Eh, it was pretty fun playing with a bunch of SA goons and bros from /v/ apparently at Broken Hills on Russian Server.

But this game won't really be fun until we can play running our own servers. Right now it's just a russian vs. everyone gangbang free-for-all. With some russian admins wielding miniguns.

Not really fun to finally steal a gun off a dead guy only to get gangbanged by 12 russians, and then they're camping respawn as well..

Also the english only server is laggy as shit and goes down often, which is why I'm on the mixed server.

Wow, I was also trying to be helpful on the #bay12games chat and newnet fucking banned me for posting a megaupload to the client. Apparently all megauploads are trojan links.

General Consensus from the sites I'm reading is that Ruskie gangs are going around killing and looting everything, including pretty much all the NPCs.

New features in 40d14 (vs. 40d)
- Translucent tilesets are supported, using PNG.
- The DF window can be resized on the fly.

- The grid size is autogenerated on startup; such init.txt settings are ignored.
- Current desktop size is used for fullscreen size if fullscreen resolution is set to 0x0.
- The DF window can be zoomed on the fly using the mouse wheel. There are two modes, it defaults to mode 1. Pressing mouse wheel switches modes. Pressing F12 resets mode 1, not 2. In mode 1, the zoom from mode 2 is not visible. (And yes, you can use both at once)
- The keyboard input system has been totally rewritten:
* You can bind multiple keys to one command
* You can create keyboard macros
* Input bindings are divided into sections
- Lots of bugfixes and performance improvements.

Red Orchestra is the only mainstream game I know that does the Wehrmacht justice - Portraying them as regular soldiers getting caught up in nationalist pride/orders and then attempting to defend their homeland from the Soviet onslaught. No story mode, just reading the mission briefs.

Hell, it's the only game to really capture the feel of the Eastern theater. CoDs don't count.

As well as being the best WW2 Combined Arms FPS game IMHO and one of my favourite fps.

I blame this on the fact that America really only has individuality as a culture and not an actual coherent one besides popular democracy/choice which goes against individuality oddly enough.

That being said, Japan is just weird. Most of it is normal but youth pop culture is just... crazy.

/Asian American and been to Japan many times.

Been playing this a lot recently, stock as PTTG did it but changed graphics to have the enhanced set.

Only thing that's annoying is there's no water source on this map so I'm limited to scrounging plants to make booze. Hurt kobolds die :/ with no water.

Also, lack of mechanics to make a well kind of annoys me, and why is bowyer not an active skill? Stock DF kobolds come with bows - I was churning out bows once I got a weird immigrant kobold. I also can't find anything to make weapons and armor besides bone, wood, and shell, so I've stolen everything from the merchants.

I justify this that the merchants stealing items bug doesn't kick in and I get more immigrants.  ;D

Alternately, there could be an animal handling job related to it, and a stable building in which you could keep your prized horses separate from the rest..

Well, breeding or not there should be stables and more animal keeping jobs.
I'm certain a job relating to neutering animals will end very, very badly, speaking as a modder.

It still amuses me that Toady accidentally giving carp a default bite attack is what started all the carp horror stories and ended up making the game that much more fun.

If you're having spear dwarves spar each other... they tend to get unlucky critical hits and poke out one another's heart, throat, and lungs.

It is rather unfortunate that crits work both ways.

That processor will prob need upgrading soon. ArmA2 is one of the few games where quad core really shines or having a higher end core2duo or extremely/equally powerful AMD chip really helps.

Using the editor to create a battle with hundreds of units firing/avoiding fire/moving at the same time lags my computer :/ And it's a monster- core2duo E8500 @ 4.0 ghz.

I'm getting an i7 build soon though. Just need motherboard and RAM.

So I figured out how to get AI to come in a helo, pick my squad up, move us to a destination, and actually drop us off before giving us fire support (instead of the usual trying to kill anti-air and getting your entire squad killed inside)

It's particularly epic when helos around you are spinning out of control and you end up having to bail in a parachute over enemy held territory.
