Will do! Will post results here.

edit results: does nothing. bonemeal on dirt does nothing.
still looking for silktouch.

Why not make a earth bridge to the ground and let the grass spread naturally? You can remove the bridge after you're done.

Buy low sell high. Trading cards increase in value after they're no longer available. The massive amounts of cards makes Steam an interesting market. The best strategy to earn money is probably to hoard cheap cards during the summer sale and sell them a month or a year from now.

All things considered, you should probably craft all your game badges and none of the event badges. Game cards are always available, meaning they'll never go up in value; but crafting badges potentially nets you rare items. Those rare items will never be widespread on the market, so they can make some neat cash.

People will always be looking to complete their collections. The only thing stopping you will be reasonably-priced copies of your item on the market.
After a while, people might lose hope of completing a certain badge, so they might simply give up looking for a certain card, so holding up a sale's card for too long might not be a good idea.

For game cards, it only makes sense for you to craft the badge if you value the cosmetic award (or if your level is less than 10 and you want the chance to get foils, but there are other ways to gain levels). It's also probably not a good idea to sell them immediately during or after sales, when a lot of people might have gotten and played the game, getting and selling more cards.

Got a foil a while ago, and dropped a buck and a half out of money I gotten from cards I had previously sold for the same foil significantly under market price. Might end having to not gain as much as I had hoped on them, but still, I didn't actually spent my money on it anyway, just a bit of opportunity cost. I should be able to at least regain the costs anyway. :p

Basically, selling a bunch of cards (and a few TF2 items I had), I managed to get a bit over 5 USD.

On another note, I think I'll hold my sale cards until a week or two after the sale. Fresh enough that people might still be looking to get the badge, but old enough so the prices goes up a bit. Maybe a staggered release to minimize risks a bit. :P

Elective seems pretty great, even with most of my titles held by family members.  The maluses seem pretty minor so far (after the initial period of rage).

Only downside is that, because the only powerful lords in your realm are of your family, your kin will all be marrying each other to secure powerful alliances.  Expect next generation to consist mostly of inbred morons.

For that reason, I generally try to build up a "loyal lieutenant" family for all my family to marry into.  Generally, children are educated by their parents, so a content vassal will likely have children that grow up to be content, with that sweet sweet +50 to relations with ruler.
If you expand your family enough, it's not really that problematic though. You might have to abuse matrilineal marriages a bit, and create many branches of the family, but it is doable, at should avoid problems in the time line the game takes place.

To warn: When I entered the server, a creeper nearby managed to damage the train line. It damaged just the wall, the line itself was fine, but since I had barely started, I wasn't really able to fully repair the damage, just do a patchwork job to prevent mobs from entering.

Ys I & II specifically, looking at it. Which would make the answer be: If you like the early Ys gameplay (Note: I don't actually know how much/if it changes much later into the series, ha.), probably. I mean, it's alright gameplay and they are kinda' classics, but they're also pretty dated imo. At least from what I remember. Wouldn't be a terrible fiver to drop if you've never played 'em on the earlier consoles(and/or emulators) and whatnot.
It seems essentially a standard JRPG in terms of mechanics, is that correct? And if so, how good is the story?

Interesting, although I'm not going to be overly optimistic about it until I see more about the game and opinions about it.

I'd wait until a bit after the summer sale and put them at the market place if I were you.

Can you decide who inherits the anti-papacy, or is it random?
You can decide. It might requires free investiture, but I'm not absolutely certain about it.

Setting up an antipope also works quite well.

I strongly suspect there is some sort of detection algorithm for when you try to get your player character killed that secretly pumps up their health stats. Because when you start sending them out on suicide missions, that's when your maimed, ill, 70 year old king will live on to at least 80.
If you are rich enough you could simply start sending out assassins to whoemver you don't like. They'll occasionally retaliate, specially if they are rulers themselves. Alternatively, you can start the old banish dance to become the most hated ruler in the map. Hell, break a few truces while you are at it, if you believe you can handle the wars. People will end going after your char fast enough. :P

You are all wusses who have no sense of heroism and don't care about saving children.
Not having this discussion again, so, yes, yes we are. I still hold that we should not play in that forest for now.
