I like the idea of a dedicated cleaning zone, though I do the 2/7 3/7 water thing too.   Aside from the stream on my current fortress I have grates around wells so stuff drips and disappears.

Good to see a discussion and support for this idea.

For me the breeding only refers to the best meat for a kill,  Sure you can slaughter to weak too, but mainly it's so I know for sure that  Bull #3 in the list is in fact the "Muscular, Fatty, and over all gigantic" when food is scarce and not the "Small, weak, and tiny" runt off spring of something, and yes it helps to get you the best "mutant cows" (like the butterball turkey's that can't even breed without human interference cause they're to big to mount the female turkey)

In closing, glad to see some discussions and I may have to try a few of the other round-about ways.

anyone know a program that only unpacks the first layer  of info,  instead of trying to uncompress the already compressed .dat files?  ZipGenus and IzArc Both wanna open those and are like "Unable to open... checksum failed"

Hmm. what did you zip the world with? might need to grab that prog to extract the region

I have a 153 year large North America world if you want it I tried to get more but from what I've seen the problem is the absurd amount of creatures that spawn and survive in the North America worldgen.

I mean it has 1025186 frill sharks, 888971 gray wolves,204548 fire geckos, 926560 giant ants, 1262172 feral dogs, 9098042 turtles, 163948 glowing ones, 2245473 crundles, 1324443 reptile men, etc. The larges numbers seem to be the aquatic creatures so I guess you'd never have to worry about running out of fish especially if you had an ocean side embark.

If you want it though I'd be happy to upload it.

That works for me, I'd be happy to adventure in that world

Anyone got a pregenned world? Everytime I stop this DF leaks and freezes before finishing offloading the site records.   I can't get a world generated

Large North America, glaciar in the right place,   31.18, With at least 100 years of history

Swapping works  (besides the crash when it jumps to a creature not revealed), though it doesn't seem to pick up custom races,  anyone get this to work with a swap with alternate character races, (Like Genesis with all it's non-van creatures)   I can't seem to get it to switch to a Marsh Dwarf (City-based trader dwarves I made.)

It's kinda weird, it shows the name of said dwarf , in this case cilub, but when I jump to that name it puts me to the nearest human companion (Again the dwarf is from the Marsh dwarf entity I added)

My favorite from Adventure Mode where the Wizard Towers,  I actually started a couple characters that died right away from spawning in a "magical floating building"  built over the ocean... other joys from the mod was walking into a town getting a massive lag spike and witnessing a keep sink into the sea.

Dwarves don't always adopt, and I'm mainly looking from the slaughter perspective, when you set them to be slaughtered the order in the U list or the V-list in the cage is not the order they're in on the Slaughter list,  I think it's something like  the order they arrived to the fortress in, which is a pain to remember, I mean sure you can do "set this animal to be slaughtered" but I think that only works when they're outside a cage.

Anyways that was my idea, I apologize if I didn't clear it up more, or made it more confusing
