why is that to low?
this is a cover version of a 20 years old game. the creativity lvl is painting by numbers, and they failed even at this.

someone mentioned sword of the stars 2, i fully agree and have noting to add.

the worst game i ever liked proably was final liberation.
i realy cant say why i liked it. it had no redeeming features whatsoever.
it was unfinished with missing units, the "campaign" only had a single scripted counter attack. the grafic, especially the videos, where incredible bad.
it was completely unbalanced (well, i guess thats not the fault of the game as it had to deal with the wh40k rules)

still i somehow managed to play it a lot and have tons of fun with it. was also fun in hotseat.

so, apparently during the last 2 weeks there has been a bug in 0.16 and trunk, witch caused all player melee attacks to do double damage (after ac).
monster or summon attacks are unaffected. trunk should be fixed by now. however, to my knowledge it has not been decided yet if 0.16 gets fixed during the turnament, or if the bug is left in place to have at least consistant rules for the whole duration.

i tried to have a look into this.
the launcher will crash when i try to change a graphic setting. did not even bother to launch it.

i like faction warfrare. if you want to try that, i would suggest you just enlist with one of the factions npc fw corps. fw is very solo focussed. also. you will get rectuited into a player corp immidiately anyway. switching fw corps or even the faction is easy.

hmpf. played this game more then i can justify in any way.
if it comes to games, i seem to be a masochist, i realy hate about all games i play longer :/

i guess for me its the artwork and the general realxing feel of the game that kept me playing. (note to self: suggest it to miners and carebeas in eve at next opportunity).

anoter redeeming feature maybe is that im not native in english, and so its a bit more cumbersome for me to read the storys. therefore, i skipped most, and just confirmed for the reward. but once in a while i decide to read one storry instead of just rushing it. so, the storys  paradoxically are an ongoing motivation just because i tent to read them so litte.

also, it allowed me to connect to their serves and update with a pirated version. i realy appriciate this, as i never buy a game i havnt played before... anyway, meanwhile i use a legit copy, and again "upgrading" to a legal version worked without breaking any save games. both is rare today and highly appriciated.

however, there are things i dont like with this game too:
for one, declining difficulty. it starts kind of hard, but it gets to easy to soon. there are very few balancing mecanics (like the closed coffeeshop, limited tours of lion stones or the declining wine prices in godfal) - and these mecanics are weakend the way the legacys work. after all, i can take all my money with me into the next game. it was cool if the game in the same way passed  on balancing mecanics and difficulty modifers. like, binding of issac does a great job here... the more one plays the game and unlocks collectables, the harder it gets.

so yeah, even if i am proably not the target group i had fun with this game and im happy i bought it. my mom would love the shit out of this if it was in german.

i made very similar observations. i live in lowsec, and before i joined my current corporation, i had tons of fights with some of them  (witch we still fondly rember :) ).
i also often (try to) recruit players i fought.
only carebears that never leave highsec get all mental over the loss of a ship. but i think most of these that stay in the game for longer acutally appriciate the content created by players that are less risk adverse. eve is a very borring game if all you care about is a growing isk count.

well. reducing the lengh isnt the worst they can do to 4x tbh.
maybe i was overly sceptical with my previouos  estimation. at least they seem to have the balls to try a little bit new. (even if these innovations proably are just forced by the target devices)

thanks for your help! i think the problem is the lamp. with low tier engines, it like triples fuel consumption.

anyway, im out of here. i would not say this is a bad game per se.
but for my tase, it combines the worst of rouge likes and text adventure games.

now, im not the biggest fan of either genre, hence i am proaby just not the target group.
however, combiningrng RNG difficulty+permadeath  with a written, story based backbone strikes me as a realy bad idea.

371
ok. im lost.
i have no idea how not to go broke, i cant even make enough money for fuel, let alone repari my ship.
there usually are like 2 or sometimes 3 ports close by, and if i visit them and bring back reports, i will be rewarded with 2 peanuts and a cag of fuel each, but that doesnt seem to cover the the costs.
i was inclined to say: fuck this shit, its broken.
but others seem to suceed.
so, is there a trick?

lets face it. fecies sell if you print the name sid meier on them.
so, firaxis does whats in the best interest of their share holders: they make civ games that are just good enough to keep the label running, and aside of that, they produce crap because they know it sells anyway.
they make remake after remake of their old games for  25 years now.  im quite convinced no interesting and creative game will be sold under this label ever again.

cant understand the hate for shipbreaker.
tho i have to little info to defend it here, i also think its kind of dumb to condem it just because it (now) has the homeworld label on it.
keep in mind, it was started as a game that was just inspired by the homeworld games. the offer to make it an official homeworld game came quite late in the developement (at least thats the storry floating around).

for the remasterd: im not too interested in this. yes i liked it in 2000, but i think i would get horribly borred if i would play it again today (and anyway, new highres textures alone could never convince me to pay again for the game).
none the less, i had the chance to take a short look into it. seems its not even feature complete (tutorial missions are not aviable was the first thing i notieced). from what you guys write here, thats not the only quirk.
i realy dislike any early access, but i think this one isnt even sold as early access? seems like a realy bad ripp off to me.
sad that. i realy enjoyed the borderlands series. that said, all that microtransaction bullshit going on there alreay left quite a dent in my respect toward this studio.
guess ill be extra carefull with gearbox stuff in the future.

« on: February 26, 2015, 05:47:02 am »
true, as long as there is an upstair, its less of a problem. just go up early enough to kill the respawn monster that is sure to happen.
for the gong tho, that shield would not make noise out of combat. so yeah, the storm is way more dangeous.

yeah, it can generate tons of elementals. its basically a sentinel mark on you all time tho.
this has the advantage of getting more xp: go up a ladder, and at last one respawned monster will find you very fast.
the disadvantage is that its virtually impossible to rest untill a floor is completely cleared.
so yeah, pretty awsome, but also very dangerous.
