Play With Your Buddies / Re: Stellaris: Never leave Earth

I thought we were actually doomed when they were overrunning our defensive lines, but then this happens.

We can actually challenge them in direct combat? No more bombing worlds and running, no more being blown to smithereens by their fleets? Also, the avatar resurrected?

In another way this was utterly predictable. They can't develop. They have one pattern for their Swarm fleets. They can't change. They can't adapt. We can. We can advance, with our new technologies and Science Nexus. Every moment they are stalemated is a nail in the coffin for them.

Just remember that whether this is our last stand or our great victory, this will be our finest hour. The time we stared down the monsters of the void and the demons of our future, without fear, without trepidation, without division. The day we looked the evils of our past in the eye and said, "To hell with you!"

I think that sums it up rather nicely.

[6] - Gone horribly right

You swerve between the cubicles. Then through the cubicles. Then through the glass.

SMASH!

You give yourself a 7th concussion. You are now Stunned

67 floors left to fall.

(go ahead and tiebreak/vote, Glass. I triple post because editing triggers no notification.)

1204
Also where'd you get that parrot pic? I couldn't find it by Google. Is it your parrot?

1205
Yes, corners are a no-go. You can only jump to Hammerspace around a thin rod.

So what's it going to be? Talk or hide?

1206
[3] - Partial success

You fly left.

However, there is a distinct lack of things to Hammerspace-enter on. Worse, there is an animal control squad charging at you from the front, and it seems you'll be pinned between them and the security team near the big meeting room thing.

There are still a lot of cubicles to duck into to your left.

The goal is not to cause mayhem. Just saying.

1208
[4] - Success

You fly in a looping pattern around the guards.

It works. They cannot shoot you. One of the ones with the guns even gets shot in the leg.

You are now in a hallway. The building is shaped like a huge tube, with a hollow space in the middle, and offices in a ring around it. Thus, the cubicle had windows, but you just look out upon the offices "across" the center from you.

Now, behind you is the cubicle and the men. Ahead of you is a large wall mural depicting one of the major battles in the South. To the right, you see a stairwell and then offices. To the left, you see a line of various offices and then a large meeting area.

Well, good game everyone.

A win condition is to have 40% of habitable planets, right? What if we let them eat everything except Olympia?

Still waiting on suggestions...

Hammerspace.

Also, they don't know that we're Erin's bird.

No entry point. You need something long. There's no lamps here either, it's all ceiling lights. Hammerspace is unimaginably powerful but still highly limited.

Erin kept careful notes, which are available to any government official.

1212
Goodness. . . I guess it is an RtD

*ahem* SUGGESTIONS?

1213
Roll on the hat and news seperatley.

[6] - Gone horribly right
[2] - Failure

You try to dig around for something to make a hat.

You get a bit... carried away, though. In your quest for materials to make an elaborate hat you rouse the attention of the reporter.

He pulls you up, covered in scrap paper.

"How the hell did a parrot get in here?" he wonders.

"I have the real scoop on Erin-" you say, before realizing that you've forgotten to use Human language and had just been squawking at him.

"SECURITY!!!" he screams.

[6] - Gone horribly right.

You peck his eyes out.

And eat them.

They're annoyingly large and pop in your mouth.

He clutches his eyes and screams at the top of his lungs.

Three guards with guns and one with a stick arrive at the cubicle. It's a small cubicle, so they're within two feet of you.

Next?

(also note that you're Erin Quill's bird, so violence on your part... can't look good on him.)

1214
[5] - Epic success

You warp to the offices of The Maven, one of the more well-known news agencies in Antarctica. It is notable for having significant holdings and readership in Brazil, as well as a reputation for accepting tips for stories of all sorts, in-person or over the phone.

You need a container to materialize, so you jump to the recycling bin of a reporter that is taking information over a phone. You are covered in paper and can hear the conversation.

"Yes, we'll investigate it."

(pause)

"It'll make a special edition if it's true."

(pause)

"The people will love it. Too bad though. I was beginning to like this Erin fellow."

DF Adventure Mode Discussion / Re: What's going on in your adventure?

Playing as a raven man in honor of Ravens are murder by Loud Whispers. Flight opens up some... interesting combat possibilities. I regret not going for crossbows instead of pikes now, cause I can't snipe, but even with a pike it's possible to exploit two-dimensional thinking.

First enemy I fight is a bandit gang led by a necromancer. They're all zombies. Why didn't I expect this?
