I dunno if this is a problem to bring up here, but whenever I try to buy masks at the oubliette, the game crashes
but other than that, it's been smooth as butter
oh yeah, and I can't buy/upgrade hideouts anymore. is this a new thing, or can I just not figure it out?

Detlas's focus doesn't leave his handbook or relatively plain meal, either not noticing the broad question, or choosing to ignore Cylia.

It's cover-down so Stella can't see what it is, but it's a relatively small book, although the word count on any given page marks it as pretty dense.
He flips a page to reveal a full illustration of several models of axes, and a diagram with an open helmet and anvil. It seems to be about smithing tools of war.

Detlas gently pushes the bottle back towards Jonathan, his canteen sat in front of him.
"I don't drink." He monotones quietly, only briefly glancing away from his book.

Detlas doesn't answer, focusing on his meal and a small handbook.

Unsurprisingly, Detlas does the same as he always does, much like a single-minded golem or beast of burden. He wakes up early, patrols the ship to make sure everything is in place, consumes a heavy but basic breakfast, and begins his strict training regimen. He always skips lunch, eating small snacks throughout the day during his short breaks. The majority of his training is intensive core work and cardio, with plenty of muscle-building. Assuming that Jonathan is still offering his services as a teacher, Detlas also sets aside time for unarmed training sessions.
The end of his day is marked with dinner, and him quickly returning to his quarters. Presumably for sleep.
Unarmed 49/70 or 39/70 if Jonathan is not teaching

And as the feast comes his schedule hardly changes. He adds just a few new things to his meals, but eats nothing more than that. Days are still spent training. Come evenings, he sticks around for maybe half an hour before going to his quarters.
And he doesn't drink the wine.
He only drinks from a very plain looking canteen of everflowing water. In fact, he's only drank from that canteen. He's had it when he was found on the floating rock, and he's had it on him ever since. Detlas has drank nothing else, and drank from nothing else.

Detlas on the other hand is either unaware or uncaring of the holiday, and boards the ship as soon as he can. All he brings is the essentials, which is his gear.
Once on board, he prowls through as much of the ship as he can, searching for anything off or unusual.
Provided nothing of the sort is found, he moves to his quarters and waits.

Jundar, ever vigilant, notices his employer on the move.
Even if this was off-duty, the hobgoblin is the closest thing to his commanding officer.

The veteran adjusts his fancy clothes for a moment, and begins to get a bit closer, eyes locked on the situation.
Should Shredder leave after the servant, Detlas will do his damn best to keep him in his sight.

Detlas splits off from Shredder and seems to pace around, briefly looking at art. He hardly talks, and when he does, he's about as sociable and charismatic as he usually is.
Often, he casts an eye out from the crowd, searching for his employer. If he's seem, the man casts a protective gaze over the area, still on guard even here.
Eventually though, he actually seems to admire a few paintings, and purchases one.

The landscape painting wasn't pretty. No, no it wasn't. And he saw images like this his entire life. But it hits him with nostalgia. Comradery, brotherhood, and patriotism.
But much more acidic kind of nostalgia replaces it quickly. Thoughts of deserting, loss, and the cold chain of command. He steps away, contemplating the past.

The picture of the face, he stares at for awhile.
What a strange look. The man can't remember anyone looking like this. Eventually, he steps away. Its gaze makes him curious, but the last painting really catches him.

The abstract art hits him. He'd never seen anything like it. It's almost completely alien. This whole city is bizarre to him in its own right, but this is different.
His whole life has been a shifting palette of grays, browns, and blacks. Dull farms, scarred battlefields, and a rock in a cold, eternally dark sky.
The past months have seemed almost...fake. He even once considered he may be dreaming, still on his skylocked prison. Or dead. But he couldn't dream something like this. Like this chapter in his life, this painting is brand new to him.
Intrigued about exploring the feelings that this painting has revealed, the man, suprisingly, buys it.

