jump fatique changed the game a lot everywhere outside highsec. suddenly you see capital fleets in lowsec, fighting over the moons once hold by the power blocks.what i hope for now is that they soon finish the new brain in a box server os, so they can change offgrid boosting and some other stuff that doesnt work satisfying since ever.

i think the game got much better recently and i hope the declining player base is soley caused by the ban of input multiplexing. no way for me to tell tho. maybe eve realy is dying after all and all the awsome changes come to late.
but, even me with my negativity is rather hopeful its realy just the ban of input multiplexing.

stupid me. earlier in this thread i posed something like: ai as weak as in gc2 jadijadija.
turns out, i confused gc2 with space empires 5.
i actually never played gc2 i think.

regured buying this.
the ai is incredible weak. though it can expand quite well on hardes settings, its realy passive and never puts up a real fight. also, i dont mind if an ai gets some advantages to competete with a human player, but i hate if an ai doesnt have to obay the core game mecanics, witch is the case in this game (like, the ai doenst have to explore)

combat is a joke. the two options are quick resolve, and watching a slightly slower resolve, witch is painfull to watch and doesnt offer anything to influence the fight at all.

the ship designer theoretically allows to design new hull shapes (witch are purely cosmetical). alas, it so cumbersome to use that it takes forever just to add modules to the few default shapes. its realy unfun to use and a feature that hurts gameflow a lot and doesnt offer any real gameplay.

meh, could kick myself. the game was rather pricy, and the previous gc had completely retarded ai too, with made them borring to play. i should have known better.

compared to gc2, gc3 it will run on modern os while gc2 has the more interesting ship design options. for me, both games are ultimately unfun to play though.

Repair stations are a thing, but may not do precisely what you want. Repair of parts is possible via repair stations and other means.

awsome :)

but still, maybe there was a more sadistic interesting way to make structural repairs then having them as free lunch after level transition  :D

and good luck for the lauch from me too!

im following this thread a long time now, and i realy look forward to this game.

i read that repairs will be automatic if you move up a lvl.
so, i was thinking, why not make this a bit more interesting. what about a replair stations on the main floors, with the player can use - once, and only after liberating it.
it then would make a great optional target, and the choice WHEN to conquer it and when to use it could maybe add a lot of tactical deepth.

also would it be possible to hack other robots so they then follow the player bot? im having this imagination me role playing some sort virus slowly corrupting the whole bloody complex XD

351
tried that game.
i can not see any reason to play it over moo2.
whats good in stardrive 2 is directly cloned from moo2, and where its not a direct clone, its worse then moo2.
it also seems to be rather instabile. the one game i played started to crash reproducable at turn end when i was 2/3 through the tech tree.

fw is changing since the power projections.
null alliances cant defend lowsec towers anymore, so there is a lot of violent renegotiating over the moons going on.
my alliance has formed a coalition, we even own a titan.
was fun, if only i had better skills to fly battleships.

353
dunno. i found flagships to be quite good. just to slow. so, yeah, there are better ships in this game, but also much worse.
a tip: the shells will explode after reaching their maximum range and then do aoe damage. close however you have to hit to do any damage.
also make sure to use your point defense (4 or f) and your own missiles. hope that helps.

354
all the servers in the lobbies are waiting for players. status warm up means the game hasnt started yet.
the starter ships are all quite good. most of the unlocks are actually much much worse.
i would not worry if youre welcome or not. even now with the weekend almost over the vast majority of players have just started with the game, and as long as you are not inactive everything will be fine.
at least, i havnt seen much rageing yet,

355
unlocked the reaper.  it has a dual pea shooter, a tickle beam, short range missiles and slowmotion fighters.. when shooting dead on, it can even use the tickle beam and fire both the pea shooters.
my advise was not to waste exp on it.

356
gawd this game is so horribly unbalanced. most of the ships are outright shit.

flagships are quite good, but painfully slow and rather short ranged. can be awsome if no enemy sniper is present.

snipers = godmode with incredible damage and range. quick upgrade from flagship. can be unlocked within 3-4 games. only downside of this ship is that its just to easy and feels like cheating.
tip: stay clear from the gun upgrade. tho it has a longer range, it has a much slower shot speed, and only half  the damage of the rail. it also needs to charge. big waste of credits and xp.

hunters are incredible fun, especially with upgraded blink. even have a decent chance against sinpers then.

brawlers are very strong when the harpune is used correctly. dont fly this if there is an enemy sniper.

in my oppinion, all the other ships are not worth unlocking, and are very rarely seen in game. sometimes i do see frigates and equalizers, and they are very fast and difficult to hit. albeit, they seem to have difficulties to kill anything and die like fly to flagships and more so brawlers. once i seen an equalizer have a quite good kd/r tho. emphasis on once and quite.

edit: corvettes are quite popular and a great force multiplyer with their repair beam. sadly, their offensive capabilities are crap, and the game wont award anything for repairs. takes a greater man then i am to fly them.

357
ha, thank you :)
game is quite fun i think, however, snipers are just stupid. whenever the enemy has one, i get my ass handed to me.

358
confusing game. the "tutorial" video is of little help.
im rather lost, no idea what to do and how stuff works. like, how do i upgrade stuff?
not sure  if i like it. so far i dont hate it. i guess it could be worse. will try a bit more, but im not to optimistic.

hum. 3.d game. after we won, some stupid message told me something went wrong. no xp or credits. im pissed a little. well, at least the msg told me not to worry. so i wont.

I personally think that as they were basically just doing a remake (of a very, very good game) they should have been able to make it at least enjoyable even if not a 9/10.

i have a very opposing taste.  a game that was fun a loooong time ago must likely is unfunn today. just take elite. it was incredible 1980. but measured with todays standards, it leaks virtually all content. a clone, even if it had grafix like never seen before, and ran rock solid, would still be borring as hell today.

most of the players that played  the classics stoped playeing them at some point for a reason. making a higher resolution version is not going to change these reasons. and if we ever wanted to play them again, there still is the original game with certainly runs very smooth on modern os thanks to gog, and maybe even got improved way bejond its original state thanks to player created patches and modifications.

but of cause there is the  younger audience that never played the originals. but then, all these classics inspired much more sophisticated  games during the last decades. these games are most likely much more attractive for this audience.

tl,dr:
even a perfect clone would not get anything more then a very low rating for efford from me. these games are about as necessary as nirvana covered by britney spears.

as motorbitch says, they managed to mess up what should have been a very, very easy win.
actually i tried to say quite the opposite. doing something again that has been done 20 years ago would be an impossible win.
but its not just this game. all these remakes of the "classics" make me sick. to the very last they are uninspired and borring, and the vast majority is unfinished, bug ridden and broken to the point of being unplayable.

but of cause. unfinished is a feature these days. to allow access to the product more early. just look at this horrible homeworld remake. all they did was putting new highish res textures on the old low res models. still they had to ship it with some missions (like the turtorials) being flaged unfinished. even tho the game even managed to get stellar reviews and is a great comercial sucess.

now, its true, wom here gets a lot of my frustration that has grown over a longer time. and yes, i am aware that this is a bit unfair. still, as i see it, this pile of crap is just a perfect excample of games that noone should ever buy .
