I thought I had read somewhere that this was the first half of the villains release >.< hence the thought it could have not been added yet :) anyways, do we have any word on when the second half of the release will be? Before or after steam?

Do we have any ideas on how to stop artifact theft? I have a museum set up and had about.... 10? Now I have 2 -.- I’ve posted guards inside and outside the museum but am unsure if that’s actually helping, any advice? Or is there even a way to stop this yet? I mean shouldn’t your guards be like “hey, don’t touch that” and beat the crap out of or imprison thieving dwarves? Right now it just seems like they see them steal it and just shrug and say it’s fine -.- is this implemented? Can we have an option to tell guards to annihilate anyone who dares to disturb them? Am I cursed now to make forts with 0 visitors? Lol just curious

Quill18 was the person that introduced me to the game via one of his playthroughs but I couldn’t get into it, recently Nookrium had his very in-depth 50~ minuet turorial and then a tutorial fortress, after watching all of that together I got into it (about 3 weeks ago) and haven’t looked back since.

Heck I would like to see it crazy unbalanced in high magic worlds, and when its the medium settings see certain "caps" so maybe in high magic (or even just above medium magic) there can be spells that destroy a whole world, would be kind of cool to see it happen and then read about it in legends viewer or something lol

When you consider that in previous games I have been near civs with near to, or under, 100 population and received visitors from them it is, at 100 population I am having trouble finding things for my dwarfs to do, if the AI cannot spare even a few then they need better management lol, I will check the Legends view again after this year and see if anything has happened that is noteworthy

I am using the highest possible settings across the board, most civs (excluding the poor kobolds that I never get to fight) are at 500+ population with I think 32 civs last I checked (so most races have at least 5000 people), there are tons of people near me as well, humans, elves, dwarves, and goblins (1 large civ each). We are currently at war with the goblins but thats about it (the humans and elves are on the other side of my fort from the goblins, so they should be able to reach me)

Just set up a library and tavern, then noticed I wasn’t getting any visitors after 1 year. I believe the problem is with 3 human visitors that have refused to leave and are staying around, anyone experience this?

yes, not to mention I get a crash in MW everytime I play Dwarfs (I need to sit down and get the crash log put up here tbh). But never crashed with humans which I think is odd lol

Just fyi I am someone who is fairly new to DF, I am currently going through every DFTalk (I have done the newest and oldest so far) and will be studying up so I can avoid asking things that probably have been asked to death or answered before in a non-forum way and I simply don't know about it. With that said:

Will battles and war and the likes ever be an on-screen thing? Will I be able to watch and control my dworfs in epic battles, offensive sieges, or see them in a town I captured? Will raids follow that eventually or will only certain things get that king of treatment? Or will that not happen at all?

Will combat speed be slowed slightly to allow players to look at fights better? I notice that once over 10 units get into a fight I don’t care enough to look which really hurts things imho, idk how much this would affect things but maybe a slight increase in body part HP or lowering of weapon damage? Or perhaps is this exactly how you want it to work as is and the showing of combat info will get better at some point?

Will you be able to read books in fortress mode eventually? Or even write the books?

Will we ever see larger shields introduced to the main game? Even just a tower shield that reduces speed slightly but has a higher chance to block would be acceptable (then you have buckler for speed, tower shield for defense, and shield for inbetween

Will we ever see a hobbits type fantasy race? More peaceful little guys that just farm and try and stay out of the way?

Well even more credit to my suggestion then I suppose, having the orcs be a more spread out faction with some centers of government sounds like it's right up that alley. However is that what the creators and the community wants with orcs? Realism and stability aside, you have to consider what is fun in a game otherwise what's the point of making it?

I would like to think that a raiding based faction should work anyways right? I mean just go to a farming based village, kill a few people, then demand that they give you a certain percentage of their crops or they kill you all. Maybe that would be the perfect place for orcs? They could even take prisoners (as they do now I assume) and use them later as soldiers to help take from others, they could even be an early threat to your fort, like they come in once you hit, idk, 20 pop and demand tribute each year and then if you can get even a small military up you can fight them off? Meanwhile the orc civ could be more spread out then other civs (so more sites, less pop per site) and only occasionally settle down in large settlements to actually have animals, or farm, or whatever. They could even be a race that ethics range wildly per tribe? Thoughts?
