Silence fell over the glade for a moment as the last of the charging treefolk was incinerated. Many spoke of retreat. Others kept stuffing their bags with as much as they could carry. But they were quickly interrupted as three quick notes, and a fourth, higher note, echoed from deeper into the woods. Then again, from another direction, then a third, even more distant than the others.

Will you risk further reinforcements? Or flee now?

Jonathan stepped on another, grinding it underfoot.

Atil's axe reduced the last of the treefolk in melee with him to splinters. It's body burst out in all directions.

The remaining treefolk rushed at Atil, running up the length of his greataxe before stabbing into his arm. Roots pressed and tried to grow.

Atil takes 2 damage! He must make a DC8 strength save. On a failure, he takes 9 more damage. On a success, 5 more.

Another four treefolk approach, hopping between tree branches. One of them stopped, taking a horn fashioned from a thorn, and blew into it, three quick notes, and a fourth, slightly higher.

Stella finished it with little difficulty. The arrow shattered the mostly frozen treefolk's midsection.

A tiny highpitched scream accompanied the flailing, burning treefolk as it stumbled and fell, smoldering beneath a tuft of bramble.

The treefolk staggered back, raising two hands to try to block the icy beam from hitting it's face as frost built up around it's hands and joints. Fyodor's was quite dead.

One of the treefolk grips it's head and dies. The other ignited into flame. Many of the party furiously shoveled the healing herb into their packs. Four more of the tiny treefolk emerged from a bush, rushing forward holding spear-like arm growths, bellowing a tiny battlecry!

One of the figures jabbed into Dullahan's armored shin with a high-pitched squeaking battlecry. The other did much the same, hitting Mr. Shredder's calf. The plant tendril started to twist and grow inside of him, burrowing into his muscle like loose earth.

If a 15 hits, Mr. Shredder takes 5 damage. He must also make a DC8 strength save. On a fail, he takes 6 more damage and the treefolk attaches to his leg. On a success, he takes half as much damage.

The tiny treefolk was crunchy, and wet inside. It was almost pleasant, until you tried to swallow it. Then, you realized at last, it was wood.

The tiny figure climbed from frond to frond, dangling and swinging. It cried a high-pitched battlecry as it tried to jab Mr. Shredder with a thorn on the end of it's tiny arm, but Mr. Shredder was able to flinch, swat, and/or flail the creature off of his arm before the blow landed.

Two more of the adorable saplingfolk looked up from a nearby tree branch. They looked at one another, eyes wide, and gasped, then leaped down, rushing towards Atil and Dullahan with their own high pitched battlecries.

You'd been gathering herbs for a little while, stuffing your sacks, and in some cases your pockets. You'd gathered something like a hundred gold pieces each worth of the Olladraleaf when a small figure approached Mr. Shredder. It's body was made of wood and bark, it stood some three inches high, and it grasped at the end of the fern, as if trying to pull it back from him.

You know, Sormias, this one isn't too bad. Soothes the stomach a bit.

There was little doubt about it. It was, as near as Dullahan could tell, identical to an eberron native plant, Olladraleaf. An important ingredient in healing potions, a sack of this would sell for something like two hundred and fifty gold pieces. Looking out over the woods, you could spot quite a bit of it ahead, growing in small thickets. Each of you had brought just one empty sack. Odds were, with a bit of work, you could fill it.

Jonathan cracked a thick branch off with a powerful thrust of his spear, before Dullahan's indigo blue fires engulfed the tree, turning red as the last of it's canopy lit up. Creaking and cracking, it fell to the ground. The fire spread along the trunk, flickering and blazing, but thankfully the underbrush withered without coming alight.

Past the tree, you made out some unusual ferns. Roll int/nature or wis/medicine.
