you can make a 20 story pit, and in the lower levels, make something like a inverted piramid with channels. something like this

then throw all the goblins inside and make a grafic with what limbs flies more and better. (in my study, up arms flied the most... like 5 floors up).

well, i put a goblin cage just near a pit, and assigned the gobling into the pit (15 stories pit ^^). The peaseant that freed the goblin got a nice red troath, 2 eyes looped off and it falled incoscient into the pit. the next peaseant just pick up the goblin (undamaged, and hostile), and threw into the pit...
now i have engraving like "a goblin falling", " a dwarf falling"...

you dont lose a gear each time you open a cage... the mechanism attached to the cage is just near the cage, and the one attached to the lever keeps in the lever... so you end with a lever full of gears and no use.
and for the parties... kill the child or deconstruct the statues... or the 2 ^^

mmmhh... they will breed as usual in a cage... I have all my animals in cages (but cats) and they breed.

sometimes when the game spawns several entities, like when furious monkeys or dark gnomes attack your fortress for stealing, it slowdowns while the generation. when they appear, the FPS come back.

BLK stands for buckler... a dwarf can use a buckler and a shield at same time. as with chain-plate mail.

for changing the armor, make it forbidden on the inventary of the dwarf, undraft him (he will drop the armor), and then draft again. then he will get another armor, just be sure to have only high-quality armor unforbiden, and forbid the lower quality one

the only dwarves that pick silk on my fortress are the haulers... just with a little configuration on the looms you can make the highest level weavers to work in the loom, and the lower level weavers to work with the webs... and if some weavers gets enough level without being poisoned, i "promote" them. the poisoned ones finish his days on the caves.

cave spiders are vermin that only appear near the cave river... like fire snakes on magma.
it isnt a bug.

edit: they arent GIGANT cave spiders... the little ones are vermin, and can only poison randomly some dwarf that passes near it. they are harmless.

if you see the profile of the noble, you'll see that he likes adamantine...
i think the only thing that affects mandates are the likes of the noble... if a noble likes iron and axes, he will mostly order to make or forbid export of iron items, axes or iron axes.
if you see the baron with "likes adamantine", show him the full of spikes pit way.

the pump is taking magma out of a channeled tile, or a pregenerated volcano tile?

i read somewhere that pumps dont take magma out of natural volcano tiles.

i had economy start with 115 dwarves. i had 85, and in the inmigrants wave come the baron, consort, hammerer and tax collector. also i had arround 2m of created wealth (2 legendary stone crafters and 1 bone crafter makes wealth in no time).
also coins dont affect the start... i have no coins and economy works well. also, electrum coins dont count towards economy. only gold, silver and copper.

i think cloth its the best idea for a bed... better than wood.

i have read about mules living for years on flooded chambers (maybe elven mules have gills?)... so some animals dont drown at all...

also free cages (no the constructed ones) dissapear on water currents... and have infinite size inside.

people asking for magic to be implemented??? just worship the magic cage!
