"Thank you for your time, Doctor." Shef dropped the woman off at a nearby hotel with the landlord, before returning to his apartment for a few minutes before his next appointment. About ten minutes before the scheduled meeting time, he headed down to the bar to wait. He expected Rosario to be more of the punctual type than one to sit around a while a head of time, but he scanned around looking for Rosario's signature. . . look.

"This is Hanako Kawaguchi." Shef ushered her forwards to the doctor. "She's uh. . . not had a checkup in a while, and she's been having some memory problems lately. We thought it might be a good idea for you to take a look." After having Hanako approach the doctor, for specific questions such as age, DoB and the like, Shef whispered to the landlord, "Already told him about her being missing for two years, for the record. He should know what questions to ask, with regards to whatever may have happened". Shef smiled a little anxiously. He had two sets of lies going, one that he wasn't too concerned about Hanako, and that she was just here for a check-up, and the other to Mr. Koizumi that the only thing he was worried about was her memory loss and possible kidnapping. Hopefully the doctor could be discreet.

Seeing the man who had noticed them, Bob was about to dart forward when someone in the dark dashed past him. Better, since Robert wasn't that great with hand to hand. Thus, he pulled back, trying to get out of the line of fire from the alert German, before aiming his BAR at the two men in the AA turret, ready to shoot if they seemed to notice the commotion.
Bob tries to get out of the submachingun's line of fire, and then aims at the guys in the AA turret. If they notice the commotion, he will open fire. 9 round spray preferably, but really whatever it takes.

"Don't worry, we'll get her to a doctor at some point, just not immediately." Shef muttered to the older man. "Here." Shef pointed to the entrance of a medium sized department store, which would hopefully be a good enough place to start. Once they had entered, and made their way to the travel section, Shef made an expansive gesture to Mr. Koizumi and Hanako, obviously implying that they should start looking. The gesture also implied that Shef himself wasn't going to involve himself in picking out suitcases. "Well, here we are. Pick something you like."

Preferably a real doctor, with knowledge of Awakened. Preferably discreet, to pass off as an ordinary doctor, but still give some more info to me. Can someone awaken after death? How was the body identified?

"Not certain. Her memory is lacking, but it's coherent. No gaps or anything. For now, no taking her to a doctor. If she was missing for two years, something illegal probably happened. Kidnapping or something. Ransom probably wasn't paid, since her family didn't know she was alive. More likely she escaped. Don't want to much info of her being here getting around." Taking her to a doctor was out of the question in Shef's mind, for other reasons. First of all, unless the doctor was sworn to secrecy, this would attract far too much attention. Secondly, it seemed unlikely that a doctor would be able to deal with what was likely a supernatural occurrence, either an awakened person, or an imitation of a dead woman. Even contacting Hanako's family seemed risky, but he wasn't sure how to deter it.

"Have they shut down Hanako's accounts? Seems likely, but there's a possibility that it didn't happen." Shef also took a moment, after they stepped out onto the sidewalk, to write up a text to Enn.

Did they ever find Hanako's body? And what was done with it? Currently trying to get her back on her feet without attracting attention, since that will be necessary if just awakened. If an imposter, shouldn't be a big problem. Basically shopping. Also: Know a discreet Dr. who we can take her to?

Shef's eyes flicked briefly over to the landlord. He'd have to work a bit harder at that then. How often had he actually interacted with the landlord for him to know that? Or was it because he hadn't made a point of talking to the guy. . . Always the rare possibility that the man knew more than he was letting on, possibly from someone unknown, but possibly from the AIs. . .

"I'm sure you'll manage, but things will be a lot easier if you let me and Mr. Koizumi assist. I'll only be able to do a bit, as I have an appointment later this evening. First things first, you'll need a suitcase or a backpack to hold stuff in, depending on how much you need." Shef followed along with them, heading to whichever store nearby might have suitcases. (Are there Japanese Walmarts or equivalents in the area?)

After finishing the tea, and sending a few more texts to Enn along the lines of "still alive", Shef put the cups in the sink. After reentering the small living room, he said, "Well, might as well go find you a hotel room before it's too late then. You also need to get some stuff, since I doubt you're carrying any extra clothes or a toothbrush or anything after two years. We'll need to find some way to get you back on your feet to support yourself, since you're adverse to charity, and most jobs don't rehire after two year absences and being thought dead. Might be able to pretend it was a kidnapping or something, but that would require some additional work." Shef removed his jacket from it's hook, and put it on as a sign that they could leave, and begin the task.

