General Discussion / DF on Macbook, oh that scrollpad is hell!
« on: October 18, 2016, 10:25:39 pm »
I am on a mac, and every time I go on the scroll pad to move around slowly, it either shifts me to a different quadrant of space or magnifies the screen to the point of madness.

What key binding do I have to kill to change this?

IT WORKED! I just had to name the network, ye gods that was rough.

33
and what about on a mac? I see most of the instructions for pc.

I try putting my local, turned on remote, but it still gives me an error.

34
Is there something special to do if you log on to a wireless router? I noticed on the IOS app it does not save my router's rather long password.

I have tried every combination imaginable, including my IP, the name of the router and its password. But if it does not save it how can it use it?

35
What graphics pack does the remote use, seems wonderful and is there a version for the desktop game?

36
If I have an ipad how do I connect to my PC's Dwarf Fortress or does that also have to be a Mac? Also does the remote work with starter packs or is it just pure DFHack or vanilla?

37
Pardon my newbs showing, but how would you make this tileset larger without sacrificing quality? Also I am using lazy newb pack on Mac.

I am stunned by the beauty and immersion evoked by this set.

And I noticed you can use TWBT on this, how do you activate it?

How would you update this, or do you simply re-download?

Tried to move the one in Macnewbie and I got

Quote
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "/Applications/Lazy Mac Pack v0.43.03-dfhack.r1-b/LNP/Utilities/Quickfort 2.04/Quickfort_converter.app/Contents/Resources/script", line 115, in run
    with open(options.outfile, 'w') as outf:
IOError: [Errno 2] No such file or directory: '../../../macros/Simple Spiral Staircase.mak'
Conversion successful. Press CTRL-L to load the macro "Simple Spiral Staircase" in Dwarf Fortress.
Error: [Errno 2] No such file or directory: '../../../macros/Simple Spiral Staircase.mak'

Works fine on MacNewb.

Also please remember, I am really newbin' so I won't be getting to Moria any time soon.

General Discussion / Re: Intro: Flammable Lint?

Thanks for the move suggestion, but alas I do not have the proper rank in the fortress to have the right to move it. However, know that I would do it if I could.

General Discussion / Intro: Flammable Lint?
« on: October 10, 2016, 01:29:47 pm »
At a ripe old age (I owned the original D&D redbox) I have discovered DF, and quite frankly I am stunned. My week has burned away like flammable lint. What a glorious creation with levels of complexity this is. Former teacher, current gamer and RPG gamer, I just wanted to say thank you for this amazing amazing thing.

Now, where is my son again?

Unfortunately, that did not work. I tried both. I put it in the Utilities folder, refreshed and restarted the program.

Nada.

I did that, I put the app folder into my Lazy newbie folder but it did not work. Would I have to shut it down and then turn it back on?

How would I add utilities to this, for example quick forts?
