Yeah, now I can start writing. At this moment, sitting upon the alone couch while the queen and heir are on a trip to the Northlands, enjoying a bit of drink, in a turkish robe and just finished watching John Wick, now watching The Free State of Jones. Alas I was once a History teacher. And damn if I was not good!

Thank ye, thank ye Immaterial, your information was so MATERIAL, behold the black, the lovely, Batman glowing black that is.

Speak which es de un güey tu Yu del próximo voy.

(OK I have a Spanish keyboard on the phone)

is there anyway to turn on the dark theme all over the forums, I only get it when I talk about dwarf fortress...

As far as the catering, finger sandwiches nothing better for for a circle jerk and how ironically appropriate!

My wife had taken the last two days off, so watching Nuclear Boy was secondary for me. Today they leave on a trip up north, and I am just blah blah blah. I fear the empty space of three days, hope it doesn't go down the drain in liquor (and thus ruining my diet) or worse go down the drain in lost memory. So yeah, blah.

For years now I have been looking for a Uber-forum, a forum to rule all the ones that I participate in. I think this just might be it. United by DF this forum does take curious turns, ins and outs, and covers just about everything I may well be interested in.

Welcome, to, myself!

DF Dwarf Mode Discussion / Re: What's going on in your fort?
« on: October 20, 2016, 08:18:18 pm »
As a newb, my fortress is a boring hole in the ground. Trying to simply dismantle my wagon, get a farm going, getting the kinks out of Dwarf Therapist, and keeping a close and stern eye on my dwarves- all twelve of them. I do not want to see anyone idle, but I know the moment I get a still going they are going to be drinking with the animals.

Ye gods why would they go into the trees like a bunch of monkeys? And what do you mean by lighting it? And expose to the sunlight, does that mean make it outside? And what do you mean by a diagonal?

Yeah newbie here, got an F in Geometry.

The following is a recording of the fortresses which have died in my game. I have learned quickly that if a fortress dies, you learn and you try another. At this point not sure if it will be in character or not. I more than invite anyone to put advice into the thread to succeed in the next fortress.

The first to be abandoned, with only two left is Kuletnel Zastashmabdug was retired because no one could find water any more. 80% of the dwarves died of dehydration, even some lost to the forests of the region. In my opinion because they were looking for water. Another problem with this gang of dwarves was job distribution. They had a furnace but no woodburner, manager was at first a problem. Once the wood started burning the smelting began. Also next time the company will dig and reside in places that only have stones and metals. I won't have my dwarves living in SOIL!

Miasma finally became a problem. While a lovely shade of purple, I am not sure what caused the rot, get the rotting things out of the underground?

I found a happy compromise I disabled Partial Mouse Control in the Lazy Mac Pack.

I do not have a normal mouse for my macbook. Is it an option in key bindings in DF?

DF Gameplay Questions / Ridding myself of this blasted Mac tracking pad
« on: October 19, 2016, 12:58:00 pm »
The scrolling on the map is obnoxious, more like teleporting without knowing the spot you are going to. I always wind up in solid rock. Is there a way to disable scrolling, zooming, and sidescreen action on the macbook track-pad?

I do not have the option of moving this slab post from one place to the other, alas I seem to place these posts helter skelter about this fort.
