(*) Made classic graphics setting work properly on restart (hopefully for real this time!)

Seem to work, thanks.

Regarding tutorial bugs, i get stuck at zoom-in/zoom out step in classic linux build, ie left/right bracket and ctrl+mouse do what is intended, but zoom-out tick stays unchecked and there is no progress.

ASCII lives in the new graphics era

* repackaged and restored orphaned dffd link
* new and better font generator
* updated fonts

There is few issues with the new graphics system, see topic starter

oh hey that settings bug where if you mess with the settings in game and exit out of the game, the game will switch to premium edition graphics on the next boot up is still in 50.10.

Easiest way to reproduce this in freshly extracted game is to switch to windowed mode and restart -- it will revert to premium graphics, and you have to disable it every session which is inconvenient. Couldn't find this one on the bugtracker though, should i report it?

Reasonably sure the steam version is another year away.

...from any particular day.

Good to see another update, but for me it is too little and too late, and makes me appreciate certain slightly comparable open source projects even more.

Had an amusing situation when a dwarf was brought in for interrogation at the very moment when he was trying to steal an artifact. He confessed to intention and revealed a mastermind behind the plan. Immediately after that he procedeed and stole the artifact anyway.

*

Some continuation.

So after confession the dwarf went and stole the artifact. He then met the ringleader, they did a little dance in the hallway, and the artifact changed ownership. Unfortunately, my captain of the guard went to sleep right after the interrogation and was unable to catch up with the guy, who quickly embarked on leaving. My military squads managed to intercept him on the edge of the map and took him off. The artifact was returned, the body was dumped into magma, and i thought i'd never be able to find out what that all was about now that the ringleader was dead. However rather soon i noticed captain of the guard heading his way out towards the place where the plotter was killed. He stood there for a brief moment, went back to his office (alone) and came up with an interrogation report with information... from the dead guy.

Possibly i ordered CotG to interrogate him before CotG went to sleep, so he proceeded with the order on waking up, and it worked out despite the subject was already deceased.

*

Preemtive interrogation uncovered a plot that hasn't yet come to motion. 447 days in prison for espionage. That's rough.

You are welcome, and good luck to you in your adventures. Hopefully i could help and make it more enjoyable.

In the meantime i am comtemplating some new and yet vague concepts, as the current achievments are seem to be more or less perfected. However, i'm not convinced that pushing classic-retro-character-based ideas is worthy. Need in such solutions never was substantial, and the upcoming graphical revolution may further lessen it.

Embarked on 47.02 on a site that had no aquifer according to the map, yet it had at least 4 layers of sandstone slow aquifer.
Maybe more but I gave up building down further when I hit the 4th layer of damp stone.
I did use the modest mod + accelerated, but I don't think that should affect aquifers.

Same on vanilla .03, three layers of slowly soaking sand/whatever else, not specified on embark map.

I don't expect it to become crucially better any time soon, so i guess now is a good moment to jump in and play a little.

Made me remember bolts glitching through surface being very annoying.

Changed brown color in the colorscheme due it's poor performance on dark backgrounds. To get updated replace this section

#brown_bramble_variation_592804
[BROWN_R:89]
[BROWN_G:40]
[BROWN_B:4]

with this one

#peru_tan_7f3a02
[BROWN_R:127]
[BROWN_G:58]
[BROWN_B:2]

in your data/init/colors.txt file

Looks quite handy, wonder it this will be any of help for debugging efforts. Thank you for your work. Looking forward to the linux version.
