I thought that was the cure to Forgotten Beast infestations. Throw "More Dwarf".  Worked for my very first FB. It only killed 20% of my fort (30 dead).

I can also have the citizen bards fight the guests.

I found this guest thing to be an issue since I was able to make the mayor meet with people.
About 1/3rd - 1/2 of my fort consists of individuals who petitioned to join. I know need a way to get rid of them efficiently and fittingly.

Since the area I am in is surprisingly peaceful, (I'v had 3-5 semi-mega attacks in 8 years. The two Minotaurs were killed by visitors.) I have been unable to throw them at threats like I would prefer.

What's yer offer?! 8)
I've got a few hundred copper, silver, and gold coins from various civilizations, and some Angel Ash

The dwarf yells.
"Not enough!"

He later yells.
"Stupid elf! You make me look bad!"

Me when I'm playing dwarves: Don't go near the caverns... They're a scarey place...

When I'm playing humans: Hey look, some big caves! Send the kids to scout it out and collect any plants you find.

That's it! That is a great way to slaughter the useless bards and poets with no useful skills improve efficiency of my computer while I build my secret project. But since I have yet to pierce the cavern layer, I am unsure about that.

Should I have the waking wastes of data slaughter the free loaders from the tavern artists convince the long term guest to leave politely.

Otherwise, I will just wait until I finish project "Endogeny".

My project, code name "Endogeny" is coming along swimmingly. Work has been slowed down by the sheer number of dwarves, humans, and the four cool elves. I need to figure out a way to get rid of the guests from the tavern who have sitting around for years.

If I can figure out a way to remove the surplus bard citizens and guests, I could further my construction of unspeakable cruelty much quicker.

Maybe some kind of shape shifter? Or perhaps it was really a dwarf who did research into stone encasement, then had an experiment go awry. This is a wonder of!!SCIENCE!! and I would suggest further research.

I need to figure out a way to dam a river. The thing is in a canyon, so that makes it much harder. By FPS is also near it's limit, so adjusting flow is difficult. When I last tried to block it up by using pumps, my FPS went into fractions.

Any ideas?

I fear my FPS is getting to a dangerously low rate. So far my plan is to close the tavern, and have the mercenaries I hired to kill all vistors in the tavern. Then I might be able to finish my river plugging project.

This sounds so sweet and adorable. I am thinking of a big woolly troll just sitting in in the dwarves' fort. He's trying to pull apart a door, but can't do it. The dwarves walk by and leave the little guy alone. Some even build walls for him to play with. He tears them apart gleefully like a little kid. He is just a nice innocent troll.

Fun fact: you can psychologically torture semi-intelligents by chaining them up and killing other trolls infront of them, then release said troll and no trolls in future will ever bother your dwarves because its really buggy & funky with relations tracking (all the wilderness pop is a community, past hostile engagements with dwarves in worldgen will affect future relations)

I would normally be horrified by this, but I am making a tower out of dog soap.
Specifically dog soap, I want to figure out how many dogs I must have killed to make it once I am done.

I am intrigued by this, I have little idea of what I am looking at due to using the default graphics and I lack mods, but that just makes this much more interesting.
Can I get dorfed up?
Like a weaver, or a soap maker. Maybe that blacksmith who made the splint if they are unclaimed.

A minotaur attacked my fort. The first chance for my huge army of mercenary battle fodder and training hammerlords to kill something.

The thing got killed by one of the mercenaries coming into my fort. Just like the last minotaur.

I fear I may have to breach the cavern specifically to get something for my 5-6 squads to die to and free up space battle for glory and honor.

So a werewolf attacked, and two or three people got bitten. I managed to lock up two of them, they both turned but they're contained. Unfortunately I didn't notice one particular visiting bard got bit in the midst of it. He turned in the middle of the tavern, and the ensuing brawl resulted in several more deaths. Next month there were even more of them. More deaths. One more month and the tavern is covered in corpses and blood. I mentioned before this is a resurrecting biome, where everyone who dies will probably come back to life. This is not a good thing.

So now the remaining 24 dwarves are occupied chasing each other and the animals around between the full moons.

I wish I could have that much !!FUN!! But all I got was a double team of
A cyclops and a were-bear a few years back. Plus the ettin who found the holes in the ceiling.

Since then, I'v just had to work on my hanging tower of dog soap.

I haven't even breached the first cavern layer after 8 years.