"Thanks for understanding." Shef took a sip of his tea. Either awakened, some type of ghost, or some other type of imposter. Isn't a brief thing though, as she's been around all day. Seems likely that she'll at least be around for a bit longer. . . Shef turned to the landlord. "Are there any unoccupied apartments where she can stay the night? I can pay if necessary, since after two years, it's unlikely that she has active bank accounts or any cash." He was, however, of the opinion that his landlord would turn down this offer, and let the woman stick around for free. Thinking back to Enn's message, and a little uncertain of what a power supply might look like, Shef glanced over the woman searching for something that might be that. Necklaces? A purse? Her wallet hadn't had anything weird in it besides the receipt, right?

Shef took a moment to type out a message to Enn.

Checking in. No danger thus far. Ideas why she would be solid except when I punched her? Currently seems to have no recollection of her death, or any gaps in memory to account for it. Please send important things to watch for if an impersonation?

"So. . ." Shef wasn't exactly certain what he could say now. Couldn't tell someone that you think she's a ghost, especially when she seemed able to touch things for the most part. . . Maybe not a ghost? Multiple timelines might explain it, having her exist in one where she was fine, and then being transferred over? I've got no mechanism that would cause any of these possibilities to occur though. . .In the end, he settled on something other than more questioning. A little abashedly, he said, "Sorry about scaring you earlier. I thought you were trying to break in, and that must have been incredibly frightening."

". . .I was getting to that." This was his own fault obviously; he should have told the landlord to keep that info to himself for the time being. . . "I know this is a lot to take in. Best thing right now is to piece together what we know, okay? And we'll do our best to help you." Shef sighed, reflecting on his errors in the past few minutes. He wasn't really the type for knowing how to properly break difficult news. No excuse though. Knowing that it might help in the long run, Shef brought over the steeping tea, and a mug for each person.

"So, Hanako, I want you to tell me if there's anything weird that you remember. We know that you were in the current time today when the gang fight happened, so something must have happened earlier to . . . transport you to this time. Any gaps in memory? And Mr. Koizumi, do you remember when you personally last saw Hanako?"

Everyone saw it. . . All the while keeping his voice calm and consoling, Shef said, "Hanako, was there anyone else testifying about the same event at the station with you? I. . . you can tell where I'm going with these questions, right? The date you told me earlier is not today's date. . . So. Either you're missing some memories, or you lost time somehow." He gave her a moment of silence to process that information, while he took the water off the stove top to cool for a moment before adding the leaves.

In response to the knocking by the landlord, Shef said, "Oh, just a moment." He made his way over, and opened he door for the man. "Come on in, make yourself comfortable. "

No. Things are currently under control, and I'm keeping an eye on her. I'll give an update every five minutes. Send back-up if I don't. Need some more info on that testimony. Add. info: Hand went through her head when punching, but seems to have physical presence now. Apparently no memory of dying. Story is: set out for work this morning, saw fight, gave testimony, returned. How did she die?

Shef kept his face unchanging as he watched the woman. If she was an imposter, was she waiting for something? Him to turn away? "So, a few more questions: Where do you work? And were there any other witnesses to thi fight you saw?"

Rather quietly, Shef responded to the landlord. "She showed up. No memory of the interim, I think. Why don't you come on over. Familiar face would probably be comforting." Shef adjusted the stove burner slightly before turning back to his guest. "Don't worry. The landlord knows you, and I invited him over." Shef smiled, before continuing with a question. "Do you remember anything strange from the walk back from the police station today?"

"No, I'm not a burglar or anything. As I said, this is my apartment, so I thought someone was attempting to break in." Hmm. She was obviously solid. Perhaps immaterial only when in danger? Or just an immaterial head? Shef shook his head in frustration, before deciding on a course of action. "Would you like a cup of tea?" As he asked, the man went over to the kitchenette, and put on a kettle to heat up. He would drink some himself if the woman didn't need it.

While in the kitchen, Shef took out his phone from his pocket to answer the text that had surprised him. He also silenced the phone.

Delivery to the safehouse would be best, and then I'll pick them up. Additionally, can you find me info on one Hanako Kawaguchi? Born 199X, should have presence in police records as a witness.

After sending off the text, he dialed the number of his landlord, exchanged a few brief pleasantries, and then inquired about whether the landlord knew this woman.