At the end of the night it finds a place in his spartan boarding room, even if it does stick out. It makes the rather lifeless area somewhat vibrant, and he spends some time each day of work and training staring at it, and meditating.
Maybe art isn't so useless.

Day ?
Detlas will make sure that he makes the time to go with Shredder to the museum whenever the hobgoblin says so. While he has very little experience with these things, he assumes that it can't be too different from official events and various ceremonies back in the army. So on this day, he'll wash up, and take some time to go to an actual barber to get a clean shave, and trimmed hair. By the end of it, he'll hopefully look proper. But he'll probably never shake that unmistakable military look.

Day 1
Just after landing, dropping his things off, and retrieving his cash, Detlas makes a beeline to the Tradefair Market. He spends the day searching for a good clothing merchant, and uses Shredder’s exact words as he tells them “I want to attend a fundraiser at the Brelish Museum.”

Day 2
The ex-officer is always haunted by the memories of war. But recently, they’ve been of a less terrible nature. Dreams of when he was a child around 15. When instead of fighting for life and limb on the front lines, he acted as a young assistant, shunted around to help where it was needed. Much of the time was at the smithies. He learned there, and saw tools of war made day in and day out. Fond memories. Maybe just because of how everything else was.
He goes to Lower Northedge, and rents out a forge. He spends the rest of the day working on his first project. A weapon that he’s quite fond of, something that’s saved his life countless times. A trench axe. It looks like a tool shed and armory had a bastard child. With the blade of a battleaxe, the head of a hoe, and a spearhead jutting out of the top, it's likely a unique thing for those who don't have some knowledge about such things. It was made during the war, and saw immense use and popularity, especially among the infantry in the trenches. The blade could be used for cutting and chopping, the hoe for digging, and the spike for fighting in confined areas where wide strikes aren’t viable.
Renting a day at the forge and buying the materials needed end up costing Jundar 7.95 Gallifars.
In spending his time out there, he also takes in the area. Lower class, certainly. But it appeals to him. Almost reminds him of home, the few times he went back.
He decides to move from the guildhouse down to one of the boarding houses in the district, and from one Gallifar a day, to one Gallifar a week, and from comfortable to modest. Not that it bothers him. To him, a “modest” lifestyle is luxurious compared to his life in the military and nearly a decade on that rock.

Days 3-29
With his memories and skills reignited by the flames of the forge, a certain sense of pride (or perhaps it's relief over having SOMETHING to do) comes over Detlas. It’s very brief. But knowing that this weapon will help him in his next fight is...good.
His dreams are now hounded by thoughts of death. An armored trooper like he had some of the best protection you could get on this plane. That was what saved him from the blast, no doubt. Now it’s gone. It’s like his skin is gone. And he’s only felt this defenselessness starting now, since there was nothing to fight on the rock.
The man quickly draws up a set of diagrams of his old specialist armor. Expensive, arduous, and so on. He spends most of his free money on this thing, and spends almost an entire month obsessively working on it at the Arcanoforges in the Middle Menthis Spire, hiring a full team to help him.
Between this and his brutal training regimen, the man falls asleep nearly the moment he gets home.

He nods again. "I'll do that the day we land, sir." Bowing his head slightly, the man steps out of the room.

"I don't care for contacts and interior politics." He says, normally plain voice carrying some sudden aggression.
"But the few times I saw art when I was on leave was...decent. I'll go with you. Thank you for the invitation, sir." Detlas continues, tone lightening. "But I have only ever worn my fatigues and an officer's uniform. I do not know what would be ideal for something like this."

Detlas thinks for a moment, his dull gaze shifting up for a second, before settling back down on Shredder.
"I don't drink." He's silent for a bit more, before asking, "How much is a ticket?"

The veteran walks in as he's invited, nodding to the hobgoblin.
"Sir." He begins, his right arm twitching a little. He's wearing modest, light clothing. He's probably about to go training, as usual. Or just got back.
Clearing his throat and looking forward with his neutral, almost dead stare, the man speaks. "What do people do for enjoyment now?"
