"The heck are you on about? Ah well, you don't need to tell me I won't understand it. But once you got something made, just show me it. I don't need it but I do wanna see what it turns out ask, kay?" Yuta could understand some of what Shiki had said, words like useful and power and weapon, but they talked so fast, and all this stuff about transfer rates and equations, who knew what that was, anyway.

Following a frustrating few days of attempting, and finally succeeding, in splicing and fusing back together the cable of his grappling hook, Yuta needed a break. And to that end, he headed to the mines. Of course he was also doing this to support everyone else, it wasn't selfish! Definitely.

The level of the mine was shallow, barely scratching the surface of this mountain. And yet, on entering, Yuta could immediately imagine a thousand miles of rock in every direction expanding outward from him, a comforting confinement. And once he'd found a good spot to mine, the repetitive motion and sound soothed him. Clearly he'd messed up badly in that battle. Yeah Kaji'd been kinda dumb, but Yuta knew that he had no right to judge anyone for that. After all, he wasn't trying to drag himself to that other bridge, no reason that the guy would have known that he'd end up in the line of fire.

It was frustrating, but it was frustrating because Yuta'd done something wrong, and that was a better kind of frustration. He couldn't change others, but he could change himself. A few hours of wandering musing in, he hit something. Or rather, noticed a flash of light and decided not to hit further. Wires? Weird, it looked really complicated. Gently, he began tapping the rock wall around the object with his mech's hands. Needed the rock to crumble, couldn't just yank out the thing, what if it broke?

But a little extraction later, he had his prize. Making his way back up to the surface, he found some of the folks he knew liked to mess with this sort of stuff.

"Ey Shiki, I got something here, you know what this gizmo is? Cause I sure as hell don't."

"Damn this sucks man. Bullshit I tell you. Guess I'll hafta get Sensei to fix it." Yuta muttered ruefully. It'd keep him out of the mines a few days too, real shame there. Might need to have a real good talk with Kaji. Make sure he knew his place. On that note where was the guy?

Yuta searched around, and immediately became aware of the fact that Kaji was teetering on the edge of the nearest bridge, with one enemy ready to strike him off. Wellll shit. Wasn't gonna get a chance to tell the kid off if he went and died, right? Yuta piloted his mech into a leap, hoping to hit the enemy mech on the landing, and if not push it away from Kaji, at least provide a distraction and a moment of reprieve.

Honestly normally wouldn't vote for the FMJ/GE but there's nothing else and I'm not feeling that inspiring spark right now so it's fine.

Double leg scrap so that we can build a good platform for our existing and future weapons, along with advanced metals and demonic essence because I think they're neat. They can be used well to support building the frame of our system. I feel like complicated electronics and conjuration are better for weaponry, sensing, and defensive designs. The head is there because I was not sure what else to put as my 5th vote. I may change if I see arguments for other parts.

"Ya kidding me I gotta stand at the back like a coward and. . . guess there ain't no choice now is there. Yeah I got ya Lee." Yuta piloted the St. Barbara back a bit, climbing up to a vantage point that'd get a different angle on what Lee'd be shooting at, and began calling targets.

"Got three or so pushing up bridge 3 at Q19. I can't really do much save distract them right now so if I'm gonna keep calling things out, that bridge's gotta be cleared." Yuta mumbled, frustration soaking every word.

"Ya think I'm gonna hit you? Who do you think—" Yuta yelped as his mech jerked forward, the enemy reeling him in like a hooked fish, up towards the bridge. Okay okay, he could do this, he needed to avoid the scramble, the close in fight. Yuta himself wouldn't have any trouble with fisticuffs with another human, but even he wasn't so stupid as to think that fighting so many enemies at once was a stellar plan. And of course, his mech wasn't made for that either. So Yuta prepared himself to grip onto the edge of the bridge as he got up, both arms and legs, to try to wrench the cable from these foes before he was beaten to a pulp.

The plan, whether good or not, never came close to fruition. A blazing something passed before Yuta's mech, leaving him blinking, and suddenly, falling. He landed with a scraping crash, head slamming against the thin padding in the seat of the mech. Yuta and his vehicle stumbled to their feet, looking down at cable rapidly snaking into the arm. Wait a minute. . . why was it whipping around like that? Oh no. "Crap. Stop stop stop. . ." Yuta muttered, letting go of the retraction button he'd still been holding onto. He couldn't let the cable be coiled fully into the system without it's impactor, or it might not come out again. The cable ceased to retract though, leaving him with a couple feet of singed heavy duty cable sticking out the end of his arm.

"What the hell, Kaji!? I told you all not to get in my way!" What a moron, Yuta thought furiously. Definitely no way that he himself had been the moron in this situation. Still growling and grumbling, Yuta began retreating from the action. He needed a moment to figure things out if he was gonna be useful. With that in mind, he set the winch in locked position, and began swinging his arm around, hoping perhaps that the speed would be sufficient to wield his arm as a make shift whip or flail.

Yuta's scowls were unseen to pretty much everyone except himself, through combination of distance and the canopy covering him in the mech. No one would be surprised that he was making these expressions, as they formed his default response to anything that was not unambiguously good for him. And few things were these days.

He stood ready, a decent distance from the edge of bridge 3. But he wasn't planning to engage those on bridge 3 of course. He was gonna use his grappling hook for all he could. Sensei Shirou had told him he'd get a reach of 160 feet out of it, and that the line could hold his own body weight. He'd tested the latter in the mines, and yeah it could hold him up no problem. Good. But Yuta had never really used the full length of reinforced cable before. Maybe there'd be problems? Ah hell, he was sure there were probably some, but he couldn't think of any.

"I'm getting that one," Yuta pointed across to bridge 1 at one of the enemy "Stay out of my damn way."

Raising his mech's arm, Yuta put the sights on the enemy he wanted, and pulled the trigger immediately. The arm lurched in response, launching a hefty metallic impactor arcing across the gap between the bridges, straight toward the position Yuta had aimed. The position where one of the enemies had been a few seconds before. The impactor scraped harmlessly across the bridge and hung down across the other side.

"Shit!" Yuta began the process of reeling the line in. Not too long when it was unencumbered, but still precious time being wasted. How stupid was that, couldn't the engineer people have made this thing shoot faster?

"Clearly. Let's just move on." Shef encouraged Yuki to check the next number.

"Right. Kinda. We got your memories, sorta right. Not sure if there's anything more that you want to know, but there's a bunch of unnamed numbers in Noriko's phone so. . . want to make some calls? I ask because, well you may need to do the talking if it's anything like Fiona and the bioweapon thing."

Ideally, find some place to sit down and relax and not be attacked, and start by dialing the first unknown number in the phone.
