LoSboccacc you can also use ctrl+click (or it was shift+click. One of two), to do the .25 increments.

A few of us played a little multiplayer (I had to leave before the game ending though, had family visiting, had to entertain the guests) a little earlier. Should try again sometime, specially now that we know better HOW to do so. =p

But anyway, have reached the conclusion that one of the issues of the game is that it's pretty attention intensive and speed dependent. You need to always keep track of everything that's happening, and keep doing stuff everywhere. To play against the insane level AI a professional Korean player level might be the appropriate one.  :P

I havent played all that much. I knew that ships can run out of juice without big enough capacitors, but I didnt know they would explode.
If you are running Antimatter and Fusion, they lose containment, and explosions follow.

No shit?

*reads*

Wow...sounds kinda epic. I like the suggestion one user posted that moving towards the hole makes your ships move faster, while moving away is slower. The idea of all-or-nothing fights, with crippled ships slowly being pulled in, helpless, is a scary-yet-almost dwarvenly one.

Here's hoping that current saves will be compatible!
I don't like the suggestion at all. The entire point of TN technology being such a revolution is that it isn't affected by things like inertia or gravity. That is what makes it Transnewtonian.
Specially considering that blackholes pull at any given distance is the same as any other body with the same mass and same distance. Blackholes are just much smaller, and so allows a region of space where the pull is stronger (gravity being reduced by the square of distance and all...)

If the PC port is actually decent I might play. Looks pretty nice, although I wonder what they're gonna do for plot if you already start at the top.

As it is right now you can just churn out massive quantities of ships unless you put a hard cap on game settings.
You really can't, unless your economy can support it or the ships are fairly small. Your proposed solution, as pointed out, would just favor building larger ships.
Or it is so in the end game, that a mighty fleet of a few dozen 3000 scale monstrosities is used as an escort, and its cost only pocket change.

and the only source of meat is pokemon, which you could also have as a pet (similar to our own world except that according to the anime the vast majority of them understand human speech and can reply, showing that they're probably sentient and intelligent beings).
Wasn't there a scene in the anime where they were eating Tauro Burgers???
It is confirmed, in game, that they eat pokemon. I think it was sapphire/ruby.

Ignoring the fact that civilized countries don't have the death penalty, and that civilized countries DEFINITELY don't have the death penalty for non-first-degree-murder, it calls for an entirely new body of law.
So Japan, the USA, and India are not civilized countries to you?

Don't get me wrong, the death penalty shouldn't be practiced anywhere, but that's demonstrably false.
Hentai, bible belt, caste system.
Hey, what's the problem with hentai?  :P Sure there are parts of it that are quite disturbing, but I don't see how it is that much worse than pieces of live action porn. In fact, certain live action porn can be as much or more disturbing than hentai.  :P

Investing into gold, collectable marks or rifle ammunition may be safer bets in the later scenario.

If you want to stake on one particular cyberpunk dystopian future variant - Bitcoins will do.
Don't forget canned food, maybe even MREs...
Bottlecaps...
Waterchips...

Although... the video that plays when you start up the game is REALLY not like other pokemon games and involves some guy being crowned for some reason, so it may not be completely out of nowhere. A couple screenshots are in one of the first content posts on this thread, but let's see if I can find that video...

yup, here we go: Link!

Edit: Whoa. I ended up getting this and the nurse at the pokecenter just asked if it was my birthday. It is, but... how does she KNOW?
Don't you program the DS with your birthday date?

Well, I am officially an idiot and it was in Missile/Kinetic weapons, thanks gimlet! I was under the impression from other sources it was in Logistics, and it probably doesn't help that I don't normally touch missiles (too much hassle compared to lasers).

They have MUCH better range though. As in, 60m km is not a hard range to get with them. With drone carriers you can even get a good half billion km...

Also going to ask again if anyone has any clue why my game wont give me hangers/boat bays, they wont show up on the design screen, and looking through every research option (after looking at everything including stuff I can't yet research/have completed) there's nothing that will unlock them. I've reinstalled/patched the game at least half a dozen times but it wont show up.
Rather than guess, could you post the database of a game you have running where the boat bay/hangar aren't showing up? Put it up somewhere and I'll download it and check around. I'd recommend just uploading it to google docs (yes, you can upload non document files) and then sharing the link.
You aware that the DB is generally huge right? I think you can compress it quite a lot though, but even so, it's still quite big.

The research should be right on the missile/kinect research options, first as Boat Bay, and then after you research it, Hangar Deck. If it isn't there you might have chosen to start as a conventional empire. If so is the case research Trans Newtonian technology in construction/production and it should appear. If even so it doesn't appear, you might try posting at the official aurora forums.

Btw, just confirming, you're using the 5.42 version, correct?

Are you tired of being beaten by the weakest AI in the game? This is for you. Let's play with other equally terrible players. When everyone sucks, no one sucks.

What date and time is best for you guys? Anyone can host? My net connection is terrible and tends to fall more than I'd like for this.

So, if I bought this, only Delve Deeper is redeemable at steam, the rest I would have to go to yet another digital distribution site called Desura.

What can you guys tell me about Desura then? I don't really want yet another of these in my life. I already have to deal with Steam, Gamers Gate, Impulse and GoG (oh, and a couple games on D2D).

Consider the usual circumstances under which a full personality rewrite comes to be*, you'd first need to get rid of the ban on cruel and unusual punishments...

Uh, can we decide if we are going to discuss about a philosophical issue or an actual case in an actual country? It's like we tried to solve this classic riddle with a man who always lies and another one who always says truth and someone proposed beating the answer out of them. Or suggested using GPS instead.
I don't know if I'd like to live in a country that doesn't have laws against the procedure needed to do a full personality rewrite, and that's coming from someone who's not opposed to corporal or capital punishment in some cases.
I'd be okay with it as long it can never be the only option of the condemned, and it's considered as the same level as a capital punishment. Specifically, give the death row inmate the option: You have got the death penalty, but if you wish so, you can get a total personality rewrite.

On the original subject, put him under observation, so we can both see how he is going to behave now (the brain damage might have left him with psychological issues that would stop him from working in society), and study the effects of brain damage to personality. Assuming his new mind don't have any problematic issue, his releasing is still kinda too problematic, as it creates very bad precedent. I'd say move him to a nice psychological institution (as in, actually nice, not nightmarish nice), where he can be studied. This way, at least if anyone complains and ask for his blood, one can say his case is too unique to kill like that.
