The King closed his eyes and sighed, opening them and looked at Count Horace.
“It is obvious a crime has been committed here, but the Grandmaster should have a chance to defend himself. Due to his absence at this diet, you may execute the ones you have captured, and Corvus knights will be responsible for reparations. The Grandmaster may appeal this ruling.”
“The Corvus knights are an independent entity, and given royal remit to patrol the Kingdom. There is no breach that the Crown has performed. The Corvus Knights in this regard have failed their responsibility, and they will be held responsible.”

827
“I would be disappointed to hear anything other than the honest answer,” he replied.

828
Tristan grinned. “Argas is a rather bit more peaceful at the moment. Though,” he looks at her armor, “ I do believe you’d get the best of any encounter. Mistress Lacie was quite impressed by you ... and your men. What is your impression of my fighting men you have seen?”

829
After the discussion with the council, the King sent an invitation to Gudrun to meet with him.

King Tristan inclined his head as Gudrun was brought to the commandeered study. Two well made chairs sat across a small table, lit by a warm fire in the hearth. The King stood by his chair, eyes steady on Gudrun.
“Welcome, Lady Gudrun. How was your travel?”

830
The King had courtiers greet the delegations from the warlords, to judge their offers and intentions. The courtiers would bring the information back to the King, and he would be able to decide further based on that. If any of the warlords came personally, they will be immediately brought to the King.

King Tristan turned to the Duke of Risfurt, "Now, I will not even hear a whisper of a second marriage to anyone. If word of talk like that got out, it could jeopardize any alliance we made! There cannot be even a hint of such treachery in our dealings." The King hissed. He rubbed the bridge of his nose.

"I cannot fault your loyalty, my good Duke. In fact, I was curious if you would be willing to also marry into one of the noble families of the Wold, if the need arose. Either you or the Duke Laranth would make very tempting matches."

831
The King looks over the divided group of nobles. “Let is break for the day, and enjoy Lord Riskov’s fair city. We shall feast and drink as we discuss how to better our kingdom as comrades and friends. We shall meet again tomorrow to vote on the proposal.

Bring the first meeting of the Diet to a close, Tristan goes to his quarters afterwards to rest and prepare for the feast. He also asks his Spymasrer what she has learned so far during the Diet.

“A good point, Grandmaster. The people of Yshius have over things they can offer in place of grain. As to the tax, we need to build up a reserve to provide for the people.”

The king turned to Avaris. “But what does our “Queen of Grain” think? Is a 25% percent tax bearable?”

833
“These freemen have earned their land through their blood, sweat, and tears. They have sacrificed and fought for this kingdom, and their payment was the right to steward this land given to them. I do not believe reducing them to serfdom is the answer for these noble souls.”

“However, it is necessary that some system of collection and supervision is necessary. I propose that local lords be able to collect 25% of the production of freemen farms shall be collected by the local nobles, and may be used for the taxes and tithe for the crown. This collection will not be taxed by the crown, so that it may be used to subsidy the nobilities tithe and taxes.”

The King looks around the chamber, “This is not a decree, I wish to hear your thoughts on this matter. A king should consider the wisdom of his nobles.”

The dragon roared as it charged, scales flashing in the sun. The ground trembled beneath the Child’s feet as he reached out and a tendril of energy flashes out, into the dragon’s chest. It’s massive heart beat one last time, then turned into stone.

The dragon froze, eyes bulging. It’s momentum carried it forward and it crashed in a heap in front of the Godslayer, dead.

You have defeated a Champion! Gain 3 experience! If you pass 6 experience gain a dice, max in a stat is 4. You have also gained Tier 2 status, making you stronger!

You have some time to prepare before the god of this realm finds you. What do you do?

You can Regain Might, which has you roll a d6, and you get that many might points. If you go over 6, you keep the might and also gain a corruption point.

You can also Recover Wounds, which will complety heal you (most of the time) but takes up your action.

You are currently standing in a desert, with several pillars of rocks and sand as far as the eye can see. You can sense the god Ashernipath to the west, probably residing in his capital. The sun blazes bright overhead.

John concentrates, and earth forms in the air around the dragon. It came up from the ground, flowing like mud, but the dragon just charged through it. Each leg smashed through rock and earth, sending splinters of stone through the air. John cried out as his spell was broken.

The Child landed on the ground, the dragon quickly regaining lost momentum as it charged and roared his anger.

(Jerick has time for one action before the dragon hits.)

The Child, surrounded by twisting writhing shadows, sends them screaming forth to the dragon. They slam into it’s body, cling to its scales, and claw their way towards its eyes. The dragon slashed at the shadows with its talons, then exhales flames that scorch the shadows away. The dragon turns to the Child, snarls and charges.

(3)
Octal, seeing the danger that the Child was now in, gripped tight the side of the ship and with his other hand swept a wave of nothingness at the dragon. The attack was hastily gathered, and the scattered energy buffeted the dragon. It snarled in pain, but hardly slowed its course as it neared the Child.

(There is time for one more player action before the dragon attacks the Child and does damage.)

The King nodded, “Excellent. I expect this measure to be temporary as we expand our stockpiles. Duke Riskov will be trusted with the responsibility for determining the needed length of the tithe to replenish the reserves of our Kingdom. Your service and contribution to the realm will be well rewarded, my lords.”

With this the king slowly sat down, his eyes locked on Lord Reynauld. He motioned for Lord Riskov to either speak on the grain storage more or move on to a different topic.

838
King Tristan stared at Reynauld, who refused to offer his loyalty and now demanded concessions from the crown. Tristan supposed that this would be the first true test of his kingship. They only saw a young man, not a king. He would have to disabuse them of that notion.

The king stood to his feet. “The Crown will no longer pay the reduced price of grain. We will instead collect a quarter of all grain production as a tithe. Any amount above that we will pay market price. This tithe will be for the safety and security of the realm, as is my right to decide as king. Unless,” he says, looking at Reynauld, “you disagree?”

839
King Tristan gazed upon the gathered crowd of noblemen and women. This was the concentrated power of his kingdom, in this room. Through bonds of loyalty and fealty, they were his to command and to lead. He felt a hint of unease at that, though he knew he would have to become adroit at manipulating the reigns of power, for the betterment of the realm.

The King gave a solemn nod in response to Lord Riskov's words. "Thank you for your support, Riskov. It has done you and your house much credit in the eyes of the realm. I will allow you to be first in bringing matters to the attention of the diet this first day."

The King stood from his throne and prepared to receive oaths of loyalty from those who couldn't attend his coronation on such short notice, and some others who wished to pledge their fealty once again.

BLOOODD
I spend two might to avoid the damage (hopefully before starlady goes kaboom), then I run over and catch ravanna, and octal.
Sounds good! Grognor weaves out of the way of the fireball. They feel the blistering heat of the dragon’s flames as they narrowly avoid it. The Starlady swoops down, and Octal, staying on the Starlady, is able to catch Ravana mere moments before impact!

Sound good?
