Icewind Dale and Baldur's Gate have been fully redone in NWN 2 which might tempt some people to get it. I much prefer the original games and the remakes just don't feel as good with the 3.5 ruleset. 3D environments are pretty though.Hmm, I hadn't seen this modules yet. I'll have to grab them later. Can we have a link?
Is Neverwinter Nights 2 any good? I remember playing a bit of it back when it was released and absolutely hating it, but it also barely ran on that computer. And the story opened with one of my most loathed cliche openings (the doomed hometown). I may not have given it a fair chance.It's... Reasonable I guess. The Mask of the Betrayer expansion does have a much better story (check the let's play in the LParchive, it's quite good), while the storm of Zehir is rather sandboxy with less story. The mechanics of the game are decent enough, but nothing really to write home about.
) or try to set a time for the game. And unless someone objects, I'd say we can use the Balance Mod 1.19i.Hardcore Dwarf Fortress: Enforced real time. One dwarf day is one real day long.It won't be really that much harder. Just incredibly boring.
Good luck.
Yes, it's annoying you need to find so much of those ancient books giving 1 points, as finding the ones that give more points is extremely rare.O was hoping to avoid Puppy Cave because it's hell on my spell stocks. Even with the monsters being weak, well, they still eat at least one magic dart.
The most hilarious is that i started to find more of them only -after- i finally managed to get membership in the mage guild.
For now, you should just grind Puppy Cave again and again, as each levels of it get randomly re-generated each time you climb a stair, they can respawn ancient books sometime.
And as the monsters of Puppy Cave are low level, this way you don't spend much time fighting them or worrying about being killed and can explore quickly a whole floor to see if there are "ancient books" around.
What fame level is reasonable? And when do I need to start to worry about the enemies I would face?Never really got to far into this game because i heard the whole "gaining levels is bad" thing and it kinda put me off , but i hear thats not really an issue anymore so i was wondering if you all had some starting tips or advice for a new player in 1.21
The good news is that "gaining levels is bad" is no longer the case in Elona+. As long as you're regularly using/leveling combat skills, levelling in Elona+ just means access to new/better stuff. One still might want to consider managing how high your Fame is, though.
Eh? I'm not saying we pretend to be refugees, I'm saying that they seem to have a big important chunk of their history based around how great they are for protecting the Elven survivors of the last great Necromancy war, so they'll presumably be fairly interested in helping the Elves (re)acquire history from that time + knowledge and experience on how to deal with undead.Fair enough, although I get the feeling that these knights are not really interested in helping elves for the sake of helping, nor really interested in history. Of course, the knowledge and experience on how to deal with undead on the other hand...

a) Because apparently we are a storybook hero.a) whether the childrens souls can be recoveredIncorrect!
b) how to contain recovered souls
c) what exactly the thing is that stole the souls
d) how it stole the souls in the first place
e) how to repair soul-damage.
f) How to see and, more importantly, fight whatever it is that inhabits the forest.
a) We don't know if we'll succeed, but we should try anyway.
b) Once we find the soul, moving them around should be as easy as moving vitality around.
c) It's a necromantic construct created at the end of the last war.
d) It stole their souls with necromancy.
e) Living things heal themselves. We shouldn't have to repair soul damage, if any is present.
f) We can see it using our necromantic vision and can attack it using Steal Vitality. Our Steal Vitality spell is strong enough to destroy it in one shot.
