DF Dwarf Mode Discussion / Re: why arent red winged blackbirds agressive?
« on: February 16, 2018, 02:26:22 pm »
This is terrifying.
if you think thats bad, they also go into the trees and start letting a high pitched "SQUEEEEE!" to tell other blackbirds to come attack.

i really hate giant alligators and olms.

giant olms and alligators never leave my dwarves alone and always kill them.

DF Dwarf Mode Discussion / why arent red winged blackbirds agressive?
« on: February 16, 2018, 07:40:42 am »
ive encountered these feathered fiends at the pond and they love to gather in  groups and swoop down on me and other people, they are the most territorial bird ive encountered in my life!

Pre-cut presumably because they were smoothed by the water.
All right, that's a good enough approximation for DF, but I still object for 2 reasons:
1. If a small rock is shiny enough to be immediately used as a gemstone, it's shiny enough for a bird to steal it away to decorate its nest (which currently don't exist).
2. Dwarves are supposed to be renowned for their artistry, and craftwork par excellence. Are we now literally just picking trash up off the ground and saying, "Here, buy dis"?
are you calling coral garbage?
coral is considered a valuable gemstone

i was a little bothered by the lack of unique creatures in good and evil biomes, so i made these up
Nymph: like fairies and pixies but big as a human. they are like animal people as they can speak and join civilizations. they come in groups and have the ability to fly
Pegasus: like unicorns, but with wings. they can be tamed and come in elven sieges.
Spiky Shambler: like fluffy wamblers, except larger and more aggressive.
Golem: a large humanoid made of stone. it isnt that agressive, but it has decent strength and isn't easily taken down.

Beach combing,
Dwarven Children and Jewelers search around in sandy beaches or brooks to pick up coral, small gemstones, rocks, jewelry or bones!
