Currently trampled tiles never allow grass (or any plants) to grow back. I feel like these tiles should be prefixed “barren (soil, eg sand)”. It would have an internal counter which would be reset if affected by trampling it again.  It would then become normal soil which can be foliage-d(?) upon once more.

Only in some worlds. Not in all ones.

I'm talking about the immediate area, eg a fortress map or 3x3 map tiles centered around a creature in adv mode.

I meant that the creatures themselves would only appear in some worlds, due to procgen magic.

I meant this suggestion as adding a tag which summons the rain, but sure it could be part of worldgen magic. I just wanted to see massive amphibious dragons in my future modding, showering the lands in graceful rainfall.

Don't they clean themselves at wells and water sources already?
Only if they’re about to receive medical treatment or have contaminants on them.
Does sweat count? IDK.

I’m not sure if there is sweat in DF

You know how you can't use the fast travel function to cross rivers, mountains and oceans? Well, I think flying adventures should be able too, as they could just fly over the terrain in question

This is an amazing idea!

There should just be a tag in general to cross mountains.

It doesn't seem like controlled climates are in the time of mythical creatures such as dwarves and elves. Just my opinion

We like eagerness to engage (well, I. certainly do - I presume so do others) so this is not to put anyone off. I can't even be sure that I haven't made this error myself, when fresh to the game or even very recently.

No, you're right. I completely flooded the forum with either half-concieved or already-suggested ideas. I made the error repeadedly so it's fine

It would be in the form of a tag called [CAUSES_RAIN] and it would force the weather to rain until it leaves the map.

In adventure mode, it would create an eternal rain cloud wherever it is going. This would make it easier to track as you just have to look for storms nearby.

Simply so it is easier to understand where you are. It would still be easy to see birds but just blue doesn’t seem as logical when the ground is only a few yards below me.

DF Suggestions / Thoughts about food should be fixed.
« on: April 19, 2018, 07:28:17 pm »
Currently a dwarf only receives better thoughts about a meal if they prefer it, and the thought is happier based on quality.

I think there should simply be a separate list of possible thoughts, one for each quality above normal, and one for each quality of a food they prefer. The latter would have happier thoughts.

DF Suggestions / Work hammers
« on: April 19, 2018, 07:24:15 pm »
Work hammers would increase the speed at which constructions are build and torn down.

That’s all.

As a weapon, they would be like a weaker war hammer and ofc use the hammerdwarf skill.

My suggestion, like some others, is to have pipes buildable.

These would be treated as an empty space, but it acts like everything else is surrounded by walls. Animals can path through these appropriately, and can climb up them if able.

These movement restrictions would apply to fluids as well. If liquid pressure is created, it would be pushed up the pipe. You could see what is in the pipe through highlighting the pipe background according to what is in it. E.g. blue for water, red for Magma, and inverting the color of the pipe if a creature is swimming/traveling through it. If you looked at it, you could view the contents of the pipe.

Pipes could be destroyed via standard methods, but also by Magma if it’s not Magma-safe. It would not be toppled by building destroyers.

DF Suggestions / Scaffolding
« on: April 19, 2018, 07:00:29 pm »
Scaffolding would consist of floors and ladders.

These would both require one log each, and the act like floors which can support scaffolding above it. This makes for an easy and inexpensive platform to build taller things such as statues (and giant pipes that consist of water being pushed up into a well via screw pump)

Destroying a scaffold would break all the scaffolding above it and the logs used to create it would fall harmlessly down like lumber from a tree, however a Dwarf working up on the platforms would fall and become injured appropriately.

These would be treated as fair game for building destroyers, which would be especially chaotic for the ones building my well something on top.
