Why would you ever bother with non-agnatic succ laws? It makes it impossible to land family members as the AI never seems to matry-marry heirs :/
It's not that hard if the daughter you are trying to marry is your heir. That said, I personally like inviting heirs to my court then matry-marry them to any female dynasty member I have around. It's a rather fun way to spread your dynasty around, putting family in the throne to other kingdoms and even empires.

General Discussion / Re: Blah Blah WWIII [North Korea Thread]

North Korean teenagers are either really impressionable or the government is trying to scare 'em straight.
The crime seems to be most of the time, teenagers getting it on with each other apparently.

“The thing is that at the beginning of May some boys and girls from a senior middle school in Pyongsung City went en masse to a local sauna where they engaged in some disgraceful sexual behaviour; that is where the crackdown began. They questioned the students, and found that they had been copying something they saw in a Chinese movie,” the source explained.
They are also so horny, that when their parents try to stop it, they decide that axe murder is the best solution:

Back in 2008, for example, the drunk father of a 16-year old female student from the Wiyeon district of Hyesan was murdered with a hatchet by his daughter after trying to stop her engaging in lewd behaviour with a male student.

With "your specific line of rulers" I do not mean just you and your sons and their sons etcetc though.

I agree that elective succession can greatly broaden the part of the dynasty that really matters though, assuming they have elector titles of course.
It also increase the pool of possible rulers for you to pick, increasing the chances of getting a genius or the like. In addition, if you really spread your dynasty around your elective empire, you can actually afford to "lose" the election so to speak, as long as a kinsmen get the throne. Maybe it was not the ideal heir, but you don't lose the title.

RockPaperShotgun's done some nice coverage on why MatrixGames doesn't do that, if you're interested. There's actually some pretty interesting tidbits.
Link?

It's pretty hard to find, so I didn't get all of it, but if you look at the Flare Paths starting with this one you should get the gist of it. Plus, follow Tim Stone's links and so forth.
So basically from what I got, they completely ignore how other niche developers benefit from steam and its sales, instead simply keeping saying that it won't benefit them as if that would make it true? I can't say if they are just elitist jerks who don't want to be part of the "mainstream" or actually genuinely incompetent.

And yeah, I do have a pretty negative opinion of their policies...

I really wish this game was on steam and wasn't so expensive.  I got the original, but the expansions are just as costly as the full game!
Yeah. If this was on a reasonable digital distribution system, it'd be a instant buy the moment it went into a sale.

The 3.0 update has been released for X3:Albion Prelude, adding new ships, new plots, new missions, new starts, and some fixes. Official forum post with changelog
You gotta love the amount of content they give away. Other companies might have made it into DLCs, but "Hey, here have a massive update" is always refreshing.

Curses / Re: LCS Liberal Management 101

I generally don't keep more than a small handful of active liberals, keeping about a dozen of them, and hordes of sleepers everywhere. Sure, it does limit recruitment a bit, but not really that much. By having few active members you can focus and train them quite a lot.

X-Com is 66%, as well its DLCs. I'm grabbing everything now, and so should you.

You want to march through the forest, hoping we don't get ambushed before getting to the clearing, hoping there is only one creature once you get there, hoping that you manage to hit, try to hit with a non-lethal strike? For fuck's sake, what are you? Fed up with the quest and hoping we die?

344
That was just dumping the vitality into them to keep them alive. My proposal is more about trying to replicate their normal processes. Even if it doesn't work, it should give us an insight into their condition.

Ah, I see. It is an interesting experiment. I'd like to try it on a rabbit, fish or something before going for the kids though. And it might not be a good idea to do so under the noses of our current host.

345
Well it is going to be completely experimental regardless, but if we can safely channel two vitality into them from our own reserves then that should be enough for the experiment. But as a precision procedure it would help if we had a donor. Maybe we can store vitality in a crystal and then extract it later using necromancy without the thing being depleted. We could try asking Omo, but be honest that it is a pretty experimental procedure and probably wouldn't work. Trees probably have enough vitality to try to jump-start a human child without permanent damage...
It goes, if I remember correctly, at a rate of 3 to 1. To give them 2 vitality it is going to cost us 6, which is a rather big amount. Same thing for any volunteer we get. It is a possibility, but we've already kind tried something quite similar to no result.
