"Very well. Prepare to witness yet another spectacle worthy of the Angel of Flame, my fellow classmates!"

Reeve moves to H6, does a little flourish. Also makes sure to equip the evasion ring.

Within the holdings of the wagon, a young woman sat with her arms folded, seemingly indifferent to the cold as she scanned the treeline, eyes retaining a sharpness one would expect out of any experienced warrior. Once she had been approached for this opportunity, Camira was fully expecting to be stuck with a trip through the countryside, one filled with peace, quiet, and a relaxing atmosphere one didn't find often in her line of work. Mostly for the fact that she was being hired alongside a few other mercenaries, and from her experience in the business, any bandit group that decided to raid a caravan would be deterred by one with enough of a defense. Depending on if there was a bandit group in these parts that was currently active, since being robbed was still a somewhat uncommon event.

Thankfully, partway through their little journey, the caravan she found herself in had come to a short break, and one of the men who had hired her had taken the time to approach them, causing the Borderlander to tilt her head in his direction,

"Not particularly, no. What do you need?"

For her part, Reeve confidently stood near the front of her class, smug aura radiating off of her as Kruger asked his question, a normal sign for the young girl just before most sparring matches. In fact, she seemed even more smug than usual... Most likely because of the wager that had been put upon the table. She always used these training scenarios as a way to demonstrate her grand power, but now, truly, the eyes of the school would be upon her. So, she would aim to please, as she naturally did.

... She'd also have to take care not to actually go overboard and seriously harm one of her classmates. A moderate singe should be sufficient.

Raguel vs Sycophant

Upon seeing her opponent stumble back in response to her attack, Celica allowed herself a moment to smile, even as her mech landed back on the ground. It was hard to truly tell if her guess was correct or not, but it seemed as though she had thrown him off of whatever he was planning to do. The trap he had made to lure her in had been twisted to her own advantage, and although Raguel was currently glaring at her with a burning look of hatred, Celica felt another wave of satisfaction. Not only did that confirm that she had thoroughly messed with whatever idea he had come up with to beat her, but, more importantly, she now had his complete, undivided attention.

So, with that knowledge, Celica merely reactivated her Spark, dashing to the side as her illusion stood its ground, baring its fangs and claws as they seemed to quickly superheat, waiting for Raguel's next move. But just before she could charge in and tear her prey apart during his moment of distraction, the entire field erupted in a wave of heat and light, nearly throwing the metal wolf back from the sheer force, along with forcing the girl within to shield her eyes. Thankfully for her, the explosion didn't last long, swiftly dying down and leaving behind the consequence of its arrival: a burning, ash filled field that offered even less cover than the grassy plains. Within the center of the roaring inferno that was their new battleground was Raguel, standing amidst the darkened air, shining brightly despite it all.

Quote
"Come to me, Sycophant. Come to me, through fire n' war. I welcome ye!"

Yet again, Celica found herself pausing for a brief moment. Meaningless light show or not, Raguel was far more of a threat in a head-on fight, and here he was, challenging her to face him. Her only true advantage here was her speed and illusion, and the later seemed to have him distracted, it wouldn't be long before he managed to pinpoint her true position, if he was capable of noting her actual form. Which meant, ultimately, she'd have to strike well before he realized that the thing he was looking at was just another illusion, red outlines shining through the ash filled air in their own menacing way.

So, Celica acted once again, the fake merely roaring in response to Raguel's challenge, a soulless, hollow screech coming from its mouth before it began to charge. Yet at the same time, the true Sycophant was already running full sprint at Raguel's open side, leaping towards him with its claws and teeth bared.

Monika

As expected, Monika gave the so-called "dead people" a confused look, one that persisted even after they ran off, presumably from the way she came, leaving Monika with Verna's fallen form. For a brief moment, Monika simply watched her run away, only to shift her gaze back to Verna, placing a closed fist on her chest, "May your recovery be swift. You've earned that much, Verna" Monika stated to the 'maddened one'. Then, rising to her feet, Monika swiftly made a detour to retrieve her Holy Weapon, the halberd finally beginning to return to its natural white gleam after being superheated for so long. Nevertheless, despite the force that lodged it into the ground to begin with, Monika easily tore it from the earth, only to turn around and run after the woman who had dealt the finishing blow to Marionette.

After all, 'freedom' was something Monika would be hard pressed to pass up.

For my own stuff, Cami shall be taking the Slashing as her subcat proficiency, along with Anima for her affinity. She'll also yoink a 5% increase to her defense.

Raguel vs Sycophant

The fact that Raguel casually ignored her illusion, as if it didn't exist, was the first sign that something was amidst. Even if one knew the illusion for what it was, Celica was certain that she would still see a reaction. To her, the only reasons one would be able to ignore it was if...

Quote
"Think ye're so clever with yer smoke n' mirrors, eh? Well I've learned since the last time. Ye can't bewitch me if I can't even see ye!"

... Was if one didn't perceive it at all.

