Raguel vs SycophantUpon seeing her opponent stumble back in response to her attack, Celica allowed herself a moment to smile, even as her mech landed back on the ground. It was hard to truly tell if her guess was correct or not, but it seemed as though she had thrown him off of whatever he was planning to do. The trap he had made to lure her in had been twisted to her own advantage, and although Raguel was currently glaring at her with a burning look of hatred, Celica felt another wave of satisfaction. Not only did that confirm that she had thoroughly messed with whatever idea he had come up with to beat her, but, more importantly, she now had his complete, undivided attention.
So, with that knowledge, Celica merely reactivated her Spark, dashing to the side as her illusion stood its ground, baring its fangs and claws as they seemed to quickly superheat, waiting for Raguel's next move. But just before she could charge in and tear her prey apart during his moment of distraction, the entire field erupted in a wave of heat and light, nearly throwing the metal wolf back from the sheer force, along with forcing the girl within to shield her eyes. Thankfully for her, the explosion didn't last long, swiftly dying down and leaving behind the consequence of its arrival: a burning, ash filled field that offered even less cover than the grassy plains. Within the center of the roaring inferno that was their new battleground was Raguel, standing amidst the darkened air, shining brightly despite it all.
"Come to me, Sycophant. Come to me, through fire n' war. I welcome ye!"
Yet again, Celica found herself pausing for a brief moment. Meaningless light show or not, Raguel was far more of a threat in a head-on fight, and here he was, challenging her to face him. Her only true advantage here was her speed and illusion, and the later seemed to have him distracted, it wouldn't be long before he managed to pinpoint her true position, if he was capable of noting her actual form. Which meant, ultimately, she'd have to strike well before he realized that the thing he was looking at was just another illusion, red outlines shining through the ash filled air in their own menacing way.
So, Celica acted once again, the fake merely roaring in response to Raguel's challenge, a soulless, hollow screech coming from its mouth before it began to charge. Yet at the same time, the true Sycophant was already running full sprint at Raguel's open side, leaping towards him with its claws and teeth bared.
