DF Modding / Can I hide history after world generation?

So I like the idea of having an adventurer explore the world's history, to unlock it in legends mode.
I feel like that would make me appreciate the game more as I build a new adventurer.

Buuuuttttt... I already temporarily retired a fort that is to be my base of operations and took a long time to build.
And I didn't realize I could hide all history at world gen...?
So does anyone have a way I can do that now?
I can dance the dance of the raws... :D?

Booyah. Science.

That said this only works if none of your military dwarves decide that they would rather climb trees instead of leave the map.
At which point you get massive path lag. I end up making every elf on the continent cry in order to prevent this.
Military Dwarves loooooovvvee fricken trees, especially lower discipline ones that encounter birds on the way.

Oh, and update, tribute from tower was a single instrument part.
They do not share nicely.

Oversized party of squads seemed key to gaining that tribute, but they attacked me after a year.
Seems a good method to capture some on site necromancers.

Things get faster when dwarfs kill.
This make J happy.

But all of this, yes, is what I feel is overall the best option for my dwarves and fps.
Let the weak die, let the strong get stronger, do it in a lump sum off-screen battle.

Also I was going to send out unneccesary workers as militia, like pissy fisherman squad and maybe a herbalist brigade.
Raiding and pillaging isn't just for soldiers anymore.
Maybe an emo stressed squad while I'm at it.
I have all dwarves equiped with armor anyway, to prevent rotting cloth piles, so its less of a challenge than it sounds.

But if I wanted to spend a bajillion hours figuring out pathing I would do that.
Instead I just want to figure out how to keep my raids from crashing the game (currently only sending out one small one at a time, which makes me sad.)
I do like the artifact pathing idea. But am worried that they'll be gone for years, then come back and crash the game THEN. After I've saved and can do nothing else.

Hey, I'm one of thlse people that want a larger embark and at least one mist machiene and generator. So fps is a problem.

I really want to boost it through constant raids, but as you all know they often crash in 44.09. What are the known factors for this crash? It seems like larger squad counts increase crash chance... Are many seperate smaller raids more feasible?

In line with smaller raids, are raids more successful at attacking larger, stronger forces than pilliaging is?
Are larger squad pillages more successful as well, or is it really just a question of skill and tactics?

Also has anyone been successful in demanding yearly tribute and what are the factors there? I have a tower near me and want a constant book source...
