I just got bitten by a possibly rabid dog. Oddly enough I feel peaceful about it, not even mad or give a damn. It's sometimes nice to have pain to remind myself that I am alive. Tomorrow I'm getting a rabies shot and getting the gash cleaned up.

At least 40% of those "likely to vote".

It's likely to be a close race, % vote wise, but a curbstomp in the electoral college by Obama. That's what many experts predict, unless something major happens.

Pretty much quit playing d3 in favor of torchlight 2. Besides lack of grim dark atmosphere, it plays truer to d2 than d3 does. This is coming from someone who spent thousands of hours on d2 and got every character to 60 in d3 and soloed inferno and made $100 off the rmah. D3 plays too much like eve for my taste, like a stock market simulator than a game.

Edit: I'm also strongly considering selling off all my gear, because I could probably get a few hundred for it.

So last night I did some calculations based on high level end game and streamlining builds for NG+, where mobs get up to level 125. Anyone particularly interested in knowing more and possibly ruining the fun of the game for themselves?

Edit: It's basically a ton of info useful for meta gaming.

I know those casters you're talking about. They're cold spells. A worthwhile investment on hardcore would be the resist potions from the general inventory vendor that gives you +40 elemental armor for a few minutes. This is also highly useful on softcore elite against bosses that oneshot you. Also, supposing your hardcore berserker makes it to act3, invest in stupid amounts of poison armor. It will save your life. ;)

Had a lot of fun today theorycrafting with different people on steam, which was a nice change of pace from grinding through the game on a new character every few hours because I had a new idea.

I haven't even cleared act3 yet, then again, all of my new characters are on Elite now.

Some thoughts on the best skills in the game or for each class...
Engineer: Forcefield, healbot - having these on any difficulty less than Elite means you should not be losing health. Engineer is possibly the most versatile class with many build options but there's no reason not to carry these two skills on any engineer.
Berserker: Shadow Burst. Already covered. Why is this a level one skill again?
Outlander: Glaive throw clears rooms, although not as quickly as...
Embermage: Prismatic bolt - the one point wonder. Then put all your points in elemental attunement and the elemental brand passives and watch everything melt. Phase shifting ice teleport - you should not be getting hit.

When I have more time I'd like to share great Elite builds. So far I have two that are constantly underleveled and still making good progress-

Technically I should do the Diablo method and grind some high exp areas but I'm too lazy for that at the moment.

May I just say though, stacking mana per second regen is about the most broken thing in the world. Allows you to spam ALL your abilities ALL the time.
