Take care though, because if it gets boarded it will start pounding your planet. It specially sucks when it can actually destroy your colony in a few seconds, before you destroy it (artillery is specially bad at that)

Also, Braid. It's 2.50 USD right now. Check the Demo and buy it.

Guys.

What game, $10 or less, MUST I have that will run on a standard issue netbook?

No Source games will work.

A significant portion of pixel shader 2.0 games will not work.

On a netbook? I'd say you're straining to run Pong..
Don't be unfair. Check older games (although it'd probably be easier to get at GoG) and the lighter indie games.

Just Cause 2, and all of it's DLC for 7.22?

Yes.
:'( It doesn't run on XP.

I'm going to have to rigorously apply my "75% off and/or less than 7.50€" rule to get through the next week I think.
Tell me about it. I'm seriously tempted by the Total War: Shogun 2, but at only 40% it's still pretty expensive.

I'm grinding in the dungeon too. Good loots  :-[
The problem is that it costs around two time slices, and you have to pay the adventurer. Unless you can get really good loot, I find more profitable to keep in town, buy stuff low and sell not really high.  :P

I've found that the best way to make money in Recettear is to sell stuff cheaply enough so not only you get XP fast but they start liking you more. This way you can sell them expensive stuff. Even to the little girl. Remember you buy already buy stuff with a discount, so you'll be having a profit even you sell at 100% (or even slightly under). Don't try to gouge them for the last pix, at least until they can afford the most expensive thingies in the shop. Selling machines look nice, but they don't increase costumer rep, so don't use them unless they can already afford everything too. Or if you want to sell selling machines, which can only be sold by other selling machines.

Also, adventuring is not really a great money maker, specially in the beginning. You'll make lot's more money managing your shop normally.

ogod. Heroes VI is for slae (pre-order/beta).
I should really follow games I want and not randomly stumble upon them >.<
But I don't think my laptop will be able to run it at enjoyable speeds and I need to finish the first 5 games anyways :(
After Heroes V, I'm certainly not pre-ordering the game. When they release we shall see if the game's actually good.

Do I need to build a big fleet of military ships at the start?
Only if you want to fight off the inevitable enemy attack.

[/cheek]

More seriously, yes it's a good idea to maintain a decent military fleet at least in your home system because the AI will most certainly try to hit you at some point and it will probably be before you're ready.

Also: I just discovered the wonderous joy of building planetary thrusters, cannons, shields and lasers and rocketing around the universe with my homeworld deathsphere. Boy, planets sure make tough ships!
I personally found them very weak when you possibly can make them. At that tech level a high scale ship can make a planet unowned very easily. And let's not even speak of artillery stations that can shoot across star systems and kill them with a single hit.

Why does Steam hate my bank so much?
Because Steam considers your bank one of the responsible for the financial crisis.

So, has anyone made a SAW-style lava trap game using pistons yet?
Hmm, a Squad Automatic Weapon style trap made with lava? That sounds awesome, although sounds hard to do...  :P

Serious though, I see problems on that kind trap. Unless you make your trap with Adminium, protects the blocks from being built or destroyed on that chunk, or at least build it with thick obsidian walls (if the trap is not TOO slow), it's not really hard to simply mine your way out of it.

I don't have The Orange Box, actually. Didn't really care to get TF2 or Portal, [since the former didn't appeal to me and I'd already played the latter.] but I guess I could do with play Half Life.

Do I need tOB to run Garry's Mod?

Also, Borderlands GOTY worth it?

Also, Just Cause 2 for a mere $13. I highly recommend it to anyone who likes sandbox games akin to GTA and can actually run it.

Also, argh.. Front Mission Evolved is $20 and Lost Planet 1 is $13. The latter I already own, but would like to record via PC. The former I'm interested in as a mech-enjoyer, but this wallet of mine burns with the awesome power of unemployment.

I should probably pass, but.. Argh ~
Borderlands GOTY on sale again? fuck yes take it.

Recettear 4.99!!!!!!!!!!!
*grabs the game in a mouth-frothing mania*
As I said in the Bay12 steam community chat: If you don't have it already, grab Recettear now! GRAB IT! NOW!

So, question about games:

Is Armada 2526 worth it? It has relatively mediocre scores at meta critic, but on the other hand, 4x games tend to get mediocre scores there. I tried to see if it had a TvTropes page, but it doesn't seem to have one...

Hmmm... I might buy the the 1C space pack for the Space Wolves Games... Just give it a few more days to see if Gamers Gate and Impulse offers a better deal.
