I say we should have succession games based on natural anomalies. I do need to get around to sharing the volcanic tube that it sticking out of the ground like a pillar.

But madness will likely return with a new update, we have all learned how to keep a fortress sane. If we wish for a site to provide challenges, we must likely forge them ourselves.

Avenge the blood sucking parasite you call your leader! You will nearly be a for test my metal and shall sate my blood lust!
Your souls will be rendered onto the beast of canyon!

AAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!

(Good news, I finished my first real big mega project after six weeks l, should I post pics onto a new thread)

Don't you ever think what is down in the pits.
Build a roof of slade over them they said, they will last forever.
History repeats itself, soon the ants will be striking the soil barriers to unleash the spiders.

Well, I get iron quite a lot. It is thanks too use of geological luck and knowledge. For some reason, my selections near brooks and streams yield enough iron for me to make taverns in magnetite.

Yeah, mostly as fortress level farmland. But I will also use them to refil reservoirs, just need to filter it.

One of mine is getting my fort to have a signature food and alcohol, as it gives details for a specific cultural aesthetic. My current fort mostly eats roasts made from raw mussel, dog, rice, taro, and raw mussel. Signature drink is rice beer (read as sake).

Yeah, I got the same kind of thing. The only real exception is with crops that have oil producing seeds. By having a variety of them, you can produce more oil without risk of running out.

Example is growing Kenaf and cotton, or hemp and quarry bushes.

I also suggest acquiring pineapples whenever possible.

Over the years, I have noticed a rare death of a dwarf or visitor. I noticed they only happened during the months the human law maker is visiting. Said leader is also a confirmed killer and happened to be the sole witness to a murder.

So he is undead without a doubt.
But how do I deal with him? Do I start work on my defenses, deal with the vampire, then enjoy the !!FUN!!
Or should I use trickery?

The main ingredients are mussels, taro, and dog.

You can cook raw fish, they just normally rot first.
I know this because my cooks mostly make raw mussel roasts.

Simple proposal,
I have questions about dwarven flight. I suggest using various bridges to train Uristnauts. See how bridge dimensions and mass of the Uristnaut affects flight.

Yes, that's why I used visitors for Uristnauts afterwards.

I think I got a loyalty cascade by killing off tavern visitors with my mercinaries and military bards.

Lead to around 30 deaths or so. About half from one dwarf. He was everyone's favorite 16 year old hammerlord, "The Somber Lessons of Virginity".

Dear Millers,

I would like to inform you of the fortress's recent addition of several safe, reactor powered millstones. Since the new grinders are near a stock pile, and less likely to be destroyed by every passing beast, I see little reason for you not to use them.

Please, grind some of that stuff! We are running low on tallow right now and need that oil. We have more than enough cottonseed and kenaf. Will any of you learn that every 8 units of oil saves another Puppy. Seeing as most of you do not need to make soap when you lack oil or tallow, you should be perfectly able to use the millstones.

It was a lot of work to make that reactor.

Love- Your soap demanding overseer.
