BONUS: Provisional Tropes List for SPAMOVERLORD. Will be added to later! Feel free to suggest some.

Also, there are some references to future planned plot points buried in that list so inspecting it might bring some advantages

Since not many people are responding to the poll, I'll just do a conventional vote.

Next destination?
A: Wenton Celling
B: Rebels we can't do this if we don't know where they are.
C: News people
D: Quill's cell.

If not Celling, should we maybe go to the Rebels?

This is important enough that I'm making a poll for it... a SimpleMachines poll. Please vote! I'm also going to change the thread title to reflect what we're doing now.

Infinite jump range. Roll a 4/5 and you can go anywhere. This intermission will have no effects if you fail but some benefits if you success so it's safe. You should mainly use it to get information from Antarctica. Do note that coming into physical contact with Quill or Celling transfers your control to them.

You can try railroading me in this RTD. For the main game, however, I already have some plot written out so expect to get railroaded right back.

That's a question, not a command. Can I get a +1?

Also, how did you like the crowning moment of awesome?

[5] - Epic success

"Orevwa Hyvästi Adiós Ha det," you scream.

Padelheb takes a step back. "The hell?" he says.

"lamtumirë Hwyl fawr Do widzenia Dadah," you continue, sliding off the perch to the side of the cage facing away from Padelheb and banging your wing against the wall in order to feign insanity. It's evidently working.

Padelheb holds the injector at his side and gapes as you continue babbling. "Addio Vale Auf Wiedersehen Vaarwel Ahoj," you call out, pushing your beak against the head and grasping the perch with one foot.

You then stop speaking nonsense and glare at Padelheb, tiny bird eyes trained darkness of his pupils, the black pits of his wretched soul. You hang there, face against the head, foot raised in the air, beady eyes trained with murderous intent on Sir Padelheb.

Your mouth twists into the parrot equivalent of a smile.

"Goodbye!" you shout.

Before Padelheb can react, you're already twisting yourself and lifting your body up to the perch, sailing over the small stick of wood and ducking below-

*bam*

You have entered Hammerspace

Why not? I had a whole 90 seconds.

Oh.

Felt shorter for me.

You rolled a five so this will be FUN.

Say goodbye indeed.
Get out of there, screaming "goodbye!" in an assortment of languages.

...there is no way you read that so fast...

Simultaneous action recognized.

[5÷2=2] - Failure

You are too weak to move. Mimicking a seizure sounds like a good idea though.

You are no longer Stunned.

Padelheb prods you will a needle, part of a long injector gun with several vials and tubes containing strange liquid attached to it.

"You know what this is?" he asks. He waves the device about.

"Erin Quill wasn't able to keep all his research from me," he says. "You were given free will through the use of certain neurochemical stimuli, various substances that affect the way your brain develops. Here I have recreated a given selection of those substances, which should wind back and reset some aspects of those alterations. More specifically, free will."

A slight smirk came onto his lips. "When you wake up, you'll have all your memories. Your intelligence. Your abilities. Your personality will all still be there, except for one thing. Your ability to discern right and wrong will be turned back to a highly primitive state. Upon waking up, you'll unquestioningly obey the first living thing you see. That is, me."

He grins. "Unquestioningly. Eternally. Undoubtedly. What you are now will die. It will be replaced by something of my choosing. The thought to cross me will simply not be in your mind. All your knowledge. Your skills. All for me."

[2] - Failure

You're so scared, you can't even fart.

Padelheb steps back. "But first, let me tell you a little story," he says.

"One of the most important things to do is to assess the situation. Whoever asks the important questions comes out first. In this case, it was 'How did the bird get in without anyone seeing?'"

"And as it turns out, someone did see. They just neglected to mention. Or did they? I became curious. I interviewed their colleagues. Subjected them to a lie detector. A poke here, a push there, and it all comes out, along with all manner of other nonsense."

He throws a head into the cage.

A human head.

You recognize it as Chris's head. The guard that tried to help you.

The head rolls under your perch, the dead eyes staring you down, the bloody hair forming a dark mat at the bottom of the cage.

"Penalty for treason is death," Padelheb says. He shrugs and lifts the injector. "Say goodbye, my feathered friend."

[2÷1] - Failure

You can barely move as the officer pushes open the door and drags you into Padelheb's office.

Padelheb is sitting behind his desk, speaking to another woman you don't recognize. He looks towards you.

You are no longer Stunned.

[6] - Gone horribly right

You screech in a low pitch to annoy the people.

It works!

It works very well!

Padelheb is so annoyed that he simply takes a gun and shoots you.

When you come to you're in a cage. You've been shot in the wing. Padelheb is looming over you.

You are Stunned

Ah. So your reservations on the construction of a Dyson sphere stemmed from fear of the terrifying power such a thing would bring, not concern for the star itself.

I see. Just make it very secure then.

ABORT!

Rejected, too vague. Be reminded that if I log on and find multiple suggestions I do them in order. Don't talk yourself further into this hole than you have to!

By the way...

Stunned = all rolls divided by 2

[1÷2=0] - Zero? Well, let's call that...

You are still Stunned

The officer drags you to Padelheb's door.

[6] - Gone horribly right

Chris bounds up the stairs after you.

You call out to him. "Chris, I know you don't hold much love for Padelheb and you're just in this for the money."

"What?" he asked.

"So I propose an alliance. You let me go, and after I save two million odd people I'll have Quill pay you more than old Tyro ever could."

Chris stopped. "Two million people?"

You grin - at least, as much as a parrot can grin. "How many people live in Antarctica these days?"

"He's going to destroy all of Antarctica?!?"

"He's about to let someone destabilize the wormhole, which would have the same effect."

"I'm being negotiated by a parrot."

"Padelheb isn't that good himself either. He kidnapped a girl and sold her to a rapist and manipulated a woman into killing her husband in the past. I'm just trying to make sure there's something left of the Republic after he's through with it."

Chris considers. "Alright. I have a plan." he says.

"Wait, wait-"

You are picked up by the feet and dragged up the stairs. He removes your beak and foot bonds in the process, so that's something.

When he passes someone else he says, "I'm taking Erin Quill's thinking bird up for Sir Padelheb."

The guard officer stops him. "I'll take the bird."

"No, I'll take him myself," Chris protests.

"You're just a prison guard. Give me the bird." the officer demands.

Chris reluctantly hands you over.

[6] - Gone horribly right

Chris drops you to give you a chance to escape.

You breakdance.

You do it so vigorously that you slam your head against the wall and give yourself a 6th concussion.

Chris and the officer look at you.

"This ain't the thinking bird," the officer says.

"More like the crazy bird," Chris answers.

There is a pause.

"Well, I'll take him just to be sure," says the officer, grabbing you and slinging you over his shoulder.

You are Stunned

Can someone else please come up with an action?

YES DO THIS. One man games are no fun.

Actually, I think it's like a 5-man game by now.

  • Glass
  • Paxie
  • Omada
  • Puppyguard
  • Dusty

...who'd I miss?

Start flying around sounding like the biggest gunfight/bombing/etc. the world will ever have.

Alright I'll spit it out - you have no chance of distracting the guards. These are prison guards. They've been told that the biggest threat is sitting in that cell right there. At least some of them will remain watching Erin Quill, confident in the knowledge that normal castle guards will take care of security.

[6] - Gone horribly right

You escape.

Oh boy do you escape.

Turns out grabbing a parrot by its buttocks was a bad choice. You spring out like a cork. You bounce off the wall - giving yourself a 5th concussion - and go up the stairs.

When you settle down, you are in the stairwell, there is a window above you, and there is the sound of feet below you.
