A Tealcat, after gently pawing at a Water Nymph, meaning no harm, has absorbed some of its mana. Now, that Tealcat could control water. Creating an air bubble around itself while diving for small fish, watering Catnip so it grows faster, et cetera. It quickly tells of its discovery to other Tealcats.

One Tealcat notices that wandering nymphs are not likely to notice a hiding predator (like itself) if it's hidden in some sort of flora. This could be exploited easily...

Tealcats ambush nymphs.

A Tealcat stumbles upon a Catnip stalk. It gently bites it, and starts rolling on the floor and pawing at things out of happiness.

Tealcats eat Catnip and get pleasure out of it.

A new species of fauna appears: Tealcats. They are, as their name implies, felines with a teal color of fur. They are sapient and capable of speech, but their lack of opposable thumbs or the ability to stand on two legs for any meaningful periods of time prevents tool use unless they get creative, which could take a long time (don't count them as truly sentient until Society phase). They can also eat plants in addition to meat, but plants are less nutritious for them.
