Dexter seems uneasy as Amadou finishes his presentation.

Well, your species certainly has perfected many ways to kill each other.
However, I would like to make one thing clear. The last person who threatened me barely escaped with his life.

Time for a side project. Try to find some scrap electronics and metal at the junkyard. Construct a rudimentary robot.

What technology level are we talking about right now. Based on the "militia", I'm assuming early-late colonial period?

Pretty much yeah, but things like MG's and mortars exist  as well. I'm pretty open on this front.

Also magic is allowed, so feel free to do pretty much anything within reason

You are all residents in a small village that is currently under siege. The local militia was unable to mount a proper defense by themselves, so they have enlisted everyone capable of fighting. However, even with the added numbers, you're still greatly outnumbered.

How will you defend your home?

Villagers: 1,250
Attackers: 6,000

The enemy will kill 10 town members a turn

Actually, let's get some acceptable chemical-making lab equipment first. Might even help us get our scorpion venom to a higher quality.
+1

Dexter attempts to prepare the food in the manner described earlier, but fails miserably, resulting an a substance kind of like a bowl of crunchy applesauce. He is apperantly oblivious to the fact that he did it wrong.

So, this is what humans eat huh? Better get used to it.

After (somehow) eating his "food" he kind of just stands near his new teammates and stares uncomfortably. He does however very nearly get stepped on by the random dragon busting in.

I'd put our point into leadership. We're a Captain, and will probably be able to use it to pretty good effect.

As for how we spend the 10 hours, I suggest taking a nap at some point. I'd do it after whatever the other people suggest.

(( ok so before we get our first actual mission, I have a question about how casting magic works. I would just say "Dexter casts Arcsnism>Destruction>Entropy at >Enemy1<" right))

In response to Asker of Questions's "wooing", Beatrix says that while she is not opposed to a relationship with him, it may be too early to have children. There is still much work to be done, and she won't be able to properly assist while pregnant.

In short: Relationship? Yes. Children? Not yet.
