Judith briefly blue-screened as a Merlin's direct speech was warped by... Magic? Judith decided to chalk it up to magic before her brain broke. In the few moments Judith had spent with Merlin, she had enough questions to bore anyone possibly listening, but she largely kept them to herself. The less she told to someone like this, the better.

"I can assure you, Ms.Merlin, that you should stay far, far away from the folk here. I implore you to leave this place as soon as you can,"

However, the prospect of weaponry was tempting, and it didn't seem like Merlin was in much of a rush. Plus, with that strange magic she had, Judith was keen to be on her good side.

"Though if these are indeed for sale, my allies and I could use something. Please keep it quick, though, I'd rather not make them wait any longer."

Judith's guard was kept raised as she tried to figure out what this place could possibly be doing here. It should have either been ransacked or taken up by the cultists here, especially since it had weapons inside. Granted, considering that this person could either teleport, or be unnaturally stealthy, they could be one, just with their own special brand of crazy.

"Well, Merlin, I was just trying to figure out what this place could be doing out here. You seem awfully non-murderous for a cultist, and quite alive for someone who isn't one."

Silently berating herself for missing such an easy target, and doing her best to ignore the sear left in her and her mount, she turned to the grey haired woman.

"That will be Judith Wyncalle to you, miss. I'll take the time to explain after, but I can assure you that I am on your side in this. I'm going to check if there's any survivors, don't get another of the Earl's party killed in the meantime."

Really, she wished to go back in the fray, but after she completely made a fool of herself right away, she'd try to at least make her second impression kinder. Plus, it was a good getaway if the threat was ever seen through.

When Judith first sighted the burning village, she did little more than make sure to fly higher incase of particularly loose-fingered archers. She was here on a mission after all, and Judith wouldn't allow herself to be strayed from it.

"Hmpf, another small tradgey. A shame, but not a situation I have the time to deal with." Judith remarked to herself as she soared above the village, continuing the search for Earl Hagen Albin, whom she was charged to protect. She would have to reroute her escort path to avoid this mess of course, but that shouldn't be more than half a days travel, and that small lot down there could take care of themselves plenty.

Wait, was that Earl Albin in that lot?

Her speed while searching was quickly diverted downwards as she swooped in to take care of one unsuspecting soul and swing around safely to meet the group

Maria quickly glanced at Vortai, though she was more focused on not trampling anyone. Was he joking? From what little Maria had gathered from him before, he didn't seem the type to. She could be wrong, but from her quick glance, she didn't see a laugh... Not like she could see much of his face anyway.

"No...? You were just a little behind 's all. And this probably feels a little bit more comfortable than getting stabbed by other cavaliers."

Not taking the time to think about the situation at hand, Maria spurred her horse off, grabbing whoever she could discern was behind. She didn't think it was going to be the guy with the mask that slung dark magic everywhere, but right now, that wasn't the major concern.
