kill something, they always try to club the enemy with their crossbow and won't shoot. What am i doing wrong or is it a bug?

2- I need to assign civilian burrow to keep my non-military dwarves safe. But when they are on burrows, job cancellation messages keep spamming insanely. How can i manage to disable that?

3- What can i do with kea problem? They interrupting my dwarves jobs and stealing my items. I read somewhere that you can make crossbow towers to
chase keas. How can i do that and how fortification thing work exactly?

4- I can not find iron and flux at all. I tried at least 5 different embark but even it says "shallow metals, deep metals and flux stone" on embark screen, i cannot find any of them. (Also i set minerals: everywhere when creating world)

So if i can make meals with only 1 food type then what's the point of the other food types , hunting, fishing etc.??  Is different food types trigger happiness?

Hello folks i have two questions about cooking and butchery

1- Can i make meals with using same ingredients?
for ex: to cook fine meal can i use 1 p.helmet + 1 p.helmet + 1 p.helmet recipe or do i have to make it with different ingredients for ex: 1p. helmet + 1quarry bush leaf + 1 prepared organ

Sometimes my cooker do it  with same ingredients but sometimes don't. Is it a bug?

2- What can i do with dead animals? My lamb starved to death and i don't want to waste his meats. But when i order butcher's workshop to "butcher a dead animal" i get; "Needs butcherable unrotten nearby item". I know my lamb's corpse is not rotted because she's just died. What should i do?

Hello friends, i'm new to this game, i'm using peridexiserrant starter pack. And some of the features of this pack are confused me.

First, what is "Strict Population Cap" and what's it differences with normal Population Cap

Second, How can we set Children Cap actually? When i click child cap it's opens two different setting window, first one is "Absolute cap on babies + children" and the second one is: "Max percentage of children in fort" what are that means? And which one of them will be selected as actual child and babies cap?

DF Gameplay Questions / Dedicate farm plots to specific dwarves

I have 6by6 2 farm plots and 2 farmers. I want to dedicate one farmer per one farm. Is it possible?

I ask this because my 2 farmers always process one farm plot and they don't care about the other one. It's a problem for me because i want to grow 2 plants in one season.
