DF Dwarf Mode Discussion / Re: Flux Rarity and Bug?
« on: April 03, 2011, 05:25:25 pm »
DFHack Prospector does not list layer stones.
unless you have marble, it wont list present flux (chalk, dolomite, blah) because they are layers and not veins/clusters.

Just like it wont tell you about the 2billion conglomerate aquifer you have.

edit: blah ok appears taht marble is a layer as well. so no marble in the prospector either. but its damn well _there_.

Is it normal in DF to have Aquifers above ground level and in mountains?

Doesn't make much sense to me :|

DF Dwarf Mode Discussion / Re: Have you donated this month?
« on: March 31, 2011, 08:53:50 am »
No.

I've donated twice so far, amounting to about a full price game.

And i will still donate again when i'm earning money in some way.

Sucks we have to use them because dwarves dont train at reasonable rates if we dont.

I don't wall in for the first years, so i need my leather/random assorted iron piece army dwarves trained as can be.

HoN is a community of elitists, completely shut off to new players with no dota experience. Even "noobs only" games literally only have seasoned players.

Can't recommend this honestly.

So

Has anyone tried Urist as a Seed yet? :P

Result is pretty sweet, though i dont see any immediate magma falls, bottomless pits or floating islands.

Anyone versed in direct2drive preorders?

They don't offer preloading, but in fact they dont show any schedule for the release at all. Whats common? Midnight, noon, late night tomorrow?

I'm guessing they send you the code to register on Steam which you then use to download from Steam.
Steamed for multiplayer purposes?

16 gig
And they expect this to be a downloadable game? It would be quicker to go to the store, buy it, and come back.
at 3 mb/s downstream, thats certainly downloadable. And thats nowhere near the top for private connections here.

DF General Discussion / Re: Crocodile fortress guard

Nice find.

Can you tame crocs in DF without a dungeon master? (who will never come)

Wouldn't work against goblins most of the time, but i guess its a way to keep your cave critters at bay.

Immediate cult classic. I'd better hurry to grab that version! ;)

Other Games / Re: New game from Notch, creator of minecraft
« on: March 02, 2011, 08:33:17 am »
Really?  Notch becomes Sweden's best-known self-made millionaire after two years of programming Minecraft, so he can put it out to pasture before he's even called it done, and traipse off to make a generic-fantasy tradan/battlan card game?  What the fuck dude?

Notch himself isn't going to be working on Scrolls apparently, and is going to continue working on Minecraft. At least, for now, says this article.
I sure hope he does, its nowhere close to version 1.
And he's had almost 1.500.000 people buy the thing, putting trust in it.

These days i've been playing Rome for a while

Conquered 35 Regions so far... and realized that even Rome doesn't run all that well. Abysmally so, when i consider how old it is compared to my PC. (though thats not new by any means)
-> went ahead, preordered Shogun 2. Paid only 29€ too, yay. Not bad for a big new title :>