For a brief moment, Sycophant paused as it stared at Raguel's exposed back, all while Celica's mind raced. He wasn't using his sense of hearing or sight to fight... But if that was the case, how could he perceive anything? No one would believe that fighting blind would give them any sort of advantage. Even Blink seemed to have a way to pinpoint her enemy's location. So naturally, there was only two possible reasons for Raguel's apparent strategy. Either he was more moronic than any individual she had seen, which given what she knew would not surprise her; or he had a method to 'see' her without the interference from her Spark. Both had a possibility of being true, but only one held a threat behind it.

Pushing itself forward once again, Sycophant broke into another sprint at Raguel's back, the noble within dropping the use of her Spark in order to focus. After all, if she was correct, her spark would be all but useless. Soon though, Sycophant leapt into the air, posed to latch on and begin tearing into the knight while he was unaware of its presence... Only to suddenly shift in front of Raguel, body twisting in mid-air in order to slash at his head with its superheated tail, continuing the motion in order to land on its feet a safe distance away.

Celica truly hated using that trick, due to the stress it put onto the overall foundation of her mech. But, if her illusions failed, then she simply needed to put in the effort expected of her position.

Raguel vs Sycophant

Though Raguel was already a fairly easy target to make out beyond the tall grass, the explosive performance he initiated was more than enough to clue Celica in on what he was intending. He was clearing the area around him, ensuring that she'd have no way to sneak up naturally, seeing as all her potential cover was now naught but ash and cinders. It was a good enough plan... If not for the fact that Sycophant didn't need the grass to get in. Or perhaps he had a method of detecting her that needed the grass to be removed? If so, that would be problematic.

Regardless, keeping to the edge of the circle of destruction, Sycophant continued to pace, peering beyond the tall grass at Raguel's still form. For a few moments, it seemed like she was fairly content to wait for Raguel's first move, keeping within the safety of the grass instead of rushing out to meet him. At least, for a few moments, before the metallic wolf suddenly broke cover, charging at full speed towards the angelic knight's side. About halfway through however, Celica's spark flared to life, replacing her true form with that of a fake that continued to sprint towards Raguel. Sycophant itself, however, instead broke off, skidding to a halt before running around him, aiming to strike at his back whilst he was distracted with her illusion.

Monika

Surprising even herself, her halberd managed to connect with its target, almost bisecting Marionette as it flew through and impaled itself into the ground, far from the grip of its normal wielder. For a moment, it seemed like they would successfully stall her out, cutting her from her supply of flesh and allowing backup to arrive. At least before Verna chose to charge her, wanting to take advantage of Monika's opening and finish the monster once and for all.

"Verna, wait!" Monika called out, a moment too late as she watched Kira's friend/date charge towards the monster, attempting to put it down for good with a blinding flash of her own power. But it didn't work, and soon enough Monika was forced to watch Marionette quickly begin claiming yet another victim, using Verna to restore her own stolen body. Without her halberd though, the Major could do nothing but witness, resigning to her fate of having to add another to the list of individuals she failed to help.

... Until woman, completely nude, suddenly appeared and caused Marionette to suddenly fly into a wall, catching the falling Verna at the same time. Despite her distance, Monika could also notice the look Marionette give her before they ran off. A look of contempt, one birthed from the fact that Monika had thrown her own weapon and nearly tore her in half. In a way, that itself was worrying, seeing as she was now a direct thorn in the side of one the most dangerous individuals on the planet, but Monika didn't dwell on that fact for more than a second. Instead, with Marionette leaving the stage, Monika instead chose to run towards Verna, ignoring the situation and lingering panic around her to focusing on the individual who fought with her, and the one who came at the end to assist,

"Nerys' ass, it's even worse up close" Monika muttered as she approached the two, kneeling down to examine Verna without a single flinch from the sight of her injuries, flicking her eyes towards the woman who had knocked Marionette aside, "I'd ask if you had a method of healing, but I highly doubt that you do. Regardless, thank you for the help, miss..?" Monika continued, moving her gaze at the area that surrounded them. She cursed the fact that she couldn't use her position's weight to get a medical professional on site at this moment. When it came down to it, she was a fighter, not a doctor.

"But, while I can hardly speak for the entirety of the class, but I shall accept Jack's challenge. Of course, I hardly planned to lose anyway."

Taking note of the sound of someone approaching her class, Reeve turned to the source, raising an eyebrow at the woman she saw coming towards them, if only for the fact that it was Kaede of all people running towards them.

"Oh, Miyajima, what do you need? Are our dear President and Vice-President having some more issues again?"

Reeve, for her part, had dutifully listened to the lecture of a topic she was already fairly familiar in. Growing up in Southern Erebia, Alphinite was practically a way of life for her, especially with how much she explored, often accumulating various injuries that her parents would reprimand her for after she healed from them. But she listened anyway, giving Professor Estelle her own respectful bow as she packed up, confidently following her classmates out of the room. A five page essay due in a weeks time would be an easy feat.
