Now if I had a mech suit, hard suit say, with a rail gun in the 6 Megavolt range and I were to fire that rail gun at a set of 4 mages, each with increasingly dense armor made of magical substances, how long would it take my rail gun slug to finish its taxes and return home to find out his wife is cheating on him with the ICBM from across the street?

WELCOME TO GRIDRIM SURVIVAL
This time, you are not a species that found and consumed a sentience-granting fruit, you are a bunch of survivors from a crashed passenger spaceship who are trying to rebuild.

Fortunately, the planet you landed on was colonized.

Unfortunately, the planet you landed on also has an organized pirate band or two.

You start with some supplies that were in the escape pod and there might be some stuff from the wreckage nearby worth checking out.

You also have some knowledge of industrial era technologies, but you forgot your McGyvering for Dummies book at home.



Since I couldn't be bothered to type out the entirety of the guide, I just copied and pasted most of it from GS2 before editing a bit.

Introduction

Welcome to Gridland Survival 2! Its a variation of a series of games previously played on the MSPA forums and Chocolate Pi and now here called Gridhood. The gimmick with this game is that it contains only one major civilization; of which each player is a member. The game will start off being fairly simple, with new rules being added as things happen. You will be hunting for food, exploring new lands, researching technology, fending off monster attacks and maybe participating in an election or something.

Previous knowledge of the Grid games is not required to fully enjoy this game.

Signup Sheet
Here is the signup sheet. You will get three Character abilities, and if you join at the start of the game, you get two extra abilities that you can choose. Post-start joiners can still get the extra two, but they'll be randomized.

Abilities can be summed up in a single word or you can give a short description of it. This can be physical traits, personality traits or whatever else you can think of. Feel free to be creative here.

Reminder, you're humans, not creatures that somehow became sentient after eating a strange fruit. Keep traits to things humans would have.

The game will start when there's at least 5 players.

Prior to filling out the Signup Sheet...
You are not intended to pick from the list of pre-existing abilities. Every single one of the abilities on that list was initially created because it was on an application in the first place. While you are allowed to pick pre-existing skills, I formally discourage you from doing that. Bonus points for not picking the most common gender for your character.

There has been confusion with new players applying to join the game. To clarify, you are NOT supposed to include a description of what abilities do. Just include the names. If you scroll down a bit you can see the first few player's application who signed up. I will also point out that it is recommended to create your own abilities as opposed to picking them from the list below. (Though it is probably acceptable if you pick a few abilities that already exist).

Also, it is preferred to send me a PM with the character sheet as opposed to posting it in the thread.

ANY ACTION THAT NEEDS A TILE NEEDS TO SPECIFY IT NO. MATTER. WHAT!!! And please for the love of god show your character name in your actions!

Also, I will change redundant traits to already existing ones. Traits which I can't find a use for will be replaced with random ones.

2 workers research Woodcutting
1 worker grabs a spear before fishing with it at B3
2 more civilians are also born (I can't keep things consistent for more than a few updates)

Just some plain animals raws, but it'd be interesting to have someone test them and maybe actually encounter them in-game, as I've done way too little play-testing really. I might come back with a new version of this if I add anything in the coming few days, in which case you'll probably want to erase the raws of the older version to be sure nothing weird happens.

I assume you know how to install mods?

I know how to.

As for testing, I'll pop them inside the Object Testing Arena.

EDIT: If anyone wants to get a dwarf named after yourself, just tell me. I can try and do some requests but not all.

I've been posting here in the forum game section for a while, but yesterday I decided to actually get into the game this forum is about, Dwarf Fortress.

I haven't started the game yet, as I'm not sure if all these mods will require a new savegame.

When I start the game, expect me to do some kinda dumb things, as I haven't played this game before.

Anyways, feel free to post raws in the replies, I'll eventually start it when I've amassed enough raws to have an entertaining playthrough.
